Khap Panchayat and Indian Judicial System

The Khap panchayat in true sense, gave proper justice and dictates after proper scrutinizing the case. Now the ignorant world (Jaankar Bhi Anjaan Banti hai)although they know the power of THE KHAPS. But the topic is that they have to remain in opposition(AADAT SEY LACHAR HAI) ,however and whatever the topic may be.They damn care the consequences.Now the thing is that "KHACHAR KEY BEEZ ZYADAA KHEEND GAYE".Rahee Baat JAT Kee Iskey Do hee Dushman Hai-JAT AND NON JAT[/U].
I agree today there are lot of changes.The changes are natural but we should not derail from the original path,the way it use to be.We should retain our old GLORY.

Bhai, kHAP PANCHAYATS, had been doing always good for the community concern and the society as whole, but unfortunately , some selfish people who donot have any connection with such organisations, are spoiling the name of khap panchayats and our uneducated media & yougth, lack understanding about such panchayats, ofcourse some panchayat elders are not changing as per the time and circumstances. The institution of khap has proved its worth for the period we have history & memories with us regards

SarvKhap meeting on issue of Honor Killing at Rohtak

“You are invited to SarvKhap meeting at Rohtak on issue of Honor Killing and related concerns”

Agenda brief: Program will start by offering a tribute to people who got killed in Muzaffarnagar riots. Call is sent to all caste representatives of Khaps across communities; main motto of the meeting is to condemn the Rohtak Honor Killing incident and to deliver the message that they don't support any honor killing. Further to submit a memorandum to president and PM of India to make the legal machinery more effective to prevent such cases in future. And some more points relevant to same issues would be discussed. A special press session is also scheduled to answer questions of press lobby……

This is all propaganda against the JATS , some person knowingly do this, otherwise how can be Khap in Bengal, Khap was just concept of Haryana , West UP & Rajastahan, Punjab. Please post reply at this site if possible and make them understand that Khap are even opposite of marriage in same village and how can they think so dirty. Also make them aware that Khan was prevalent just in Haryana, West UP ,Rajasthan & Punjab.

Actually, it is a wilful error of nomenclature on the part of Indian media that has attempted to associate this incident of WB with khaps. Khaps in Bengal are quite unheard of. This was kind of a tribal congregation which is not identical to khaps in character and functioning. Of course, the incident is a heinous crime but Khaps of Haryana, UP etc. have nothing to do with it and sections of media have tried to take this opportunity to settle scores with khaps. This amounts to yellow journalism and misrepresentation of facts. I heard one Capt. Dalal of Dalal Khap who tried to allay the misunderstanding but he was heckled by two ladies who were not willing to listen to him and also the anchor did not let him speak at length. But, he was very articulate and whatever he said was clearly comprehensible. He clearly dissociated khaps from such incidents while condemning the honour killings.

Sir, any online-link available to program in which Dalal Khap representative defended and differentiated Khaps from WB incident? Or any key-word to search that bite on internet, key-words like the name of that program or the name of channel or the name of anchor or the best if possible the direct weblink to program, I would like to watch it.

1) क्यों तो मलिक खाप की नेतृत्व में सर्वखाप हिन्दू व् सिख जनता को कलानौर की नवाबों के जुल्मों से छुटकारा दिलाने हेतु उस रियासत की चूलें हिलाती|
2) क्यों तो बागपत से गूँज लगा देश खाप के दादा चौधरी बाबा शाहमल तोमर 1857 में दिल्ली के उत्तरी छोर से अंग्रेजों की नाक भींचते|
3) क्यों 1763 में हरियाणा के तिलपत में औरंगजेब से वीर गोकुल जी महाराज सर्वखाप आर्मी ले के भिड़ते, और क्यों हिन्दू धर्म की रक्षा हेतु आगरा के लालकिले पे अपने शरीर की बोटी-बोटी कटवाते?
4) क्यों गोहद की सर्वखाप किसान, किसान क्रांति खड़ी करती?
5) क्यों बालियां खाप के चौधरी बाबा महेंद्र सिंह टिकैत भारतीय किसान यूनियन खड़ी करते?
6) खापें भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा नहीं होती तो बाबर इनके दर पे शीश नवाने नहीं चिदंबरम बाबू, वहाँ शीश नवाने आता जिस जगह को शायद तुम भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा मानते हो?
7) खापें भारतीय संस्कृति ना होती तो ब्राहम्णों तक पर जजिया कर लगा देने वाले औरंगजेब से तुम्हें कौन बचाता? याद करो जरा तिलपत का मैदान जहां सर्वखाप आर्मी ने औरंगजेब को संधि करने को मजबूर कर दिया था, तब पता लगेगा तुम्हें कि खापें कौनसी संस्कृति का हिस्सा हैं|
8) जाओ ज़रा उठाओ इतिहास और देखो कि कैसे इसी भारतीय संस्कृति के हिस्से ने तैमूर लंग और गुलाम-वंश की ईंट-से-ईंट बजा दी थी|
9) जाओ पढ़ो हांसी की वो सर्वखाप आर्मी द्वारा कुतुबद्दीन ऐबक के विरुद्ध मचाई रणभेरी की कहानी, जिसपे कि वापिस दिल्ली जा के कुतुबुद्दीन ऐबक भी खून के आंसू रो पछताया था, ये वही संस्कृति थी खापों की जिसने उसकी ऐसी हालत कर दी थी|
10) जाओ पूछो रजिया के अंश से कैसे खापों ने शान बचाई थी उसकी,
11) खिलजी के कुलंच और देखो जा के तुंगभद्रा के मंच आज भी खापों के शौर्यों के किस्से गाते मिल जायेंगे
12) सिकंदर लोधी बतायेगा तुमको, क्यों आया था वो सोहरम शीश नवाने, जाओ पूछो अगर तुम्हें भारतीय संस्कृति जाननी है तो
13) जाओ पढ़ो उस ख़त को जो 1857 में बहादुशाह जफ़र ने 1857 की क्रांति के कमांड खापों को सौंपते हुए लिखा था
14) जाओ देखो खापलैंड की धरती पर हर दस कोस पर मिल जाने वाले हर शिक्षा के मंदिर से कि उनमें किसकी सोच और पसीना लगा है, तुम्हें जवाब मिल जायेगा|
15) जाओ पढ़ो1857 से ले सितंबर 2013 तक चल खापों और मुस्लिमों के भाईचारे के किस्से, फिर पता लग जायेगा तुम्हें कि खापें कितनी भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा रही हैं

