Dear Jatlanders,

Few weeks back the founders of SIDHANTWADI SANGTHAN (NGO) in Bijwasan has stopped unethical elements to get HAFTA from BUDH BAZAAR in Bijwasan. They reported this to Dupty Comissionner of Vasant Vihar Thana and other places.

Police ordered to unethical people (i.e. Hafta Gang) NOT to take HAFTA otherwise they will be punished and put behind the bars. And because of this HAFTA wassoolee got stopped. The gareeb people of BUDH BAZAAR are happy by the work of SIDHANTWADI SANGTHAN.

As we know that generally there is a link between police and unethical elements. The founders of SANGTHAN dont know for how long they can stop these unethical elements to get HAFTA from BUDH BAZAAR and ask for your SUPPORT.

As HAFTA GANG is angry and furiated by this activity of SANGTHAN. They are continously threating the SANGTHAN people for life. They also have a support of "local police" as they might give some amount to them as well. And this is a serious situation.

Now, the founders of "SIDHANTWADI SANGTHAN" are asking for your support....we are asking to you, that

ARE YOU WITH US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST EVIL?

just say

YES or NO

We will NOT stop our activities even if you say NO....but we will be pleased if you say .....YES.....

Also, we will just not fight againt this EVIL only, rather our agenda is very vast...its a FIGHT AGAINST ALL EVIL.

No, I am not with you in this fight on "evil."

Isnt taxation haftaa wasooli, as it too happens at the point of a gun. If you dont shed up, you go to jail.

If theres any fight against the evil called taxation, I will be the first one to join it.

No Tax is not hafta wassoolee

Dear Mr Dahiya,

Taxation CANNOT be Haftaa wasoolee, as Tax is the major source of revenue for the government. This revenue is used to build road, highways, security, defense etc etc.

If we dont PAY tax than the economy of the COUNTRY will be weakened gradually. If the economy is weakend.....then India will loose the pace of its current growth.

If each of us start paying our tax ONLY, then we will grow with higher pace. I know, I know ....politians, corporate etc etc dont pay tax completely and they use our money for their means....If others are not paying tax that doesnt mean that we should not pay too. If we will hide from Tax then it means, we are also culprit like others (who dont pay tax)...

For the argument shake we can question the amount of TAX and its utilization. Wrt amount its much lesser than developed countries. And tax is also the base of development of already developed countries. So we HAVE to pay tax. Wrt utilizatation, if 50% is used properly its fine. But if we dont pay our part, the 50% will decrease to 45%, 40%......10% ...then chaos.

Dahiya bhai, we need your support. Trust me, we are determined to do that but we cant do all this without you and your support.

Well I dont understand GUN POINT....You take care of yourself and bye for now.

So, you are with us or not? We need you to for the better utilization of TAX and prosperity of our country.

I will take you on one by one.

Answer a simple question. If you had the option to not to pay any taxes, would you still pay your taxes to the government?

Mr Sumit..writing just contrary does not make a man wise...its a very stupid thought that Tax is a hafta vasooli...where are you living come out of your bubble and see the world around you...without taxes you will not even get drinkable water. Better think before you say anything.

What do you think will happen to you if you did not pay your taxes?

Just answer this question instead of beating my head with pans and pots.

Dahiya Bhai ,

You are beyond logic ... so there is no use explaining to you that humans are social animals and thus have social responsibilities and duties to live up to.

Rana Sahab,

A good move by the people to rise up ,, my whole hearted support

Dhanywad Kharab Bhai....

We need your support, as you know its not an easy task. Their is so much evil around us. Terrorism, Cruption, Politicians (not all), Poverty, Uneducation, Starvation are just few to name. Our SIDHANTWADI SANGTHAN (and now yours too) is determined to work for OUR Country's PROSPERITY...

Thank you again for your support.

Dahiya and Malik Bhai aap kya kahatae ho? Are you with us?

What do you think will happen to you if you did not pay your taxes?

I normally hesitate to write in “Current Affairs” which has actually become “controversial affairs” !

It is not always an individual’s choice not to pay taxes. Taxes can broadly be categorized as “direct taxes” and “indirect taxes”. In Indian context, “direct” ones are very few such as Income Tax, House Tax, Octroi/ Toll etc. But the “indirect” taxes are a lot. When you buy any article from the market, you are automatically paying several taxes such as Excise Duty, Dustoms Duty (if buying an imported item), local taxes and above all, Value Added Tax (VAT), which has been implemented in most parts of India. If you buy an air ticket, it does contain an element of airport tax and one cannot avoid it. The same rule applies to “Tax Deducted at Source” (TDS) which applies to interest earned on bank deposits. Here also, the tax is deducted by the concerned bank itself - the individual has no choice but to pay it.

But in Indian tax system, which is still in doldrums, people do avoid direct taxes and go scot-free. It is only because of a corrupt system and dishonest officials. But it does not mean that this tendency is good for the health of the economy of a nation. Let one try to avoid paying Federal taxes in USA – the guy will be behind bars pretty soon!

