फ्रैंच में Inde, स्पेनिश में 'Hindu' (pronunciated as 'Indu' - H is silent) और इंगलिश में India.

Sorry, I cant type in Hindi because I dont have the software.

I suppose the Aryavarta and Bharatvarsha werent the same India as what we see today. It must have been the name of a region or a big kings kingdom.
For example Ashok was never king of India but king of Magadha, similarly Akbar was king of Delhi and Hindustan (never Bharat).
Now many Hindus have a different take on Bharat which they generally refer to as Akhad Bharat.
And it was rightly done that when British left India, the country was renamed India. Ultimately, because they were the main architects of this modern India which we know today.
Bharat must have been chosen because it pleases to the Hindu majority and at that time must have been a right answer to the Islamic name of the new country Pakistan. It was good to drop Hindustan because by then India was home to not just Hindus but lots of Muslims and Christians.
And anyways I prfer Bharat over Hindustan anyday, because this "Stan" thing makes India sound like one of those terrorist countries:)