पी. चिदंबरम, तुम क्या खापों को भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा नहीं मानोगे, इसको तो 643 ईस्वी में महाराजा हर्षवर्धन ने मान दिया था, इतिहास नहीं जानते हो या खापें के मान-सम्मान, शान-प्रतिष्ठा से खिलवाड़ करने की नई बयार बहा रहे हो ?

और खापें कितनी भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा हैं ज्यादा पुरानी बात नहीं मुज़फ्फरनगर ही उठा के देख लो, अगर ये खापें और खाप वाले वहाँ ना होते तो विरोधी पक्ष तुम्हें और तुम्हारी बहु-बेटियों को घरों से नोच-नोच के खा जाता| शर्म करो कुछ ओ कागज़ के शेरो, आज तक ढंग से एक लड़ाई भी जीती है ग़ुलामी के दौर में तुमने? ये खापें खड़ी हैं तो तुम्हारा हिन्दू धर्म सांस ले रहा है, जिस दिन ये हट गई ना सौं दादा खेड़े की विरोधी तुम्हें तुम्हारे घरों में घुस के मारेंगे|

और यह मैं इसलिए नहीं कह रहा हूँ कि खापों का अस्तित्व खतरे में हैं, बिलकुल नहीं, मैं इसलिए कह रहा हूँ कि अगर तुम्हारी इस धूर्तता से खापें तुम्हारे धर्म से विमुख हो गई तो फिर तुम्हारी संस्कृति का भगवान ही रुखारा है|

और इनके वंशों के राजे-रजवाड़ों का तो इतिहास में लिखा ही नहीं है इसमें; अगर वो और लिख दिया ना तो तुम ये सोचने पे मजबूर हो जाओगे कि देशभक्ति और इसकी शक्ति-संचय के नाम पे तुमने और जिनको तुम भारतीय संस्कृति का हिस्सा मानते हो उन्होंने किया ही क्या है?

ये public appeasing की राजनीती करने के चक्कर में इतने भी मत गिरो कि अपने ही धर्म और सभ्यता पे संकट मंडराने लग जाए|

चिदंबरम बाबू पढ़ लो इस लेख को और समझ लो कि वाकई में खाप भारतीय संस्कृति हैं कि नहीं?

मेरे ख्याल से अब खापों को यह करना चाहिए कि इन तथाकथितों के चक्करों में अपने मुस्लिम भाइयों के साथ जो अपना भाईचारा बिगड़ा मुज़फ्फरनगर में, उसको ही वापिस बहाली के प्रयास हों, ताकि इनको पता तो लगे कि खापें सर्वधर्म की भी होती आई हैं और हो सकती हैं| कोई फायदा नहीं है इनके लिए मरने का, यह एक बार फिर से सिद्ध हो गया है| बिलकुल नाक भींच दे रहे हैं| और यही कारण हैं कि मुझे धार्मिक कट्टरवादिता से सख्त नफरत है|- Phool Kumar Malik

The wife of Devi Lal’s son and deputy chairman of state planning board, Ranjeet Singh, is from Ganganagar but her mother belongs to Chautala. “Ours is a very large village consisting of 10,000 voters. Though such marriages are taking place, it’s not always possible to avoid traditions and customs prevalent in other Jat areas,” said Ranjeet.

Even though there is no Khap system, People don't marry in 4 clans.
This rule of 4 clan is followed by most castes including Gujjar, Jat and Meena.
Most marriages are arranged in Rajasthan so no controversy,no honor killing and no uproar.DR Choudhary is wrong about prevalance of sagotra/same-village marriage in Bikaner. He may have an agenda.

Inter caste marriage acceptable to jat in Rajasthan ???
May be some exceptions like Vashundhra.
Even if there is no Khap in Rajasthan but you can't live in Rajasthani villages peacefully if you break social order. Even without threat of murder or boycott, people find hard to break norms because of issues related with honour and prestige.

May be in Sirsa but not in Bikaner.
Bikaner ke Jat mostly Bikaner or Churu district main shadi karte hain. And sometimes Sekhawati(Jhunjhunu,Sikar),Nagaur,Jodhpur,etc.
