To Sukram and others,
This site now has over 15,000 members. Hopefully in a few years we will have over 100,000.
Members will have noted that it is one of the better sites out there, and the quality of its members, discussion etc is quite outstanding.
It is in essence owned by the members- the Jat community.
To describe a Jat, the acronym JAT_ Justice , Action, Truth, comes to mind. It will serve as well as any other.
These three- Justice, Action, Truth, cannot exist, without members’ respect for each other, and a spirit of self sacrifice, something that has characterized our community for thousands of years.
It is not an accident that our community has always stood first to defend our nationhood, and its principles.
The Jat has very strong principles.
One of the founding principles is respect for ladies of the community.
It is not a matter of being over 18. That in itself does not bring maturity.
In our case maturity would be – creating a site where our ladies, can participate freely, without fear of ‘ Chera- Chardi” as that they would face in the local Bazaar, from some local would be heros, who have no accountability.
This should be a site where school children should participate freely and learn from their seniors.
How many school going kids visit this site?
I suggest that will not happen, and they will not visit a site, where respect is not shown by members to each other.
One of the purposes of this site, as I see it, is to act as a resource, for the development of our Jat community, which is rapidly falling behind- declining holdings, no education, no opportunities etc etc.
There is much good work being done by some Jat organizations. We need to add to that.
Yet if as a group we have no respect for each other, then we will have no credibility, and all these lofty dreams will come to dust.
Some how I am quite sure, that no one wants that.
Mauj Masti, good natured to and fro is one thing, desirable, and acceptable. Disrespect is not.
Could I suggest that , all of us do know where the fine line is, and that we should be mindful of our actions.
These are some of my thoughts. If others have better suggestions, I will be glad to amend my thinking.
