Bagh Raj

Rana Bagh Raj (राणा बाघ राज) (1619 - 1654) or Rana Shri Bhagraj Singh, Rana of Gohad (ninth generation). He succeeded Rana Uday Singh (1588 - 1619).

He died at Gohad, 1619, leaving behind four sons, the (ancestors of the eight "Athgar" families):

• 1) Rana Shri Gaj Singh, Rana of Gohad (1654 - 1690).
• 2) Kunwar Sham Singh, of Sadh. He had issue, one son:
• 3) Kunwar Anup Singh, of Dadrua. He had issue, one son
• 4) Kunwar Badan Singh, of Bhagwaso. He had issue, three sons

His successor

His successor was Rana Gaj Singh (1654 - 1690) who became tenth ruler of the dynasty at Gohad.

राणा बाघ राज (1619 - 1654)

राणा उदयसिंह की मृत्यु के बाद राणा बाघ राज सन 1619 में गोहद की गद्दी पर बैठे. उनके प्रारंभिक में भारत में मुग़ल सम्राट जहांगीर का शासन था तथा अंतिम वर्षों में सम्राट शाहजहाँ का शासन था. राणा बाघ राज की मृत्यु सन् 1654 में हुई. सन 1629 में अत्यधिक ओला वृष्टि से फसलें नष्ट हो गयी थी, तब राणा बाघ राज ने अपने सुरक्षित भण्डार से प्रजा को अनाज बटवाया था तथा किसानों से लिया जाने वाला कर भी माफ़ किया था.

राणा बाघराज ने कई तालाब खुदवाये तथा कुंए बनवाए. वह धार्मिक व्यक्ति थे. उन्होंने गोहद में कई मंदिर बनवाए. (Ojha, p.53)
