Why Women Get Exploited Always

Recently we saw a lots of noise being made regarding,Whether to close the DANCE BARS in Mumbai or not. I being in Mumbai tried to understand this issue not only from this episode's point of view but from a larger angle as to why women had been getting exploited since ages and after a long deliberations, i thought to bring this issue for discussion out here on JATLAND.

Some of these dance bars and other similar joints are surely a breeding ground for prostitution and have a definite nexus with criminals but frankly these anti-social activities had been the part and parcel of society always and as such finding the origin will be very difficult. As long as there are repressed sexual urges and libidious men ready to spend hefty amounts of money for SOME FUN on the side and as long as there are women who love the easy money, this practice will only thrive in every street of the world.

I very strongly feel that till such time girl child is not given a fair chance to educate herself and to grow with dignity and self respect, women will remain opressed and men will keep on working as a pimp and THE TORMENTOR. It is indeed a big shame that a woman who is a creator is also being sold like vegetables in the market. It is a shame on all of us.

u have talked abt a problem n then the solution, and,i think, this is the only solution.psyche of human genesis has always been the root cause of every damn problem on earth, n the only way to fight it is to face it,to reason it out without any inhibitions n biases, which seems like quite a big problem in case of india where morals like integrity, honesty n righteousness r easily replaced by nepotism, favouritism and greed(just to mention a few)...

why not think other way

womens these days are going ahead of mens its not the issue of voilence against them but our mentality what is geting frustated coz of there improving social status i think we have to change this mentality hope we jat will change our mentality and let them be our better half

A Complex Issue...

Dear All,

This is a very complex issue and without clear cut answers.

In my view, and that view may not be what is universally thought of as correct, the biggest enemy of a woman is another woman. Surely men are men and will do what they think is correct, which is not necessarily right. I believe that a woman is responsible for supressing another woman when it comes to issues that we are discussing in this thread. This is a very sensitive issue needs proper handling.

It is a matter of demand and supply. The oldest profession in the world was thriving even before the 'Dance Bars' came into existence. The cause of most of these ills is of course the misplaced machoism of men. I don't know how it all started but I presume that men were supposed to provide for the family, often by overpowering other person's hard earned bread, and a woman was only supposed to look after the children. I think this started in the stone age. May be women were even considered to be some sort of a war trophy in later times or just an object to trade. Who knows.

But in the modern era the tragedy is that we see more atrocities against women in so called advanced societies and metropolis than in rural areas. I don't believe a small town has a red light area. But go to a metro and you have all kinds.

The question is as to how to educate our daughters and sisters. The challenge is surviving these 'so called advanced societies'. There is no point in even discussing as to what qualifies as 'Right' or 'Wrong'. It is time we discussed subjects that were 'Taboo' years back openly with our children. I discuss each and every topic under the sun with my son. If I don't tell him the correct thing, who will? Simple. The more we talk to our children, respect their sensibilities and address their genuine fears, I believe we would have done OK.

Regards,

JS Malik

You Are Right

Jagmohan sir, you are right. We have to keep our children well informed about these issues,so that they do not get shocks and are away from this murky bussiness. Right education at right time with constant reminders is the key here. Thanx for your timely inputs.

Dahiya Sahab,

You have raised the problem and then found answers yourself in the next para !!! Rahi sahi kasar Col. Malik sahab ne poori kar di. Aur kuchh kahne ko bacha hi nahin.

You are right it is a shame that though we are in the 21st century, call us ourselves civilized, but still there are some among us who leave no chance to opress the weaker sections especially women. When will we mend our ways ? Perhaps when women will be strong enough mentally as well as physically to hit the black sheeps back with full might. "kuchh log sirf lath ki bhasha samajhte hain". This apply fully to those who exploit the weaker beings.

Very interesting topic started by Dev Dahiya. Well the time i see is not that far when women will have last laugh. Its education that is going to make them self dependent and that will give them the confidence to get ahead in life. If you see atleast in USA i can talk about most of the banks are run by women. There are few who are even CEO's of companies. At the same time it will have some negative impact on family bringing up as to sincerely keep up with profession and domestic care is not that easy. Yes it is very important to have frank discussion with your children in today's high tech world. One shouldnot as a parent feel shy to discuss issues with children which we could never dare to do with our parents. Times have changed and we need to change with time too. Jats are still lacking behind in good communication with there children. We are very conservative community though some are changing but majority are not. It is better the children get first hand information from parents then other sources. I know i am quite off the topic but good education is going to do the trick which needs to come from home too. Unfortunately the oldest trade was flesh trade. So girls get the best education and no one is going to look down on you as you will be the boss and everyone listens to a boss.
