Hi all..

I would like to draw your kind attention towards the incident which took place during president Bush's visit to Rajghat. We allowed the U.S. sniffer dogs to kiss each and every portion of the samadhi of our greatest leader whom we proudly call Rashtrapita.

In my opinion our government shouldnot have allowed the security concern of U.S. president to such an extent. Keeping in mind the security arrangements made by our government during his visit if he wants to pay the homage to Rashtrapita then it is fine otherwise also it is fine. The importance of that place is not going to change at all after his visit.

I can remember one incident very well when our defence minister was asked to take off his kurta while security checking when he was on a foreign trip. We should have taken a lesson atleast from that episode.

I agree with u thr tht .. we shld have some self respect
I regard n respect our temples n holy cities more thn gandhi samadhi but it hurts whn some crazy n twisted mulla blows himslf up n for the safety n security of ppl its neccesary to take every requried step .... so for security measures i wuldnt mind using sniffer dogs... but yeah i wuld agree tht at this it was done for a wrong reason.

self-respect comes between equels n problem is with us. we don't want to think that we are equals to any other nation of this world. Govt could denied that no dogs are allowed at rajghat. if govt cudn't say a simple thing like that how can we expect that USA is going to treate us as equal partner.
at this time we cud say anything, coz v r a big market n USA need us badly.
otherwise why d hell Bush waste his time coming to us.
but d baddest thing is that people of india give way under influence of US.
n those who r protesting against this unjustice are called enemy n shameful. if this is shameful than what happen at rajghat is indian pride.

Where your pride be if there was a bomb at Rajghat and it killed our guest?

Pride is in protecting the life your guest.

What exactly is wrong with using dogs?

Are they not a creation of Parmathma?

Could you please tell me why they are protesting ????

Should we feel guilty that US president is visting our home. Our guest is our God it may be US president or Pakistani President. In Indian culture "Athithi devo bhava".

What's wrong with you man ????????

...as I understand from the newspaper reports; the US President's security detail insisted goin over the check again with their sniffer dogs AFTER our security personell had already done it.... so American kutta ho ya Desi, fark kya padta hai?
I think the more important fact that should be checked before hand really (before getting all puffed up with indignation) is; whether the dogs were allowed to go all over the actual samadhi or not!?!... If they were sniffing the grounds and the area around the pedestreal (but not on it) I don't see why it is a big deal!?!
In fact, as I understand even the American First couple were asked to be in stocking to pay respect to the Mahatma... and the fact that they did it exactly like they were asked, fair enough supports the view that the idea of the double check of the area by their own flown over sniffer german shepheard dogs was just a security precaution but NOT some pre-planned notion to show the world that we can have our dogs licking all over the Indian religious spaces!!!?!!!

Bhai mhara yo SELFRESPECT aala liffaffa badda tawla pinchar ho sei........Ye India ke kutte te shivji ki chotti mei rojj shu-shu krein sein mandirs mein....jib yo selfrespect sihwalli khann chaly ja sei?

many other significant issues to be pondered over!!!

Well, we indians r over sensitive bout everything which is least productive....there r hell lot of other important issues which require a serious thought.....
Roti, kapda aur makaan ..... basic requirements are still a question of major concern.....why to waste time over sniffer dogs and so called self-respect which has nothing to offer.
If really interested in talkin bout self-respect, lets talk bout the respect of the masses which is still a missing factor........infact a consequence of denial of even basic necessities.:(

What Waste...

Self Respect!!! Ha Ha Ha...

Those who feel so very let down by a US dog ( a sniffer dog is about 100 times more efficient than a man) sniffing the areas around the marble structure called 'Samadhi' (remember the Atma has already moved away and the 'Sharir' has mixed with 'Panchtatv') for a very important task called 'Security, may I ask you how much do you respct your 'Rashtrapita'? Do we all follow his teachings? Come on, let's not equate self respect of a nation to a Dog, an officer in the service of USA, who was trying to ensure the security of a guest.

I agree with Dev more than 200%. And what is the significance of a 'Samadhi' in any case? It is to honor the person's deeds and life. A sweeper must be cleaning and scrubbing the 'Samadhi' almost daily. To kya vo Bapu ke sir pe baith gya?

Anything for ensuring the security of our people & guests.

Regards,

JS Malik
