Dear Sachin, thanks for your valued information,

Mr. Sajjan Kumar is a Jat & a leader also, YOU can say he is a Jat Leader but he didn't ever tried to be a JAT leader he was elected just because of full support of JJ colonies or SC thats why he is called Bhai Saab or Bhai Sajjan Kumar not Choudhary Sajjan Kumar.

I m not supporting BJP or Congress here and wish his brother wins the race.............?

Dear Sachin,

You need to get some more knowlege about jats, kya verma sunar hi hote hai?

aur ye logic wali hi bat hai ki choudhary to jawani main bhi aur budhape main bhi choudhary hi lagayega.

ye common word "bhai" aur kitne neta ya JAT netao ke aage laga hua hai, jara batane ka kasht karoge.

agar aap congress ke loyal hai to koi bat nahin par apni bat ko prove karne kay liye ulte seedha logic na lagao, main to pehle hi kah chuka hun ki Ramesh Kumar ko jitna chahiye but..........

Dear Mr. Sachin Baliyan and Mr. Verma,

Let us analyze the facts above. I really don't know how many times both Mr. Verma and Mr. Sajjan Kumar contested elections against each other. But if I take the above argument on its face value then two points emerge out:

1. Mr. Sahib Singh Verma winning elections from constituency where Jats are not in majority means to me that he was a more accepted leader by larger population across the community lines. That is a positive attribute to me.

2. Mr. Sajjan Kumar contesting from Jat dominated areas only (as mentioned above or as can be inferenced) means that he is more of a local community leader rather than a state or national level leader. That is not a positive attribute in political terms.

3. Jats had traditionally, voted against parties like BJP (I remember they used to call BJP as "Sarmayedaron ki Party") So, if Mr. Verma lost elections to Mr. Sajjan Kumar in a constituency dominated by the Jat majority, does not mean he lacked the leadership qualities or was not a more popular leader or more efficient leader.

4. If Mr. Sajjan Kumar had won the elections from any constituency irrespective of the demographics, then it is a positive sign about his popularity. But that has not been mentioned here.

What I intend to put across, that let us analyze every thing on face value, and along the lines of facts and figures available without being biased or prejudice against any party or any leader. If we do that the discussion is likely to be more educative and productive. If we keep arguing just because we have an unflinching loyalty to a political party or a leader, then we are likely to be biased about our views. Let me assure you neither a political party nor a particular leader can be adjudged as "PERFECT". Sometimes we intend to look for "Bad among the Worsts". I hope that is not the case here.

Absolutely correct, I m 100% agree with u Col. sahib.

what have these 2 leaders (who are jats) done for the jats?
It is obvious one poster has surname of verma so he could be somewhat biased but since I don't anything about verma leader who is jat I can't say he is completely wrong. The other leader according to some is a JJ leader and his 25 year old sikh riots controvesry is still going on(A lot of people born on that day in 1984 have already gotten married and many of them may have become fathers by now! Mera bharat Mahan!)

So what exactly have these 2 leaders (who are jats) done for the jats?

And to those few regular posters who deny anything wrong happpened:
A few questions:
Have all these journalists writing all these things about these controversial leaders gone mad? And are all of the witnesses liars? and you sirs should be believed over them? Am I missing something here?

Colonel Sahab,

Its pitty that when a leader like Sajjan Kumar raises his voice for poor people he is termed as Jhuggi Jhopri waalo ka Neta and on the other hand if Sahib Singh Verma ji wins from Baniya, Punjabi community dominated areas then he is termed as an accepted leader accross the community line.....Iska matlab jo Garibo ki awaaj uthaaye vo neta nahi aur jo ameero ke beech uthe vo Neta hai

Let me tell you Ch. Sajjan Kumar won the election from Madipur post emergency in 1977 when there was a strong anti congress wave which swept big leaders also.

Second thing earlier the Outer Delhi MP constituency was one of the biggest parliamentary constituency and i think the total voter number was somewhere around 25 Lakh(dont know exact figure) and this area has all the communities in big numbers,,,,be it Punjabi, Jat, Baniya, Pandit, Purvanchal, Sikhs, Other casts,,,,,,and Sahib Singh ji and Sajjan Kumar ji were face to face two times and on both the occasions Shere-e-Dilli Sajjan Kumar ji defeated Sahib Singh ji with a comfortable margin......

so which leader is accepted by all the communities.

For your information,,Shalimar Bagh is the MLA constituency from where Sahib Singh ji used to contes assembly election this area is pro BJP just by virtue of cast composition,,and hardly any Jats here.....

Outer Delhi was the countries biggest Parliamentary constituency for MP elections from where both leaders used to contest ......

