Why one must not be Brahmanwadi-Hindu ?

In fact, Braminism flourished after the original Vedas, Puranas, Epics were rewritten and revised to suit the convenience of the so called 'eye and ear of society' i.e. Priestly class. The evil combination of this priestly class with royal houses led to further cement dogmas under the guise of true religion prevalent from the ages and as such Kalam and sword combination created a holo around their place in contemporary society and a time come when not only reading but hearing of a Veda Mantra by so called untouchables begin to be treated as cognizable act. This led to rigidity in caste hierarchy and the caste begin to start with birth not on one's profession as was the case in Rigvedic times [before the incorporation and acceptability of Purush-sukta mantra based caste hierarchy i.e. Brahmin born from head is supreme and as the birth place on the body parts descends so does his place lowers in society].

Swami Dayanand Saraswati has castigated this system propounded by 'brahmins' as Ponga Punditwad. So true Hinduism does not allow supremacy of any caste [including today's Brahmin as caste] but believes in tolerance and deliverance of mankind as its goal is Vasudheva Kutumbakam.

In fact teachings of Hinduism as enshrined in original Vedas, Upanishdas and Vedangs etc. has been so twisted and changed by these Puranpanthis and so called thekedars of upholders of Hinduism that original luster of precious religion of India has been lost, perhaps, for ever in our Hinduism as known and practised today

Hindu = Brahmanism

How can one avoid ?

One interesting thin found in Rajasthan is that pujari of Tejaji temples is not a Brahman.

Gogaji is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims.

Hindu in not Bhramnism. Every religion, beliefs , theories evolve with time. Those who don't evolve or adapt perish from the world.

Bhramin or no bhramin as long as you, your beliefs, your thoughts are better than yesterday, you are on right track.

P.S. I am a Hindu.

This is folk culture where the priest, usually a Brahmin is dispensable. In fact we have this tendency reflected in the Atharvaveda where we find the priest imploring the sacrifice to kindly engage him rather than do his ritual without the assistance of a priest. He was ready to do the job at a minimum fee. This is also what the Arya Samaj also preaches.

Good reference. Maybe this is why Arya Samaj appeals to rural folks. In my household my mother will do most of the rituals herself, as having grown up in Arya Samaj tradition she knows most of the matr. For larger ceremonies like weddings or yearly havan, we often engage a Arya Samaji priest, who in our situation is a kumhar, if I can share that.

From what I read here, its hold maybe weakening but it did make essential literature and rituals available to a common person without needing an intermediary person like a pandit. Nowadays, internet and other media has made these literature even more accessible to common person. However, I feel that it helps to have an expert such as Dr Rana here to provide correct interpretations and meaning.

What I feel is that we need a framework where we can know when things were added at what time at least in the main body of ancient literature. We know that none of them were written in one sitting and several layers were added at later time by different people.

In my village also, two of the prominent arya samaji priests are kumhar!

In our rural society we did not have (or did not feel like having) domestic helps to do our chores (leaving out some feudal houses, of course). We lived a life of interdependency, at the family level and also at the community level. Dignity of labour combined with respect for human dignity brought us continued happiness. Then we made progress which threw us apart in the lap of urbanisation bringing in its train new trappings and facilities and simultaneously making us dependent on help in many ways. Progressively such helps become unaffordableand we again are forced to come back to the natural way. So we see the developed people doing their own chores and living happily. So lived the Vedic people in the beginning, a happy contented life. It is called freedom, liberty etc. Intermediaries have not been able to deliver these for us.

what is the scale for measuring better-ness of thoughts? Let me ask in another words "what is the true path?"

How did you call himKumhar? Does he make his living by doing what kumhar does? if not he can NOT be called kumhar as per Vedas.

As mentioned by Swamy Dayanand jee from Vedas "Varn is not defined by birth of a child, first parents and then the child has responsibility to be part of any varn"

Both Prashant and Mann are right in their own way. Mann is talking about the theory part, Prashant speaks about the practice. Varna and Jati are different and at the same time converge and are found used one for the other since very early times - at least from the times of Panini, the celebated sanskrit grammarian and the great political thinker Chanakya/ kautilya. Not withstanding the long discourses in Dharma-shastric texts, the fact remains that there is no formal and rigid listing of jatis under the different categories labelled as Varnas. Prashant's reference to a Kumhar being a Arya samaji priest was to indicate that though the ptractice of performing yajnas was resorted to by him he remained labelled as a kumhar as far as the categorising of people into castes was concered. We inherit our caste irrespective of what profession we may choose. The caste mould is cast once and for all. Caste can not be abolished. Caste can not be changed. No doubt a woman takes the caste of her husband in case her caste before marriage was different. It is a natural course.

Good question....There is no universal measure what could be good for me may not be for you. Having said that human has a god gifted power , the power of learning , learning from mistakes, learning from experiences. You learn everyday and get better. Some people ,fools, thinks they have learned everyThing and their progress stop there. It is a continous process. Dont let it stop and that is what is meant by getting better everyday.

Right!

someone asked Budhha. "what is salvation". Buddha replied, "you have to see yourself"............truth is to know yourself and meditation opens the path for that. ..."maano nahi jaano".......................

Right!

..."maano nahi jaano".......................
bat sahi hai. lekin jaana itna asaan nahi. History ko to tweak ker ke rakha logo ne. sachahi to humesha kuch aur hi hoti hai. khair kya ker sakte hai. ab to science ka jamana hai. pakhand vagra mei rakhha hi kiya hai. Science ke raste par chalne mei hi bhalayi hai. aur dharam ki pitthoan ko laat maaro.

Yes...not easy..that'why budhism disappeared from India. It take efforts in knowing..sitting in meditation for hours...and when you are told there are no miracle... you have to find your path of liberation yourself...so very tough ...........

but people want easy path....and it was given to them..just chant some mantra....read some shlokas.....donate cows to priest..etc................and you are in heaven....very easy way..and people adopted that.............
