I have no intention of derailing this thread But I would just say that for a parent, especially a mother, nothing hurts more than anybody making fun of her child's intelligence or ridiculing her so.
It is sad to see that while we are discussing politicians being ill-informed strangely we doubt the new generation on being well-informed.

It takes a lot to bring up well-informed kids.

Fortunately, for my child reading newspaper is a habit. She gets restless if she does not get one in the morning.
She reads books on various subjects though mystries are her favourite. She just finished reading The Woeful Second World War by Terry Deary. She reads and re-reads the books she likes.
She does not like Maths anymore (Thanks to her teacher in 5th Std who incidentally was a Jatni). She does well though. She loves Social Studies. English is her favourite subject though she is learning French too.
At a very young age she has had the chance to meet and interact the likes of Mr TN Seshan, Sh LK Advani,Smt Sheila Dixit,Km Uma Bharati,Late Pramod Mahajan... to name a few. Has attended personality development sessions with me.
Had the chance to face the camera for a modelling stint when she was just 5 yrs old.The photographer was amazed by her confidence.
Her interests are varied but she is more inclined towards Arts. She might end up in Rehmans' music school seeing her interest in music but I would not mind if she joins Politics. We need more sensitive people there.

This is not to boast about my child or my efforts in raising her.
But yes, I am a proud parent trying to give a well-informed and responsible citizen to the society.

Bhartiji, I am sorry that this issue that hurt your sentiments was raised on this thread. I don't think Deepika was intentionally ridiculing Koyal. I guess she may have reacted given the context of people using fake IDs, parents not allowing children to surf internet on their own and average children generally not taking interest in politics. Probably, she should have exercised more restraint. I hope we can lay this pointless issue right here.

yaa baat to maani padegi bhai,,,,,,:D,,,,,,,main to chaahu su ke Kapil Dalal bhai jaise insaan rajniti mein aage aayein dynasty rule ko khatam karne ke liye:rock

chalo ab main vo reason bhi khojta hun kahaan likh rakha hai bhai ne

Sachin Bhai- Sorry for the sarcasm if you really didn't see the reason given in my earlier posts. Given your high activity level, it was difficult to believe :D

Anyways, I will give it again here. I could have posted the thread saying that see "Rahul Gandhi is so ignorant". But I thought it'd be more exciting if we give it out as a quiz and see what people's natural reaction is. My idea was successful as apart from Deswali ji and Koyal, no one picked Rahul Gandhi. And most picked Narendra Modi. In fact, whenever I have asked my other friends the same question the top answers have been Modi, Mayawai and Laloo. That is an interesting revelation in itself, that how stereotypes guide our thinking. I hope you don't have an issue with me exposing Rahul Gandhi's ignorance. Nothing against him personally, I infact hoped that he'd have more leadership qualities than his mother. But the more we see of him, the less confidence he generates. As for me, I am pretty much a centrist with no party affiliation. I know you are from Congress- I voted Congress in the last elections :D. As I thought that the BJP govt. had been a disappointment. I'd have voted BJP this time as Congress has been an even bigger disappointment. Just one final point, as a Congress worker, if you start taking issue against every logical point raised against Congress, you'd only end up turning more people against Congress. Most people don't have strong party affiliations and vote for whom they like on that given day.

Bhai Now I have read the reason given by you.....off late my activity level is dropping down due to other critical commitments. :D

One thing I would clarify is that I have not asked any body to vote for Congress or for that matter any other party.....I am not asking anybody here to sing song of Congress,,,,its individual choice,,,,,,,Rather I say that the politicians lot from both the National level parties has similar background,,,,what difference it makes are a few individuals,,,,,,Why people are praising Narender Modi,,,,Why people are praising Nitish Kumar(Bihar CM),,,,,because these individuals have left a personal impact because of their high level of commitment(I am not naming Hooda Sahab here,,,,because people start becoming jittery)

Regarding Rahul Gandhi giving that answer, so I can not say with out knowing in what context he has said it. So with out knowing the back ground I will not comment.

Why I am saying is because,,,,,,,,,, ,,"Every Text Has a Context"

I don't have any objection even if you ask me to vote for Congress! Anyways, I was careful to go through the context before posting this thread. You can watch the video of him saying it on youtube (link provided by me in my earlier post). It basically leaves him excuse-less.

Won’t it be interesting to hear some deep and crisp analysis from the fellow members on the performance of past two governments, so that an ignorant person like me can decide better where to use his/her vote in the next elections for the betterment of our democracy & country?

One can easily read so many articles on the subject matter, like someone come abusing UPA government whereas some one highlights so many achievements of this government. But I really couldn’t summarize that on what ground I should vote against the UPA government or on what ground should I support the BJP?

It will be really great to read some enlightening views.

U r rite Deepika
even i thought the same..moreover kids seem better if they are like kids and behave like one
As long as addressing by name goes,,that I didnt find startling, coz now a days and alwaz in western culture they address u with first names

i wonder what made u take interest in politics Koyal coz till date i have not observed other kids(of ur age ) doing this kind of research on the web like u did and so very interested in politics:eek:r u sure u r only 11 years old coz u dont even sound like a teeager but like some mature lady who is 40 plus:DEven your replies give such impression. But anyways even if u r so young(as u claim to be)i hope u r not planning to pursue it as a career. If u are then i would suggest u that dont consider this one as its one real pathetic profession...Belated Happy Birthday to you:)

well i still can't digest this one deepshi...and its not only u amd me but a lot of jatland members who have noticed it...yesterday i cudn't stop laughing when one senior jatland member said that"Woh jo nyu bolai hai ke 11 saal ki bachi hai va nyu sochai hai ki sab maan lenge, sab jatland memebers nai baawlibuch samjhai hai,ke":D.u r right kids should behave like kids and they shudn't be exposed to certain things unless they are mature enough to be a part of it...o.k adressing someone by his/her first name is accepted but how about those replies(read her explaination about how she knows the answer and d way she has replied to me)are not only high on sarcasm but are real witty....We are grown up so we can do it but imagine when it comes from one 11 years old girl:eek: and imagine her mum feels proud when she doesn't show respect to elders at such age:D

respect to elders

Hi Deepika , I have a couple of points to make!

1) I have seen at least 2 kids (and coincidentally both are females ) in front of my eyes! Varsha and Shipra being there names. I was 18-19 when Varsha was like 6-7 and she used to put me in awwee by her sheer intelligence and I used to think that she would be the most intelligent kid I can come across.

A few years later , me being 22-23 , I was interacting with Shipra (class 1 ) and her way of carrying herself , talking with people of all ages ( I was shocked when I called their home and she said to me : Sorry Bhaiya , my father has left for office and mom has gone outside for some work , you can leave your message , I will let my mom about it ! I was like shocked ( mujhe itni achii angreji nahi aayi aajtak  )

The girl in question is 11 which is by no means small. Let's not underestimate someone!

2) Respect has nothing to do wtih calling someone with first name or not. Its a subjective thingy and is something that should come from heart and not to be judged by words!

Thanks,
Anil
