..people please be honest on jatland about ur identity nd do not misguide JL members..if u want to boast about urself...तो ठेके पेर ते एक अधिया ल्यो...दो तीन चमारा ने पकड़ो..अर्र फेर कितनी इ डिंग मारो ,पैर जाटलैंड ने बक्स दयो.. मुस्किल ते तो कोई इसा platform मिला है जिस पैर हम अपने घर पे बैठे बैठे कोई भी समस्या discuss कर सकते हैं और बहस कर सकते हैं ( बिना एक दुसरे का सिर फोड़े ..आमने सामने तो इसमें बी कई सिर फोड़ दे ) और अपने culture का आनंद उठा सकते हैं...
so, members with fake identity or profession please correct urself or leave jatland because a person who is not true to himself can not be true and loyal to jat community..

Why should we leave matter of credit, that is main thing, second poit of khap, dear ask your elders, even gotra is called
khap, even when many castes get tother, they are called serve khap so even a caste becomes khap,
I understand well as to why you are talking all this and a jai chand is giving you all such dirty ideas, but nothing will change nor Jai chand will get any thing.

Sorry sir but I don't agree . By the above sentences I can say that you don't have even the basic knowledge about the khap system So your claim to be a khap pradhan is spontaneously rejected..Let me say few words:

- A gotra is not a khap.. a khap is a cluster of several villages, they can be of same gotras and different gotras, sometimes a khap also includes different castes too. for example my village comes under CHAUGAMA khap..initially there were four villages in this khap..allof RANA gotra..later on other gotra villages kept on adding in this..now total villages are 40..apart from rana there are chillar, rathi, panwar etc
- khap having a chaudhary not pradhan..and that is not elected..that is inherited..you can not be khap chaudhary if your father was not a khap chaudhary
- sarv khap is where all khap combines together..of all castes and all gotras...soram was the head quarter of sarv khap

So just for the sake of making yourself a khap pradhan ..please don't distort the khap concept

so you can be a representative of few kharb villages appointed by kharb people not a khap chaudhary..and there is no shame in accepting that rather than proving yourself a khap pradhan..that is also a quite dignified post...and everyone can make mistake in writing...so you can say that I am representative of kharb gotra people..that is enough.......

Are you sure it is hereditary? I thought I read somewhere earlier that it is some respected elder chosen by consensus (not elected exactly, but not hereditary either). Maybe in practise it is hereditary in some places as chaudhary's son would have more exposure.

Genuine question, lest anyone takes otherwise.

Ok..may be few centuries ago..it was getting elected..but i know 5-6 khaps around my region..and in all of that ..it is inherited..khap chaudhar is inherited ..but other members of khap can be elected......may be it is not inherited in some region of haryana..can someone enlighten us about this?

yes dahiya khap has pradhan , which is not inherited and in haryana pradhan is called not khap choudhary dahiya chalsa (40 dahiya village ) of sonepat district , In haryana any one can become khap pradhan but with unanimous decision by large number of same gotra another examole is rathi khap of sampla mr ramphal fram parnala village is pradhan but earlier
some other village person was pradhan may this way is in practice IN UP but not in haryana , Chougama ,athgam, barehe, satre etc are bahi chara panchayat or ghawand panchayat not the Khap panchayat , even in delhi, my village has satra (17 village) panchayat but khap is chouhan , another example is one village in delhi named bawana bawani which has 52 villages of sehrawat gotra but local gahwabd panchayat has only 7 villages here in delhi and haryana khap pradhans are not inharited.

let me tell about three biggest khaps of west UP desh khap(84 villages), balyan khap (84 villages), gathwala khap (52 villages)..in the two generations i have seen this khap chaudhar inherited...
...as for balyan khap first mahendra singh tikait was chaudhary..now his son naresh tikait is chaudhary....for desh khap (tomar) first sukhbeer singh was chaudhary ..now his son surendra is chaudhary..same is for gathwala kahp but i don't remember the name..and as you told about haryana i am not pretty convinced..i need input from someone else in haryana...

let me ask you few things..u want to say that..

1) a khap includes village sof same gotra..and that off same caste..it can not have mutiple gotra and caste in it..for example...as you talked about haryana..meham chaubisi have villages of several gotra..so meham chaubisis is a khap or not..and please don't tell about thamba, satre etc..?

2) In haryana after a khap chaudhary (pradhan. as u called that in haryana..u don't have a khap chaudhary) abandon his post or somehow he dies...new khap pradhan is elected..and that will not be from the immediate family of that khap most of the times?..if yes how this is done please elaborate?

3) if we have a khap dominated by one gotra..suppose gathwala khap in UP..so if any gathwala gotra village does not come under the region of that khap....suppose that gathwala village exists in the middle of dahiya khap villages in haryana..that gathwala village still will be counted under gathwala khap?


and mR . deepak malik..what is your khap and who is your chaudhary or pradhan...can u please tell..as you are a gathwala and from haryana?

@Prashant : Bhai mhari 84 gaama ki gathwala khap hai. 3-4 saal pahla tak Dada Baljeet tha mhari khap ka pardhaan. Ar wo sarv-samatti te chunya gya tha. Hmari side inherited nahi hoti khap ki chaudhar. eeb mai touch me nahi hu iske to ab kon pradhan hai wo mujhe pata nahi. baki mai kal bta dyunga sanjh ne apne dada te boojh ke.

Bhai shayad alag alag hisaab hai har khaap ka....
Sangwan Khap mein inherited hoti hai.... Charkhi gaam mein ek parivaar hai, us mein se hi Sangwan khaap 40 gaon ka pradhaan hota hai....Filhaal Col Risaal Singh Sangwan pradhaan hain !!

First one u ask meham chaubisi , it is not khap pancayat its a collective gahwand panchyat of 24 villages you can confirm it from mr pappu his number is 09213096945 , he belongs to one of 24 villges fall under chaubisi.

Second you ask how khap pradhan is elected it decided on unanimous decision taken by all gathered people on that day , at that many names are proposed by different villages , one can himself proposed his name also but the decision is taken by large number of people who favors one name.
yes if gathwala village exists in middle of dahiya khap , it is counted in gatwala khap not in dahiya khap , but their is local ghawand panchayat where some adjoining village makes it.
