Why it is difficult to unite Jaat

Greetings Everybody
In this forum, we always talked about Unity of Jaat, or uniting Jaat.
But with the little experience that I got till today, I found that it is very difficult to unite Jaat as compared to other community, mainly communities that are S.C or S.T.
For example in schools or colleges, we can always found that all SC people get friendly with each other very quickly and they form only a single group whereas the Jaat will mostly get divided into many groups and fight with each other.
When i tried to understand the reason for this, I found that people get united when they fear their existence or survival or when they feel lonely.

But Jaat never feel this way. They never fear their existence. They fight among themselves to prove that one is stronger or better than the other. And this is not the case with Jaat only.
Every , so called upper- caste people, share this type of characteristic.
So I think that people get united only when they fear something.

I would like to know your views on this topic that why it is difficult to unite Jaat.

Hello chahal bhai,
This theory is applicable when people are ignorant and they are toiling only for bread and butter. and u are right in ur thinking. and unity will be there till fear persists. See the Sarv-khap panchayat system its there when there is fear. "Jab aag lage tabhi Kuan Khode"- its ignorance

Otherwise unity starts from unity of thought process. then in words and at last in walks of life. Actually lack of right education is sole cause behind this. Today only jungle-raj (badi machhali chhoti machhali ko kahaye) prevails, hence your thinking is right in modern era of ignorance.

But it can be reverted by providing right education.

I agree with you that state of fear & less strenght do bring people together, may be temporarily, however, what mr Ashok said is the main cause, we lack right kind of education, we are less practical because we lack practical intellince & we take lot of time to accept reality. We also donot have one name, one tradition, one religion, one God, one festivel, one dress, one language, one slutation etc, the factors do help in bringing unity. Also our M is strong due to which we donot listen to others & donot consider other jat as equal or superior. Also we never teach our children about community & importance of unity. regards

Sandeep,

Weakness/Survival fear leads to the unity. In natural settings weaks fear stronger and this lead them to unite. This is the inherent trait among animal kingdom. Education as barked trillion times has nothing to do with unity. Five decades back there was least education among jats but unity ratio was more than present times.

Most importantly, unlike Muslims, Sikhs, Parsis and various communities Jats are not governed by a single roof of religion, set of beliefs. Only common thing among Jats are their association with land and agriculture but it was never placed at top to make it is a guideline for community for centuaries.

We are random and disseminated because of our nature which is very hard to mold in any setting.

I agree with Samar to a great extent. Would like to add that it has something to do with our genome codes /DNA also. Genetically, we are more egoistic, short tempered, hot blooded and jealous than other communities. A very important force bonding the communities closer is a common minimum programme which I find missing in the Jat community. At present, there is no common minimum programme which can brring the Jats under one umbrella. On the Honour killing issue, we are a house divided. Now we can try to bring forth the two important issues which need urgent attention. Number one is Anti-dowry movement. Number 2 is formation of an 'Educational Forum' to deal with the educational backwardness in the community.

one has to communicate in the language of people because some donot understand human language, that was reason of barking, some people donot understand with one time barking hence, many times. Some, must understand a simple barking that I have not barked for degrees, but the real,/ actual education. Thus It is again barked that education is most important for human unity, we are not discussing animals, cats, dogs etc

yes Ashok, u r very right.......education is the only thing that can do something..........
while i was in delhi, i observed that the jaat of metropolitan cities are much closer to each other than the jaat from rural areas......n what i think, the reason for this behavior is that in metropolitan cities jaat are in minority.......you can find many social groups or societies started by jaat in these cities.....
but jaat dominant villages, you will always find jaat get divided in more than two groups that always try to harm each other.......
i am wondering that how can we bring jaat in villages closer to each other , as in metrocities......

Fateh sir
you pointed out the real cause...."parents in jaat community never teach their about our custom, traditions, our rule n regulations"......child often find his father arguing or fighting with his uncle or grandfather..........this environment take the child emotionally away from his uncle......n after sometime from his parents too........
it is fact that human never understand the value of things that he currently has........but when he get parted from that thing then he understand its value..........same is the case in villages.....here many jaat are living together.....n they understand the importance of each other.....but when they move to city and cannot find a person of similar characteristic , then he understand the importance of the word JAAT........
so one solution to that came to my mind to unite jaat is to put every jaat in isolation for a while............but i know it is not a practical solution.....
sir, you are working for the community for a long time.............you understand jaat people, both from village n city,.........so is there any practical solution of uniting jaat under one roof.......

samar,
in older days people dont have degress but they have a very good moral education......and for unity it is the moral education, that is required and the DEGREES.......and and by education, everybody here means moral education..........
in older days people used to give more importance to personal relationship than to material things..........thats why at that all jaat stand for every single jaat without looking at his status at time of need......and thats why rest of the communities respect jaat.......
but now we run after money..........we talk about status........we fight election against election each other...............and these worst things are also happening because of education........n we are not talking about this type of education..........
it is the education that parted us and again this will be the education that can bring us again closer to each other.......

