For those who do not know much about it... the first high-energy collisions are planned to take place on 21 October 2008. These collisions are set to be carried out in different phases. Initially, the intensity of collisions would be kept low as a precautionary measure. If things go as per expectations high-intensity collisions would be carried out else NOT.
