Tragic !

Deepak Bhai, I was waiting for some replies in this thread but none so far. Better you should have started a thread like Your Say: To kiss or not to kiss – and see the magic – tonnes of replies within hours. Who cares for the death of a former captain of a football team? Has such a situation has ever arisen in the case of a former cricket captain or even a cricket player? And the mentality of our young Jatlanders – they only want some hot masala to read here.

In my thread Chaupal ke Chamouley, there seems to be an attempt to prove that cricket is supreme and who cares about football !
.

So tragic............

Jab apno ne gum diya to begaano se kya shikwa
Is baagbaan ki hifazat karte hue loot gaye kai maali

Got it Deepak Bhai ?

No replies on this thread !! doesn't surprise me

Deswal ji,

though the topic is very serious but there is hardly anything that would encourage anybody to comment . Although Deepak is always raising good topics but there's hardly anything he writes , it's simply a cut & paste job from newspapers so there's nothingthat would Provoke or Disturb anybody to write back.

People like to exchange thoughts, like I am with you right now :) .hyperlinks would be just clicked upon & that's about it.

Now on the main story : I am sure it was not a pleasent news to anybody . I have a very close freind of mine who is an Arjun Awardee Boxer & has a rank of DSP in one of the Reserve Police Forces in India, he doesn't make big money either although at one point he was ranked number 4 in Pro Boxing.

So, no matter which sport you play in India beside cricket you are not going to make millions  . in my opinion government hasn't devoloped infrastructure for any other sport. I personally have seen Lalit Bhaot, AIF secretary ( who happened to be my college's D.PE) insult one of the olympians ( track athelete) like a school kid , I think that's the main problem because I think most of the players of any sports are given jobs & they can support their families with dignity but it's THE INSULTS THAT THEY FACE WITH WHILE DEALING WITH RED TAPISM IN SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS?COMMITTES which can drive a person to committ suicide. Throw the politics & politicians out of the sports & you will see our players outperfom anybody in the world.

I started a thread on Recent Suicides of our military men, we had several posts from whoever wanted to contribute and some of you did not contribute there although that is a far more serious issue than this isolated one and now if I blame you for rating an ex-football player's suicide over our dedicated soldiers would that be fair? Of course not! As I think it could be your wish, mood, interested, availability of time and what not for not contributing to that thread. So let’s stop attacking mentality of Jatlanders here for this matter

Let’s keep it simple and allow people to be just viewers if they choose to be so, its time! WITH ALL DUE RESPECT don't misuse Kiss or not to Kiss and Mallika Sehrawat threads so much for justifying whatever you are trying to justify and prove people wrong...lets get over it

Again it is a humble request; please don't take it in a bad spirit...please!

Rathee Bhai, this guy must be in financial trouble due to something else and there is something more to it as his career still seems ok to me as he still is a national selector and travels by air according to the news...if that is not enough what can one say.

So all I can imagine is that this is an isolated case of suicide by a man in India, I still don't know if his being an ex Indian captain has anything to do with his suicide.

Deshwal Ji, ram ram...boora mat manio aap hamare buzurg ho...I went through your abovesaid thread, no body has attempted there yet to prove cricket is supreme rather you yourself are calling cricket a fools' play and more

Kuch logon kih tendency bhi suicide ki houti hai...abh chahe woh football team kah selector hih kyoun nah hoh, saabh conditions toh usake liyeh favourable naheen naah hoh saktii...

hoh sakta hai bache baat naheen mante hoh yah aur koiih family kih wajah hoh....kuuch bhi hoh sakta haii...

There could be so many reasons for someone to commit suicide. The writer relates his suicide to the depression caused by annonymity, but who knows what the actual reason was. I am wondering what happened to the players whom he had captained when he could not digest non-annonymity then I wonder what must have happened to them. It also seems like that the person must have been self-obsessed or a little too full of himself, so full that when he felt that he was not famous anymore he didnt care about others around him and just jumped in front of the train.

Cheers,

P.S. Deswal ji, highlighting "young Jatlanders" as exclusive writers on threads containing "hot masala" is certainly not right. Honestly, I have seen many old Jatlanders to taking sheer pleasures in contributing to such threads. I smell generation gap :)

Its a sad thing that he killed himself, very unfortunate for the family too...but I don't think its a national or public issue!

Surprised!!

Deswal ji, I’ve a problem with your comments.

If someone is not writing on one particular thread doesn’t mean he/she doesn’t care about it, no, not true. We all are doing our share; some of us have lot on their plate in real life, generalizing like this and ridiculing/blaming the young jatlanders per se is indeed not right.

So according to you, death/mishap of the Cricket team captain (God forbid) would contain masala? C’mon!! In our country, Football is not as popular as Cricket, as simple as that. We all have our own preferences. I would hardly care to get a load of this thread not because I don’t care about the sad demise of the player as such, but because I’m not interested in Football or I may not have enough time offhand to go and read and write. I would hardly care to write on a thread concerning politics/sports to some extent, coz that is not my cup of tea, I would rather respond on something I know or interested in, involving some creativity or some science/brainstorming for example if I have time and mood for that. And I believe the similar logic goes for others too, to some degree.