If I donot pay taxes then I will be a CHOR, a thief. I worked as a doctor in a govt hospital...from where I was getting the pay...do govt grow trees or crops which give it printed currency. All the infrastructure around is only because of taxes.

I am always happy to pay taxes and I wish that I pay more taxes every year.

As Mr Kharab said you are beyond logic and to add to that a self centered person. There are poor people in this country also who need govt support.

So Mr Dahiya just look for the facilites around you and you will realise why you should pay taxes.

Ok!

I hope that there are some enlightened souls out here who have taken a lesson or two in economics, and will understand what I am about to say.

Government is an enforced monopoly. Once we put the government in power, it can make decisions without being chalenged by the voters. Since there is no threat of being chalenged for the decisions it makes, governments are monopolies, that are enforced by what we know as constitutions.

If you look at the supply curve of a monopolist that has no alternative (governments do not have alternatives. we have to live and abide by their decisions), it can supply any quantity at a given price. This leads to inefficiency, the burden of which is borne by the consumers or the voters.

Now, talking in more simpler terms. We pay the government for its services in terms of tax revenue. If we do not do so, we go to jail. Thats why I call it "haftaa Vasooli."

The irony is that the government can punish us if we defer our responsibilities, but the government behaves irresponsibly day in and day out, and there is no accountability on its part.

The only reason I see infrastructure around me like roads and other things is because government holds a monopoly over such services. What do you think will happen if government gave up its monopoly over roads. An opportunity will arise that will be capitalized by an entreprenuer, and the market process of demand and supply will determine the most efficient price that we the consumers pay. The price determined by a free market process is always more efficient than that determined by an enforced and unchallengeable monopoly.

Are roads and trees the only things you expect from government? Everytime I propose a private solution for public problems, people bring up roads. Are roads the end of the world? There is more in life to look into.

People blabber all they want because they do not have a pinch of knowledge about economics and talk from their heart and trash thier minds.

In any given case, the best services and facilities are provided by private entreprenuers unless the field is closed for private competition by the government. Look at how many people are switching to private telephone service providers from the tradition MTNL and BSNL services.

I have a simple question: If you had a choice between taxes and voting rights, what would you choose? be honest about it.

There is no logic in whatever you have written..

you choose govt every 5 years in India..everytime you vote you know you have to pay taxes..people only expect tax rebates not tax abolition with growing economy. have you ever seen any economist talking about over all tax abolition in election in any country in this world..just think on it and will know what economics is.

raods was only an example everything around you is Govt just open your eyes for that.

govt is not monopoly...monoploy is seen in private sector like you see Wal mart..microsoft..intel. Because of walmart so many people lost their business..its capitalism which leads to monoploy not the democratic govts.

its not about enlightened soul but about a responsible citizen...today you are avoiding taxes then what the country can expect from you if your service is needed at border...you will say give it to private entrepreneurs...yes we have seen that phase too...britishers were the private entrepreneurs who even looked after our borders but you know what kind of life our ancestors were in that rule. Now donot tell me that its our govts responsibilty to defend the borders and maitain law and order because if you say so than you have to pay taxes.

This is not a simple but a stupid question...in a democratic country voting is your right and paying taxes is your duty.

If you choose to give up your right then you can think what kind of govt you will get and what will happen to you. It does not look wise for an educated person like you to talk about deciding between voting right and paying taxes.

There is no logic in whatever you have written..

No wonder! You think there is no logic in what I said, because you lack the intellect to understand what I said.

You prove once again that you do not know zilch about economcs. Show some grace and walk out of the discussion and return with some feasible arguments.

Why do you think people expect tax rebates? Because you know how to spend your money better than government can spend it for you.

Yes I know of Economists who believe in total abolition of taxation. Go to www.mises.org

It is the home of the Austrian School of Economics. It differs from the traditional Kenesian school of Economics on matters such as taxation. Due to the Governments' focus on Kenesian solutions for Ecnomic problems, taxation has shot through the roof.

Every year in the US government spends nearly 40 percent of what the entire country makes. That stands out to be around 8 trillion dollars. And the government still runs budget deficits. What a shame. They are still short on money inspite all all th money they throw around on stupid wars and foreign aid.

raods was only an example everything around you is Govt just open your eyes for that.

Roads is the only example that people gie me because they lack any good examples.

I can give you ample examples of how free-market has made life better for us.

When the government opened up the telecommunication industry for competition, people did not stop having telephones at homes. Infact services have become much cheaper and more people have telephone service in India than before liberalization.

When government opened up the civil aviation sector for privatization, it did not cause the cessation of domestic flights in India. Infact it is much cheaper to fly within India with private airlines, than it was when it was dominated by Indian Airlines.

