US secretary of state Hillary Clinton's visit to India is the issue of talks these days. Iran oil supply and FDI in retail are the two main issues which are looked in to two main contexts - 1. American 2. Indian
American context - Some people perceive it to be appropriate. They claim that it is her duty to visit India to look for new avenues for business and all. But i do not agree with them as it is unethical. Building pressure on India by meeting a state chief minister for her personal benefits is not at all ethical. Lobbying a CM on a central issue shows how desperate she is on the FDI in retail.
Indian context - 1. Visiting a state CM prior to visit our PM reflects that a policy of 'Divide and Rule' is being executed by the astute USA.
2. Iran is our 2nd biggest source of oil and we should not restrict our oil import from Iran just for the sake of USA's happiness. India should take it seriously and should not bow to this pressure politics. It is the government of India, and not the USA, which has to decide where, how and what quantity of oil is going to be imported from which country.
India should take a firm stand on her foreign trade policy and leave an exemplary message not only to USA but also to all the other concerned countries.