Its not that people are not responding to the serious threads, they definitely do, C’mon stop being so negative (which was bothering me for a while, honestly, but was reining myself to comment on you since I hate to make personal, that too negative, comments and then you seem to be a balanced person) and then above all, the bottom line is we all have different perception of this site, if we are not writing DOES NOT mean we don’t care.

And Deepak, you, you do start meaningful threads once in a while but where is your contribution, if you too think on the similar lines as Deswal ji. It takes no effort to paste a link of any catchy story, we read news, we don’t need these links, contribute your ideas….which is NIL..in most of the cases.

Pardon me if I offended anybody..

Sahi kahi

I think you are right Chillar sahab that there must be some other financial problem with this guy because I am sure he made more money than the poor farmers who committed suide & like you said that it's a sad issue but not a national issue but it does provide us an opprtunity to create more professionalism in sports so that players don't have to deal with the politicians to progress in their career.

May his depared soul rest in peace.

He committed suicide because he was a compulsive gambler and owed a lot of money to people. Had he not gambled he would have saved that money. These are the statements of his friends aired on TV.

I don't want to join the debate about why members respond or don't respond to such threads. What Dr Sahiba has written is correct.

There is no doubt that a lot of sportspersons suffer at the hands of the 'so called administrators' of the sports federation. I have personal experience of visiting the 'Babus' Sports Authority of India when my son was to get some grant for coaching. The file moved only after we established some 'Jaan Pehchan'. Though no money was paid.

Jab tak hamare desh mein sports ko as a 'way of life' nahin liya jaaye ga or sirf naukri paane ka ek zariya hoga, to bhai aise he suicide hon ge...

JS Malik

Why He Committed Suicide?

Why he committed suicide: Simply probably he was not strong enough to face the rigerous of life.

May God bless his soul. Let us not blame every one and any one for the death of this former captain of football team. I think he had good position and if that be so, money itself should not have been a problem. But as Col Malik said, Gambling, and as I read earlier, heavy drinking could be the reasons for his problems. Whatever be the reason, he probably was responsible for his own miseries. I don't think he set a good example by committing suicide.

Uncle ji aapki sari baatein bilkul sahi hai...per iska jimmedar kon hai..ek insaan ko hum itna pyar dein ki sari duniya uske samne kuch na lage aur ek insaan ko dhobi ke kutte ki terah choodd dein. na ghar ka na ghaat ka.. gambling ki baat mujhe pata nahi ho sakta hai aapki bat sahi hogi.. magar ye to bas ek case hai ase ase na jane kitne sportman hamare samne roj martei hain wo sab bhi kya gambling kartei hain..

kuch bhai kehtei hain financial prob hogi , koi bata sakta hai financial prob ku hoti hai.. ek sportsman national/international level per itni shohrat , itna maan samman hansil karta hai aur paise ke naam per use kya milta hai....aur ye sportsman hi nahi aur bhi fields meinhota hai..

maine ek bar ek hockey player ka interview dekha tha news mein.. uske shabad the """hockey ne mujhe bahut kuch diya hai, maan-sammaan ,izzat-shohrat, desh ba baccha-baccha janta hai mujhe, international level per bhi bahut maan mila hai, magar paise ke naam per main bilkul kangal hun..magar cricket aur football mein asa nahi hai, cricket mein sabse jyada paisa hai, aur aajkal football player bhi kafi daulat kama rahe hain, halaki india mein football ka thodi kam ahemiyat hai , """"

hockey hamara national game hai aur jis player ne ye words kahe the shyad yahan per bhi kafi members ase honge ho ye bat jante honge aur uska naam bhi jante honge, phir bhi bata deta hun """ PELE""" .

asa hi kuch ustaad bismilaah ke sath ho raha hai ,, maine suna hai ki shyad wo lucknow mein rikshaw chalatei hain,, pata nahi sach hai ya jhott.

aajkal cricket mein ganguly ke sath bhi kahani chal rahi hai,, ab kumble bhi picture mein aa gaya.. sab kehte hai administration ka dosh hai, selectors ki kami hai,, main puchta hun inko post deta kon hai,, mere khyal se har cheez ke piche hum aam janta hi hai.. hum hi politicians batane hai, hum hi cricketers batane hain, hum hi hero-heroin banatei hai,, sabki command public ke hath mein hai. phir ku hum sabko dosh dete hain jab kami hamari teraf sei hai???????

AAp log ye maat samjhna ki apni bhadas nikali hai,, apne views hi diye hain, agar kisi ko koi chott lagi to maafi chahta hun.

Jee maada mat karey Deepak

Bhai ,
nothing against you , jo dekha wo likh diya eeb tere dhore time konya to isme "paap" ki to koi baat nahi :D . Waise mera jawab to Deswal sir ke liye tha kyonki wo bahut upset they ki kisi ne thread pe kuchh nahi likha , Taali ek haath se to nahi bajti na isiliye likha tha :) .

I think Col. Malik is right , I agree with him that babu raaj should be put to an end in sports & sports should be looked at sports rather than road to a job. Kyonki jaise hi naukri milti hai 70% khiladiyo ka performance thapp ho jata hai.

Respected Elders, Brother and sisters.

There are some cruel realities of a developing nation maybe he was a victim of that.

Jo chalaa gaya so chala gaya....I'm sure none of us knew of him personally.

Lets leave the departed soul alone.