Ye haalat hai Hindustaan ki....jo Neta garib, majdoor ki awaaj uthaata hai aur unka saathi banta hai uske virodh mein hamaarei padhe-likhe log khade ho jaatei hain aur jo insaan business community ki baat karta hai uske saath ye hamaari intellectuals ki fauj khadi ho jaati hai

Dear Mr. Sachin Balyan,

I don't dispute the facts that you are mentioning about Mr. Sajjan Kumar or Late Mr. Sahib Singh Verma. Obviously, both these candidates have won their elections at various stages of their political career in the past and Mr. Sajjan Kumar will win a few more to say the least.
To me winning the election is totally a different thing then being a leader. Late Mr. Jay Prakash Narayan, did not win an election or if he did (I am not sure even if he contested one) but was a far more popular and powerful leader than most who have been sitting in parliament for their entire life. Same was the case with Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi ( I am typing full name here because many of younger generation might take Gandhi as the Sonia Gandhi and family)
Mr. Sajjan Kumar has been in the Delhi politics for all his life. Congress has been in power for most of the time in Delhi. (It is either Congress or BJP in Delhi) I am wondering why a heavy weight like Mr. Sajjan Kumar who could win election in post emergency environment, never became the Chief Minister of the Delhi State? You have mentioned that Congress Leadership had to bowdown against his popularity to give ticket to his brother. If he is so powerful within the Congress and so popular among the voters across the caste line, then I am worried as to what is that factor that we are missing that has prevented him to get the highest post in Delhi Politics. The facts you have mentioned above about Mr. Sajjan Kumar's achievements are impressive and probably unparallel. If that be so, why not the highest post for such a leader?

Winning the elections has been a controversial thing in our country right from the inception. Even when the election reforms started with Mr. T N Seshan and CEC, booth capturing and fake electroral rolls was prevalent. I am sure things might be same or say a shade better now. Money was paid to poor people to go and vote, while the intellectuals did not take trouble to stand in a que for hours to caste their votes. For a laborar who was making a partry Rs. 50/- in a day those days, it was a profitable business to stand in que for few hours and get Rs. 100/- rather then work in the field/construction site and get paid Rs. 50/-. Muscle power had been used in past to intimidate the voters. We had seen in many constituencies in the past. I am not saying that this might be the case in Mr. Sajjan Kumar's winning the elections even when the odds were against him. What I am saying is that being the popular among the people that he is, having done the commendable work for the people that you have mentioned and being the power house within the congress party that you have mentioned, will it be possible for you to explain as to why such a gifted leader never got an opportunity to be the CM of the State?

I know the likely answer: The inner party politics. To that my next question would be, then what Mr. Sajjan Kumar did to fight that injustice being done to him by his own party. And if I take it on the face value, my worry would be that if a person could not fight for the injustice done to himself, how do we expect that the person would fight for the injustice done to his constituency? And if we can't find any logical and explanable resons for that then their might be some thing that does not meet the eye. If that be so, what is it?

I have never met Mr. Sajjan Kumar and really have never followed his political career except when he has been in the news for whatever reasons. So I am not a prejudiced person against him or for him. Similar is the case for me about Mr. Verma. I have only heard him speaking once in 2004 in the Jat Meeting in Delhi and to me he was a reasonable orator. In that meeting I also heard Mr. Sompal Shastri speaking and found him to be a better orator, then most those who spoke in that meeting. Obviously, many Jat leader like Ch. Ajit Singh, Mr. Chautala and even Mr. Sajjan Kumar did not attend that meeting.

My views are absolutely on the facts being presented by you all. And I am interested in knowing more.

Sir,

I agree totally with you.

I am spent 27 years of my life in outer delhi (Najafgarh) , i dont see so called glorified Sheer-e-Dilli Sh Sajjan Kumar doing anything here.

U go & see the villages , they dont even have proper drinking water...

aaj bhi paani week mein ek baar tanker se supply hoota hain..

Shame on such Projected leaders who have been in power for past so many years.

Also if some one is hell bent on projecting/defending someone , then we cant do much.

P.S. - i am not a supporter of any party.

Mr hooda i think in that sense govt have to generate jobs.....
for the betterment of a individual or a society but all this is so biased
they wont count them as a human being but as far as mr sajjan singh is concerned he did a lot in his constituency ....for jats & any other castes also ..........this time he bolded by intra hit ...........but i think his brother gets the seat this time ...............

Absolutely correct

1. Can anyone list what a MP should be doing for his/her constitutents?
2. Compare what these 2 leaders (who are jats) have done for their constituents and jats since they have become MP's?
3. Can you be objective please and not just give out your personal opinions but instead state facts?
My belief - In the end a politcian's quest for power overrides everything s/he may believe in.

kyun, bhai Sardar Indians nahi hai kya ??

Mind u, he is still main accused of 84' Riots .. aur agar famous Jat ho ya Jat Leader kya farak padta hai? he is criminal n plz don't justify it !

Agar koi Jat criminal hai to kya tum use support karoge ... ye to vohi baat hui jaise kuch muslims terrorist ko support karte hein aur like ye BJP wale Gujrat riots ko !

Bhaiyon, castism se upar uth ke socho agar desh ki pragati chahte ho to, iss desh mein kewl Jat hi nahi rehte !

I agree. This idiot was the reason why innocent sikhs died. A criminal is a criminal regardless of his race. Sikhs are Jat Brothers. There was a Jat that was invited by Guru Govind Singh. A Jat Sikh is a Jat first then a Sikh.
We must know the difference between guilt and innocence. He was guilty then he is guilty now, he must be punished. He has the blood of innocent people on his hand.

latest issue at vienna in gurudwara clearly projects that jat sikh and other sikhs are on different path and they have now their different gurudwara's.
