Pakistan beat Zimbabwe in the group match and thus registers first victory in this world cricket championship tournament. Pak had earlier lost two matches.
 
Sri Lanka beat England in group A match chasing successfully 310 run target set by England.

In this way, Sri Lanka succeeded in registering the highest successful chase for a 9-wicket victory against their rival team.
 
South Africa record their second highest score in World Cup history after opener Amla laid the foundation with an attacking 128-ball 159 to power his team to a mammoth 411 for four before Ireland were bowled out for 210 in 45 overs.

India's 413 for five against Bermuda in the 2007 edition remains the highest score.

India thrash Ireland by 8 wickets in the Group B match and thus continues to enjoy winning streak for the fifth encounter as well thus earning 10 marks in their group matches table. Shikher Dhavan's century and earlier 3 wickets snatched by Sami propelled this big match win in favour of India.
 
Sri Lanka beat Scotland by 148 runs in the group match played today.

Sangakara created history by scoring consecutive centuries in each of the 4 matches played in this series of WC.
 
South Africa beat U A E by 146 runs in their group much and thus ensures berth for semi final matches in the current WC championship in progress.
 
India beats Zimbabwe by six wickets and register their 6th consecutive win in the Group .

India heads the group with 12 points and thus storms into quarter final with unbeaten record against all the teams in this group.
 
By beating Ireland by seven wickets, Pakistan enters quarter finals in the WC.

In another group match West Indies humbled UAE to enter quarter finals.

Knock out stage first match of the current W C will be played on March 18, 2015 at Sydney between South Africa and Sri Lanka.

The second match will be between India and Bangaladesh on March 19 at Melbourne; and,

The third match will be played between New Zealand and West Indies on 20th March at Wellington.

The semi finals of the series would be played :

March 24 at Auckland; and another on

March 26 at Sydney.

The Final match would be played at Melbourne on 29th March, 2015.
