Government's move to slash import duty on wheat to zero allegedly to benefit multinational firms forced adjournment of the proceedings of Rajya Sabha till afternoon today.
Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said there was no shortage of wheat in the country and the decision was taken to cool down domestic prices which has shown an upward trend in recent weeks.

Import Duty on Steel increased 2 Times in 2016

The following chapters under HS code have increased in import duty for
iron and steel as per new budget 2015-16:

"Tariff rate of Basic Customs Duty on iron and steel (Chapter 72) and
articles of iron or steel (Chapter 73) is being increased from 10% to 15%

NEW DELHI: India has imposed anti-dumping duties on hot rolled flat sheets and plates of alloy or non-alloy steel to curb cheaper imports into the country, a government notification said on Thursday.









 
It is already made clear that Copy Paste News Threads are not welcomed at Jatland. Mentioning an appropriate news link during a discussion maybe justified to more or less extent but starting a thread with copy paste News article doesn't make any sense as everybody read newspapers.

Can't we put our own views on a news or incident and start a discussion instead of telling a news to the readers in an era where almost everyone is aware of the latest happenings around us and across the globe ?