Sandeep, it canot be one line answer/solution & the change cannot be brought in one day, it is slow process & multy frontal attak required to solve this problem. I feel, some of the points mentioned below may contribute to achieve our aim of unity.
a) First of all, this idea has to take birth.
b) feeling of oneness has to be inculcated .
c) we are required to be motivated by high lighting benifits of unity.
d) The teaching must start at home, at individual level, khap & serva khap level, I must say here that best method of teaching is by self examle
e) the efforts must be on ground, the real one & not on papers or to show of or without any self gains.
f) community interest must be considered above any individual interest.
g) we all are required to follow/ display love, closeness, sincerity towards the community in our day today life.
h) our all elders, brothers at useful places/positions have to display the effection for the community & help brothers maximum as cercumstances allow.
j) develop faith, effection & respect for each other.
k) we must take some steps to display oneness in our names, start some practice, tradition which must be practiced by all jats religiously
l) unity efforts must continue at all level by all at every step.
m) we must not be afraid for concern of community, but no show off required, but every jat heart must do his best towards unity, welfare & prestise of the community.
n) khaps, jat organisations, institutions, panchayats & elders should takeup this responsibility as social service
as we know necesity is the mother of invention, my personal view is that economical, social & even physical condition of jats is detoriating day by day, thus, we will feel great necesity of unity very soon.
o) our brothers who understand the importance of unity, must visit their villages, talk to people & explaine the requirement & importance of the unity.
p) Highlight & do lots of publicity of all good achievements of jats in all good fields.
q) maintain jat culture, teach our culture to our children.
r)for such community interest, self sacrifice is very very essencial
s) remember, results of such efforts are very slow & effect is seen little later, so we must continue with ful faith & confidence
t) like selfsacrifice, tolrance is also very important

Educate, educate & educate jats by self examples the unity will come soon. with warm regards

"why jats can't be united" is not a dificult question.
Anyone who can read any randomly choosen 100 threads on this website can give the answer.
Trust me no saracasm intended.

And please think something else than get educated. As most of the JL members are well educated still you can see the typical jat behavior (read 'dirty fights') on JL.

Kuch baat hai ki aadat chhutati nahi humari,
sadiyon raya hai dushman dore jama humara... :)

Jats have typical behaviour, because they are jats & that is why the requirement & solution of unity is being discussed. it will be nice, if any brother suggests some wayout. education here means good sanskara, morale education. we are not talking of learning, ofcourse, JL members are learned, but it is not must that they all behave as per learning. The person who adopts his learning into his thinking & action and changes his behaviour accordingly, can be called an educated

Weakness, Fear of Survival and Dependency leads to the Unity.

In Ancient times, people were dependent on their clan, villege, community or country for survival as single entities hardly used to survive. Advancement of civilization, resources, technology, law & order system, education and individuality brought up the feeling and confidence among the people to become self dependent ( or say almost). People search for the reason and logic behind the unity. If a person believes that he can survive on his own, he hardly thinks about it.

Morever, individuality contradicts the theory of unity. People fear from loosing their individuality for the Unity. Striking differences among the mindset of jat people makes it more difficult. Conservatives assume that moderates are overly liberal while moderates have perceptions that conservatives are too orthodox. Nobody seems to do some adjustments to follow a middle path.

Finally, egoistic nature and complex ( both superior and inferior ) resists people rom validating the significance of the theory of Unity.

Second with Samar's viewpoint here and to extend it, I believe Jats are like Lions, they live alone n' fear of nothing in Jungle. Just like that Jats are free n' fearless, always! And it inherited in their genes too they just can't be governed or influenced by anyone be it Jat or non-Jat. I think, that's the one of main reasons it's hard to unite us, sab ke sab Choudhary sai .. its hard to accept a leader n' listen to him!

I admire this free n' fearless attitude of us but we should get flexible n' learn to live with time. Unity got strength and its most imp asset any community can have.

Cheers
Jit

Brother, your points do have some logic, but why these points donot effect communities like Maliyalies, sikhs, yadavas, pandits, sindhis etc. It is feeling, thinking & bringingup of the people of the community which matters.ALSO PEOPLE HAVE TO REALLY UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY, BROTHERHOOD HAS TO BE DEVELOPED. Differences exist in all communities but other communities get together & prefer community fellow in comperison to other community people, where as jats will behave like liberals, sechulars , morale police & will side with and help the other community people, many jats hagitate to side with jat even if other jat is right. What ever, good or bad, traits jats have, are certainly not suitable for unity, these have to be changed which cannot be done by order, stick or with criticism, Dear it only be done by education/sanskara. Bhai Jeet, loin is alone in normal cercumstances but when loins face stronger opponent, they also get together, also in jungle raj, the requirement of the unity becomes more. You must have noticed that even loin cannot get his prey till the animal herd is intect, With positive mind we all should proceed for unity which is a real strength.

Since ages, Lions always live in the groups. Its the unity of the group which makes Lion the 'King of the Jungle'. There are many animals which can kill a Lion in face to face encounters.
United they rules.

Good comparison Jit. You know lion never goes for hunt and sleep a lot. His only duty is to defend the territory and take care of the lion cubs. It is always the lioness who hunts and feeds the family. We also come across such lions in village chaupal playing card, discussing politics while puffing hukka , sleeping under the neem tree and doing nothing. It is their lionesses (women folk) who work in fields, bring fodder for the cattle and manage the household.

wELL BROUGHTOUT. IT REALLY HAPPENS IN MOST OF OUR VILLAGES

to be united every one should be given importance,if someone think hez the boss(he should not be put to prove it every time),if someone think hez too weak(he should not be challenged to do things).to understand everyone's point of view is what can lead to unity.but i have never seen jaats doing it.i have seen jaats who think only what ever they know is right and everyone else is wrong.unless we adopt to understand i'm afraid it will be difficult to unite them.
