I read this report on Times of India. It is the poorest English writing I have ever seen. To add insult to injury it appeared in India's national newspaper. Where are the Editors? Who is responsible for reviewing this material before it goes online or goes into print.

Youth gets life imprisonment for throwing acid on girl
22 Mar, 2009 1519hrs IST PTI
KOLHAPUR: A youth was sentenced to life imprisonment for attacking a girl by throwing acid through one side love here.
Additional Session Judge A B Mahajan declared this judgment yesterday.
The youth Arvind Ashok Sonar was news paper seller and fall in one side love with a girl.
The incident occurred on November 21, 2007 when Sonar came to know that marriage of the girl was fixed, then Sonar went to her apartment and thrown acid towards her.
After the incident Shahupuri police arrested him and file case against him.
TOI is supposedly a national newspaper. It is an English-Language daily. Thus one can expect it to follow at the least the most basic standard's of English writing.
Times of India is like my home-town newspaper. I would go online to their website to get news from Delhi. I have in the past, voluntarily boycotted their news services due to poor-quality editing and reporting. But, there are not many good online sources for news from Delhi. So, I kept coming back.
But, this time I have had it. I am boycotting TOI for good until I get some credible evidence they are going to make a serious attempt at improving their journalistic standards.
What do you people think about TOI? Are there ardent TOI fans out there? Or, are there others who feel just like I do about the newspaper?
Please share your input!