Give me one example of the service that the government has provided and has become cheaper for the consumer with time. I jsut know of things getting more expensive every year when government provides them to us.

govt is not monopoly...monoploy is seen in private sector like you see Wal mart..microsoft..intel. Because of walmart so many people lost their business..its capitalism which leads to monoploy not the democratic govts.

Yes! government is a monopoly.

When government makes a decision, is there a parallel decision maker that can challenge the government's decisions. Governments decisions are final. No one can challenge them.

What operating system do you use? Where do you buy your groceries.

Did microsoft put a gun on your head (assuming you use Windows) to get you to use Windows? Did apple put a gun on your head (assuming you use a mac) to get you to use a mac? Did some linux developer put a gun on your head to get you to use their product?

Or, dis Walmart ever put a gun on anyones head to get them to shop at walmart. It infact does an excellent job at cutting costs and passing on the savings to the consumer in terms of cheap prices.

There is an alternative to Microsoft's products and Walmart's groceries. If you do not like them you can use someone elses goods and services. Because there is a choice for the consumer in this case, Microsoft and Walmart are not monopolies.

Intel aint a monopoly either. You can always choose AMD processors if you do not like Intel's products.

And if you do not like any of the brands out there, make your own Processor. No one will stop you from doing that.

But, try building your own roads, and lets see if the government tries to let you do that.

That is why government holds monopoly over certain goods and services.

Do you think that Microsoft, Intel and Walmart will be there forever. The day someone sells things cheaper than Walmart, Walmart wont be there anymore. The day someone makes a better OS than Microsoft, it will bite the dust. And if you make a better processor than Intel, :D :D I will buy your processor. :) :)

its not about enlightened soul but about a responsible citizen...today you are avoiding taxes then what the country can expect from you if your service is needed at border...you will say give it to private entrepreneurs...yes we have seen that phase too...britishers were the private entrepreneurs who even looked after our borders but you know what kind of life our ancestors were in that rule. How would you rate the government on a scale of 1 to 10? 10 means you are very highly satisfied, and 1 means you have no hopes from the government.

Just like our government tells us that they are defending our borders, the Pakistani government gives the same Bulls**t to its people. Governments on both sides are fooling their people.

I do not want to have anything to do with this hosility. And I am sure most people on both sides think alike. Have you ever been to Pakistan? Have you ever spoken to the people there? I have. So you do not have the moral grounds to argue with me on this one.

I do not think that anything has changed after the British left, except for voting rights. And I do not wish to exercise that right either. Because I do not want anything from the government. I just want them to leave me alone.

I do not think that it is the duty of every citizen to pay taxes, just like it is not the duty of any resident to pay haftaa to a local badmaash.

But, for the sake of the argument, even if we assume that it is our duty as citizens to pay taxes, you are wrong. How well does the government despense its own duties. It fails miserable at just everythings. So if the government fails at its duty, why are we the citizens expected to be loyal and responsible about our duties?

I know what u r talking about...however, in india it is a democracy on paper...once u make fool out of people every five years.

The free market is infact quite a good concept for getting the luxuries as well as necessary objects cheaper for the common people. However, in india it is not the free market nor the free economics.

Mr Dahiya ..lets eee where we end up...

Logically go on the following...

First market...
!. Can you buy a sony Vaio with AMD processor..or how many compnies are there that offer AMD processor as much as Intel processor. Why cannot you buy a Sony vaio with AMD even though it is similar in quality to Intel produts...just go into depth and you will come to know what monopoly is.

2. if there is no govt then who will look after the aviation and telecom. There can be so many terrorist missusing the service.

3. Why the European union lately fined Microsoft for anti trust and monopoly.

4. It's not about you liking or disliking the hostility. Leave Pakistan and if I have been there or not but tell me what about war with China?

5.BSNL launched the one rupee plan and forced these private sector compnies to decrease their prices. Why donot these private sector compnies started with free incomming calls from start. All incomming calls were made free in India by TRAI..a govt regulatory authority...not by any private company willingly...and dtill BSNL is the biggest service provider.

6. You can make your own roads even in India..but not on others land..go buy land and makr roads...but for you others are not going to surrender their rights.

7. You know at what rate these capitalists hire illigal immigrants in big stires..way below govt norms.

8. We are far better than British rule

9 Transport is the lifeline of country..a good road can save you hours which can use somewhere else.

10. You gave a sites link but you didnot read in the same site that private schools are no better than public schools.

11. people give examples of the things which every ignorent person can see without problem.

12.US govt spend smoney to save its citizens...you can see the difference yourself...and there is lot more oil in Iraq than what they will spend.

13. Just giving one example of economists is not sufficiebt and kindly give the link page address not whole site

14.Now tell me in the last what do you except the govt to do for you/

We will discuss it slowly whenever we get time

Thank you Sunita..

You rightly mentioned ....the essence of the topic has left behind.

Bhaiyoon.....Rukh jao...Rukh jao...

Please answer the QUESTION....lets not divert from what has been requested from you...
