I have tried a lot of times to contact Mr. Manveer Saini, but he is not picking up the call. I am sure he knows that he has reported the wrong thing!! Could any of you please try to ring him and get the details.

i contacted mr.manveer saini ,he is saying that mr. chattar has given him all the information and he has collected these information from CNN-IBN channel also.
i told him that u first have to authenticate whetever u are writing, he said that the fault is from ur community that there is no regulation of selecting the representative.

i told him that we will contact mr.chattar and if the information is incorrect or he apologise then u have to write that news also but he said there are rules and guidline from their side that they will follow. mr. manveer saini looks a genuine person to me and he has shown no interest in defaming khap.he wrote whatever is told to him.

There is no Thua Khap. First of all, he needs to acknowledge this and should edit his article and apologise for wrong reporting. Then we need to find out about Mr Chattar. Whether he is a leader of Khap or not. If he is not a leader of Khap then he does not represent Khap's views on this. To me, Mr Saini's article is full of sensationalism and poor journalism. If whatever he has written is incorrect or partially incorrect, we should take him to the courts!!!

Also I agree with you and Praveen Brazad regarding the spokesperson.

There should be one person who can speak on the behalf of all Khaps after having a consensus.

I know it is not as simple as it looks.

There are people in our community who are attention seekers and want to get highlighted.

But still this issue can be raised in Sarv Khap Panchayats that this highly unorganised system is hurting not only Khaps but also Jat community as a whole(Since there is a general perception in rest of India that Khap means Jats).

Otherwise the whole community will continue to suffer and days are not far that Khap will loose the legacy!!

CHHATAR is a village in district Jind ,Tahsil Uchana ,having MOR gotra JATS. So this mr. Jitender must be some foolish men who for publicity stunt give a statement to get published. This CHHATAR-THUA two village adjacent so the name is called combined as CHHATAR-THUA. So its a need of time to have control on this type of guys who give baseless statements in media and whole of JAT community feels humiliated becoz of this type of statements.

..damage to the community is the real concern here rakesh bhai..if this statement he had given in any panchayat then there there is no issue, but its published in times of india and now tell what people will think of our community.

I spoke to Jitender Chhater and Manveer Saini and of course a Khap Pradhan too even before I spoke to these two.

Jitender Chhater says Thua Khap consists of some 26 villages around Jind and he is Yuva Pradhan of same for last 3 years and one Om Prakash is the Pradhan of Thua Khap for the same period. He is 26-27 yrs old and his Gotra is Punia, not Mor.
This Jitender is from Chhater village, runs a school in his village, has some property business in Chandigarh( who does not have property business these days! ), is BJP member, donated 1 lakh to Jat Aarakshan Samiti .....aur Jat kaum ke liye jaan deney ko taiyaar hai!!!(kaum ki jaan lega, ya dega, i wonder).....

So, one can imagine what kind of Khap leader he is.
He is there to make his political career and this seems to be the easiest way out.

So Manveer Saini is not to blame as much as these self-proclaimed Khap Leaders are.
Saini is a reporter doing his job. Roti kama-kha raha hai.
He seems much better than Siwach.

Action needs to be taken against such opportunists who bring bad name to community.
But who will take action?
Khap leaders too seem helpless in such matters. All these people having political ambitions are using Khaps.
Many within Khaps have political ambitions.
Everyone wants to be in news, want their name to appear in newspaper.
All want to be Spokesperson.
So much confusion.

I spoke to Mr Manveer Saini regarding this controversial article. Mr Manveer said that he got this information from some regional news channel. When I said there is no Thua Khap in Haryana, he replied, its good that you pick it up. We will take care of it in future before publishing the news.

If media publishes a factually wrong news they have a provision to come out with an apology, please ask him for it.

अगर प्रेम विवाह अवैध है और उसपे घरवालो का हुक्का पानी बंद होता है तो फिर बलात्कारिओ के घरवालो का क्यूँ नही? विवाह कर के एक पुरुष नैतिक ज़िम्मेदारी ले रहा है सामने अपनी साथी की.

खाप के चौधरी तथा खाप पंचायते हमेशा से ही तुगलकी फरमान / सलाह जारी करते रहे है l शादी की उम्र घटने का तर्क देना भी उसी कड़ी हिस्सा है और मानसिक दिवालियेपण को घोतक है l खाप पंचायते बात बात पर लोगो का हुक्का पानी बंद कर देती है तो फिर इन बलात्कारियो को हुक्का पानी बंद कर समाज से बहिष्कार क्यों नहीं करती l मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि हम ( जाट बिरादरी) में अपनी कमियों को स्वीकार करने क़ी हिम्मत नहीं है और जब तक हम अपनी कमियों को छुपाते रहेंगे तब तक हमारा सुधार नहीं हो सकता l

मैं ये मानता हु कि समाज (खास कर जाटो) को एकजुट रखने में खापो को महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है और अतीत में इस के कई अच्छे परिणाम देखने को मिले है लेकिन आज के परिदश्य में पचास-साठ पुरानी मानसिकता नहीं चल सकती समय के साथ बदलाव जरुरी है जो ये हमारे चौधरी करने को तैयार नहीं है और हर बात का दोष किसी ना किसी पर थोपने क़ी कोशिश करते रहते है l ज्यादातर खाप चौधरी दोहरे चरित्र के लोग है अपने लिए नियम कुछ और दूसरो के लिए कुछ l मैं आपको एक उदाहरण देता हूँ उत्तर परदेश क़ी एक काफी बड़ी खाप के चौधरी ने २ साल पहले लड़कियों के जींस पहनने पर पाबन्दी लगायी थी जबकि उसकी पोती जो गाज़ियाबाद में रहती है, आज भी जींस पहनती है (मैं जींस पहनने के खिलाफ नहीं हूं )l वैसे भी ज्यादातर चौधर परिवारवाद क़ी परम्परा पर चल रही है इसलिए जनमानस क़ी उम्मीदों के अनुरूप फरमान / फैसले / सलाह (जो भी कहिये ) नहीं आ सकते l

काफी लोगो का कहना है कि मिडिया खापो के बारे में गलत सन्देश दे रहा है मैं इस बात से बिलकुल भी सहमत नहीं हूँ क्योंकि मिडिया का काम है बुराई को दिखाना (कहावत है ना - अच्छाई चले दो कोस बुराई चले बारह कोस) l खाप पंचायतो और खाप चौधरियों के अंट शंट फैसलों / सलाह की वजह से जाटो क़ी छवि ख़राब हो रही है हम सब को गहन चिंतन करना चाहिए l प्रकृति परिवर्तनशील है और जो वक़्त के साथ परिवर्तित नहीं होता वो पीछे छूट जाता है

ye khaap wale hamesa koi ne koi nya rule bnane lag jate hai....ye government se affected areas me police protection ki maang kyun ni krte...or koi aisa rule kyun ni pass krwate ki jyada se jyada padhe likhe 9jawano ko police etc.. me bhrti krwaya jaye...isse 9jawano ko rojgar b milega ar protection b hogi...na to thhalli baithe ye nyu e galiyon me ghumte rahwenge or crime hota rhega aise hi...
