Whats happening in Australia?

Facts:
1) There have been repeat attacks on Indians in Australia.
2) The Australian media is deliberately downplaying these attacks. This is not surprising because that rat bastard Rupert Murdoch owns most of it. He owns the propaganda channel Fox news in The U.S. Everybody in the U.S. knows he is a weasel.
3) The police seem to be in denial mode. They have not caught the suspects and have no information on them at this point.
4) Indian media sees this as an opportunity to fill airtime on their 24 hr news channels.
5) BJP is burning effigies of Kevin Rudd in front of Australian Embassy.
6) Punjabis in Australia are talking about ganging up to beat up Australians.
7) The students who were attacked have not come out with a statement detailing the nature of the attack.

Ok, so members in Australia - what do you know about this situation?
 
Australia was British penal colony. what other behavior do you expect from them?
 
Australia Racist or not....

Why do the Indians get targeted for these racial attacks??? Is it because we look weak? Is it because we got money to rob? I don’t think so. Do you really think that we look weaker than other Asians, and are we really richer than other people in this country? So what’s going wrong? Why do they (people who target us) think that we are the right target to get money? Why do the robberies happen in most of the western suburbs where most Indians live? I am living in this country for more than 7 years now and working for more than 5 years. I never experienced any racial behavior in office or outside. People can call me Lucky but I think there are more reasons to this problem and most Indians abused were at wrong place at the wrong time.

There are so many reasons why.

1. We have at least 1000 dollars in our bank account at any time in the savings card that we carry. Well those 1000 dollars are more than enough to get beer or drugs for months.
2. We are religious and traditional and carry at least a gold ring or a gold chain worth of lot of money nowadays.
3. We like new phones, iPods etc and more than that we like to show off having these, we think that’s cool, but we not only showing that off to our fellow Indians but we are to these junkies.
4. Where ever we go, whatever we do we carry a face that tells that we are Indians. So the scenario is if any junkie by chance robs any Indian and gets some money (obviously better than expected) he thinks wow… I will do it again.
5. We are well educated and come from nice families, so we don’t really like getting into troubles and getting dirty. So most of the students when they get bashed or robbed they don’t really call police they just think that’s their bad luck. Also there is a misconception that by getting into police records will spoil their career or reduce chances getting PR.

There are so many more reasons that I can’t think of now. So what do we do to avoid these things?

1. Don’t carry money or cards with money if you are taking public transport especially in night time.
2. Avoid showing gold rings and stuff every day. Also don’t keep jewelry at home. You can put them in the locker for just about $200 a year.
3. While traveling in odd times try and avoid showing the cool phone you have or the music machine you carry. By doing that you are inviting trouble.
4. You may not get into trouble by doing these things but your fellow Indian does, because for them we all look same. For them we are like money banks.
5. Call for help straight away. You don’t get into trouble by doing that.

And Lastly in my opinion if you do get a chance do give them a few punches. This will make sure that they do not get into the habit of targeting us but remember the reprisal but that’s me……
If you think there is more to this or I am missing any point do enlighten me.
 
I dont think Australia is a racist place. Otherwise, so many people won't be headed there.

However, I believe there are some thugs who believe Indians are easy targets. They could target East-Asians also but are scared of the Kung-fu stuff. LOL! :) No, I am serious!

I have personally spoken to some real hard-core so-called racists in the US. These guys are well known in the media. But, I found them to be highly respectful and non-menacing. Do they disagree with me on a lot of things? Yes! At any point of time, did I feel physically threatened by them? No!

I feel more threatened walking through the area connecting puraani-dilli and nayi-dilli than walking through a troublesome trailer park, any give day.

These are some stupid kids who have found an easy target in Indian students. The word has spread around and such incidents are replicating each other.

How many of you knew that there were also some non-white kids involved with their white hooligan buddies in some of these incidents? Did the Indian media report it? No! Because if they did report this, then the story would loose its sensationalism.

Australia is a great place and has even better people. I have a lot of friends (white) there. I come across a lot of Aussies nearly on a daily basis. So, lets not start jumping on conlclusions!
 
I have been to Melbourne twice and that place is full of Indians. They are everywhere but still they get beaten up....think about it !

If u cant look after ur friends/ppl from ur county when something happens coz u r a buch of people who are selfish nd coward , what do u expect from Australian Government. U r temporary residents (nd citizens/ residents too sometimes) who r just interested in making 'Dollars' by compromising with ur self esteem and living in worst conditions (worse than Indian slums).

U stink , u look like Shi**t , u have no self esteem , no courage, no respect for your friends and country. u back stab ur friends for ur own benefit, u come hre on contract marriages, u just wana live here coz u just want to get out of punjab /gujrat

What do u expect then ? I am pissed off

Atleast it cant happen in front of me coz I do whatever it takes.

Eventually they will understand they need to act to survive in this world (Australia is same as any other country)

Respect for those who take a step and stand for themselves nd their friends

Ohh just saw ur thread Sid !

As I said in Aman's thread that the Indian community need to look after itself. No body is going to listen to u or take u seriously if u r not united or u have no respect for ur own people coz all u wana do is stay out of trouble coz its not happening with u. One day it will come to u or even if it doesnt all these incidents present such a bad picture about Indians.

They need to be strong , forget about money , forget about living in Australia , forget about police, forget about studies ...keep ur head up nd act when wrong happens.

Gagan! I agree with you 100%.

Indians are ****-scared of loosing the good life they have or don't have in other cases.

I have come across Indians who won't even talk to me when I was job-hunting last year. I could see them staring at me through their glass doors and won't even come out to say hello. But, there were a few who did help me eventually. But, I had a bad experience with 9/10 Indians I had to deal with. They just did not want to appear fraternizing to their gorrey bosses.

What can you expect of such people when they see their fellow Indians being assaulted on the street in front of them.

You won't find this to be the case in Mexican and Black neighborhoods. Screw with one and get screwed in wholesale. Thats how it works in these neighborhoods.

I make it a point to acknowledge the common bond we share when I come across an Indian. I feel just like you. I don't think I will just hold myself back if I saw a fellow Indian in trouble.

Unfortunately, very few of us feel like this.

Sumit ! I really think all these incidents are an eye opener and they will now understand how to carry themselves, be united nd learn how to fight !

I have heard stories from people in melbourne when I was there : Hundreds of Indians hang out near Flinders street station nd u can see loads of them in the train (I have noticed it) but even if 2 guys from other ethnic group start abusing / or beating someone. they all back off !! nd let them got abused or beaten up .How coward is that! can they even save their sister. 'No' they need a 'dollar' and ' aussi passport'. bunch of .....

First of all they need to live like normal humans ( eat good food ,exercise, help others, have a bed to sleep, take shower, shave nd take care of hygiene) and have some self respect. They are poorer than poor in India. Bringing bad name to the whole nation. People will stereo type them as 'p**** not currymunchers

The real blame for all this nonsense lies with our Government and the Congress Party ... who have 'ruled' us for the last 60 years or so. They have made the whole country into bhookhe bhikhari slumdogs.

hahahhahahaah jyukar melbourne me gather ho ja sai taxi driver ar baki indian protest ke liye ...na kise ne bera kistai baat karni sai...ke baaat karni sai...follow up karania koi nahiii....koi representativeee nhi dhang kaa....gather hooo ja sai rukke marre sai ar pitt kar ghara challeee ja sai...they need to be organised if they want to achieve something..
