Of the three revolutions that Rahtee Saab mentioned, I support only one revolution.
I am for the American Revolution. It was against the unfair treatment of the colonial Americans by their British masters. All unfairness committed by the state must be met with strong resistance by the citizens of a nations. By that standard, I strongly think that a revolution in India has been long over due.
The French Revolution and the Russian revolution were just crusades against the wealthy residents by the poor ones. During French revolution one of the main critierias to exterminate the upper class was to just put anyone with blonde hair under the gillotene. That logic just fails to go down with me, easily. For any society to prosper, the poor must leave the rich alone becuase only the rich have the resources and reason to take entreprenurial initiatives. Only free enterprise can lead to overall properity for a society.
The Russian revolution failed even before it ended. It brought doom to so so many nations and their people. As I always say, former "soviet-block" nations are still having a tough time to recuperate erly two decades after the fall of the Berlin wall. Communism is sick. It was the worst chapter in Human history. Even worse than the Biblical floods.
I want people on this website to stop b*tching about America. It is a great country with a lot of wonderful people. They donate more money in times of need, than the rest of the world put together. When India was in need of food grains, we did not have the face to ask America for help, since we had already sided with the communist Soviet Union. American really did not have any incentive to help us. We were kicking their behinds on every international policy matter at international forums like the UN. People of India suffered during that period becuase of our government's bad foriegn policy. Blame our government. Do not blame America.
And Finally, Dev sir, I do not know if you were serious when you said go and assault some minister

Revolutions that are faught with guns and washed with blood never last long. It is the intellectual revolution that is needed for a lasting change. People have to change their mentality. They need to change the way they think. Indian society is very "collectivism oriented." Group efforts never provide an anverage response that is greater than individual efforts. People function efficiently when performing individually, becuase they know there is no one watching their back and their fate is in their own hands. We need to be more open to free enterprise and against any government enforcement of social welfare. I can go on and on.
I know I think radically. But isnt it a radical change that we all are looking for?
I apologize for all typose, since I just typed it up without paying much attention to such errors. The main point is to get the idea across.
