There came the "BADA DIMAG". Like we needed one.

A long thread............a strong topic!!!!!
some of jats have shown concern that now a days its trend that boys are marrying with punjabi girls.......
just look at histroy of few hundred years back........punjabis came into exitence when they started a khalsa pant .khalsa came from a arabic word khalis which means pure...they just made group which wanted to remain aways from normal society .most of people in this group were jats .
punjabi is just a sub section of hindu society with majority of jats.......
we all are aryans.
I personally dislike the drama surrounding marriage - I think it is totally uncalled for and has a bad vibe.
We are not living living in medieval times - so please drop the thinking as well.
If you have to spend your life with somebody, I think you should be the one to decide. You should not worry about what your neighbor thinks, or the people in the village think. If your parents love you and care for you, they will be on your side, they will have your back, otherwise they are one of those people who run when sh*t hits the fan. I would say go out there - interact, learn, enjoy, talk to people - believe me you dont have to jump on the marriage thing as soon as you hit puberty.
Is there no place for personal liberty and love for Jat Girls?
And what is happening in Bhopal and other places related to that incident in Bhopal where a Muslim Boy married a Hindu(sindhi) girl.
In this case culprits are These idiots from Bajrangdal and VHP.
IT is shame that the law can't throw the likes of Ashok Singhals befind the bars and not allow them bale under TADA or some other similar laws.

Let us accept the right of such girls who want their sons to be Tuteja ,Miglani ,Singla or pandey, bid them adieu with a heavy heart and ,Live happily afterwards.
and make them wonder why they were ever born a kharb or a dahiya or malik (no offense to any of these, just symbolic)....your attitude, i'm sorry to say, stinks.....and thats what you are perpetrating here...a totally exclusionary attitude for your daughters and sisters who might just think of having a choice of her own in her life....and then you people talk about female feoticide and gender equality....I have never come across such double talk as here...
U are too younger to understand these intellectual thing....... Let's wait until u advance for a single bit maturity......... Grow up fast.......All the Best........
..........
What probably Sumit meant was 'Sankiran or sankuchit'(Narrow) minded.
We need hundreds and thousands of jats having 'Badde dimag'( broad or open minded) with an outlook for tolerance and compassion.
It has happened just yesterday only in Faridabad where parents of Jat girl killed her husband who was a Brahman. They didn't approve the marriage.
Isn't shameful and barbaric act? Is there no place for personal liberty and love for Jat Girls?

Hi,
This is very interesting and debatable. Its really nice to see so many people coming up with their views on this particular topic.
I think we all know that marriages are made in heaven. This is a well known saying. When two people meet and their marriage is solemnized, it is believed that this is the wish of god. Marriage may be in the same caste or it may be inter caste. Marriages within the same caste mean that both boy and the girl belong to the same community. Intercaste marriage means girl and boy are from different castes .
But different castes have a different approach to a wedding, especially when it comes to an inter-caste marriage in jat communities its hardly accepted. All of a sudden, the boy and girl announce their undying love for each other, and their intention to get married with or without their parents’ blessings. Tense moments pass through the families. The atmosphere becomes highly charged and inflammable! Explosive! The family members avoid looking at each other. Every one prefers to keep to themselves, silence is a virtue. They whisper to each other. How to respond? How to react? How can he/she do it? None in the family dared to cross the boundary lines before. Never before! Shameful, for the entire family.
After the initial shock waves subside, the elders in the family put their heads together and have a quiet chat. They consider all the pros and cons of the situation.I think the anger should be contained. Instead of throwing them out, accept the inevitable, and like we all have seen a recent example of whatever happened in the case of faridabad is shameful !!Let them get married in the proper way, in the presence of the entire family.
After all its two people who have to understand each other through out.
Its good if one marry withen community but if any how one goes and marry out of community I don’t find anything wrong with it ,because we are after all humans first and we should not discriminate caste.
Atlast…understanding between two people and compatibility is more important for successful marriage where two people comes from different background all together…so its lilttle more in intercaste because culture changes..tradition changes..n at times language also..but at end of day adjustment and compromise is there in both cases…so one should not make issue out of it but rather change accordingly.coz nobody is perfect whether u go for intercaste or withen the caste marriage. People need to be more broad and open minded in this regard.
I’m with you on this one.
What an irony, nothing but the last name is critical for being a Jat.![]()
Has this thought ever crossed a "Jat" mind that perhaps a Jat woman marrying a non-jat might be able to inculcate more Jat values in her “half”(if you allow) Jat son/daughter as compared to the one marrying within the community?
Mind dissecting it more at the microlevel? Wots the difference between an offspring of a Jat man with a non-Jat woman (which is permitted and acceptable! ) AND a Jat woman with a non-Jat man, if for a moment we forget that it’s a patriarch society and the man’s name is inherited? Both are a mix (actually better scientifically) and what matters is how strong and/ or true a Jat, one of the Jat parent is so that he/she can instill those values in him/her. Rest is insignificant.
we're probably the same age Prashant, and thanks for just trashing my opinion by your assumptions......
I am not agree with these intercast marreges and these are problem for parants as well as for society also. We all who are supporting these marieges are saying the right of love for the girl but what about the love of their parents who thinks every time for the betterment of thier doughter(bitiya, gudiya). They are worried about the happiness and good life of the doughter. When a girl favour a boy known to her by 2-3 year or less then that and leave their parents for the boy, is it love ? no I dont think so, If a person wheather boy or girl not care the love of their parents (those spent their love, blood and hardearned money also to grownup the child) what gurantee they love forever to that lover. This is the only fear of the parents.
We must suport the love of the parents and family first then any individual.
With Regards
