Regional political parties are getting crushed as they try to Akali Dal in 80es. Congress & BJP getting away riots in New Delhi & Gujrat. Politics & Media is run over by corporate system, no one can run politics with out wealth compete with politicians funded by corporations. On the contrary I find this regional party system the main reason for most of the corruption. Akalis, INLD, SP, BSP, AIADMK, DMK etc etc etc have always made headlines for their corruption and the reason attributed is simple rotation of power and benefits of divided public.
Here is the invisible side of regional politics: the buying and selling of MLAs and MPs happen because of fragmentation of votes by regional parties. Parties with 2-3-4 MPs do not support any govt for nothing, ministerships plus money is often bartered. Also, it is due to the regional party system that government can not take strict actions. In first term Left abandoned UPA on all decisions related to US, even those which were thoroughly in our favor and in UPA 2 Mamta's fiascos are well known.

Regional parties are corrupt in an unsophisticated way. National parties are corrupt in a sophisticated way. The avenues of corruption available to National parties are hardly available to regional parties. How do you ask for a bribe in a corporate shop, when the headquarter is outside the state? How do you control a media that sits in Delhi?
The national party will directly talk to the bosses at the national level. That is why regional parties ask for portfolios like Telecom (DMK) so that they can take a bigger bite that is just not available on their turf. I don't know the details of this case and it is nice to see any politician getting convicted for corruption. But to be honest, a scam of JBT teachers recruitments looks like a petty crime when compared to 2G, Coalgate, etc. It is an order of magnitude difference.

चंडीगढ़ : पंजाब एवं हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार को जनहित याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए कहा कि हरियाणा टैक्स टिब्यूनल में चेयरमैन और सदस्यों की नियुक्ति नियमों व सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्णय के खिलाफ है। चीफ जस्टिस एके सिकरी पर आधारित खंडपीठ ने हरियाणा के एडवोकेट जनरल हवा सिंह को निर्देश दिया कि वह एक सप्ताह में सभी पदों पर नए सिरे से नियुक्ति के लिए सरकार से दिशा-निर्देश लेकर कोर्ट को बताएं और नियुक्ति में कोर्ट की सलाह लें। खंडपीठ ने कहा कि पिछले साल सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुजरात राजस्व आयोग के चेयरमैन के बारे में जो फैसला दिया था, उसके तहत यह नियुक्ति नियमों के खिलाफ हैं। इस मामले में हाई कोर्ट सीएम भूपेंद्र सिंह हुड्डा समेत हरियाणा टैक्स टिब्यूनल के चेयरमैन, तीन सदस्यों व प्रदेश सरकार को नोटिस जारी कर जवाब मांग चुका है। याचिकाकर्ता ने सीएम पर आरोप लगाया है कि उन्होंने भाई-भतीजावाद के कारण एक सदस्य युद्धवीर सिंह को दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी। याचिकाकर्ता ने कहा कि युद्धवीर सिंह एडवोकेट जनरल के साले हैं और सीएम ने उसे दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए नियुक्ति दी। हाई कोर्ट ने केएस भौरिया को अध्यक्ष और सुभाष कौशिक, मुकेश लता गुप्ता व युद्धवीर सिंह को सदस्य के तौर पर नियुक्त करने में कानून प्रक्रिया की अवेहलना पर कड़ा रुख अपनाते हुए सरकार से जवाब मांगा था।

I agee with you Sunny bhai. Bhuppi is no less. If you look at all recruitments under congress rule since 2005 you will find similar cases nepotism and favouritism. Its just a matter of time.
It's a verdict in the lower courts.....wait till it comes to a reappeal. I don't think they are going to spend 1 day of that verdict. Maybe they will get bail not that quickly and spend a few months in jail, but they will not go to jail and they wil keep doing this for the rest of their lives.

