Why's everybody so obsessed with being 'aryan'

I've come across a lot of posts where people argue about their origin and are convinced they are Aryan and all that.
I don't know exactly about the origin of Jats, but its probably liknked with amongst other races, the caucasians.
But..what I've noted is that people are obsessed with this european connection and it makes me feel sad because people are not being true to themselves and they think they're white or something

I need not remind you that race is not as relevant as a person's character. we're not white people, get over it. Be Indian and be proud.

I have lived in two countries and traveled across three continents. I have known people of every race and walk of life that is imaginable.

I still recall how amazed I was when I met this Chief of a Native American tribe, for the first time. He was a tall lanky guy with strong mongoloid features. I had only seen people like him in old paintings and sepia pictures. Those guys have disappeared from the face of this country. They have either mixed with people from other races or died out altogether.

The reason I mentioned the Native American chief, is because when I think of him, I think of the millions of trashy white people who took his peoples' place in this great country. The supposedly superior Anglo-culture that "racially-aware" white people talk of exists only in theory.

Millions of trashy White/Aryan people live like the most degenerated human-beings. They smoke and drink heavily. Many do lethal drugs. Their girls are becoming pregnant before anyone realizes that they are not children anymore. Their women have children with several men. Their boys are spending their lives on their play-stations and Wiis. I really do not know what the next generation of White/Aryan people will look like.

On the other hand I know some highly intellectually-gifted people who have some excellent ideas. They love their fellow human beings and are raising healthy families. They teach their children to spend more time reading literature, philosophy, poetry, history etc.

But, such people are a minority among the supposed Aryan/White people.

The point I am trying to make is that the White-Civilization has some great achievements in the field of arts and thought, to its credit. Its great ideas that build great civilizations. White/Aryan civilization has had some great ideas and thus they built a great civilization, which also had its own downside to it. But, that is a different debate.

People like to be associated to greatness. That's why they like to be associated to the White/Aryan civilization.

It really does not matter what race or color you are. You can be white and be trashy beyond belief. You can be black or brown and be classy beyond belief. Its not the color that matters. Its the ideas that matter.

The election of Barack Obama is a classic example of what I am trying to say. His ideas are classically Anglo-European and he is a black man. Thus he appealed to wide swaths of the white majority in this country and got elected as the 44th President of this country.

Okay, but for a minute there are some interesting facets to the discussion here... I specially find that one very basic, inherent (hidden) premise of the thread very intriguing:

Does the obviously complete departure and difference within the language (and language base), facial-features, hair texture, skin color, body/height/built etc. of a typical North-Indian from their Southern cousins; an indicator towards the possibility of such race theory, and/or in a more politically correct way - this Aryan (or any other name for that matter) 'other' race theory might in some way maybe really have a validity to it from the pure physical/external support aspects???