You are right I agree with you, If we go to early time most of the teachers in Haryana were refugee punjaban khatri & bhappi, in any case if there is increase in teachers from rural areas then this unfair means is also good. These teachers teach mostly in villages and if by fair means 90% of teachers are from these urban mind persons then it is more harmfull, I remember when I was in my village school in class 6th & 7th I hardly found any teacher taking interest in teaching and they were doing it intentionally , they were good themselves in study and selected by fair means , only 4 teachers who were from neaarby villages took interest in teaching. Output of all those good educated teacher was 0 or -ve , and those teachers from nearby villages took the interest were giving good output.

इस घटनाकर्म पर पिछले दिनों से हरयाणा में काफी कुछ सुनने को मिल रहा हैं की यह सब क्यों हुआ किसने करवाया आदि । कुछ लोग इसका जिम्मेवार कांग्रेस को बता रहे तो कुछ अन्य ही कारण बता रहे हैं तरह तरह की बाते निकल कर आ रही हैं ।
हरयाणा में कांग्रेस 2005 में आई हैं जबकि यह मुकदमा उससे पहले का हैं । उस वक़्त केंद्र में भाजपा थी , इस मुक़दमे पर उसी वक़्त गौर करना चाहिए था । रही बात सीबीआई की तो इसे तो हर सरकार अपने हिसाब से चलाती हैं इस बार यह कोई नया कारनामा नहीं हुआ । गुजराल , गोव्ड़ा सरकार के दौरान भी सीबीआई को ले कर काफी हंगामा रहता था , उस वक़्त जोगिन्दर सिंह इसके डायरेक्टर जरनल होते थे ।
दूसरा इस मुक़दमे में ख़ास पहलु यह भी हैं की इस मुक़दमे का जो जज हैं उनके पिताजी गिरधर गोपाल व चौटाला साहब की पुरानी खुंदक थी । गिरधर गोपाल पुलिस में थे व भजन लाल के नजदीकी थे , उन्होंने भजन लाल के लिए फतेहाबाद में बूथ कप्च्रिंग तक करवाई थी । जिसमे चौटाला साहब से उनकी काफी ठन गई थी । बताते हैं की जब गिरधर गोपाल रोहतक में थे तो चौटाला साहब ने यहाँ तक कहा था की अगर गिरधर गोपाल रिटायर भी हो गया तो भी इसकी वर्दी तो दूर इसकी हड्डिया तक निकाल लूँगा । इसलिए कुछ लोग बताते हैं की जब जज ने सजा सुनाई तो चौटाला साहब ने कहा भी की '' बेटा अपने बाप का बदला ले रहा हैं '' ।

सुरा भाई, ये तो किसी पिक्चर की कहानी सी लग रही है| इसकी पटकथा लिख कर राम गोपाल वर्मा के पास चलते है उसने असली ज़िंदगी पे पिक्चर बनाने का बड़ा शोक है.|

I do not think national media influences regional voters to a great extent beyond a few neighboring Delhi states and metros. Each state has a bunch of local newspapaers and TV channels which are well controlled by local politicians. In southern, westers and eastern states local language channels are most watched. And I can say this cause I have worked on a media campaign for a national party and several other media campaigns.
As far as corporate shops are concerned, if your state has major factories and someone is investing crores of Rs. the businessman come to the CM first who controls local benefits, police, state taxes and subsidies. It is mostly state govt policies that matter the most to a business than national(which is most often FDI or Tax related only). Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a fine example of how the state machinery is exploited to get big heads interested in business on a state level(though not the case of a regional party here). Another example could be of Punjab where in farmers are benefiting from contract farming and state govt is supporting it and PepsiCo and McDonalds is working with state govt and farmers.
A crime is a crime is a crime. Both 2G and Coalgate are under investigation and we would be unfair to compare the 2 to prove JBT teacher scam sacrosanct. Problem is with our judicial system, if it took almost a decade for JBT teacher scam to convict chautalas, you can well imagine the pace at which those big scam cases will flow at.
