Well... MF Hussain painted Hindu god/godesses nude so it is like painting Sikhs gurus or muslims prophets nude or may be Jesus or mary for showing art & earning money .So are you okay with that & any community should not bother about that ?
You know a Danish cartoonist made a non-nude cartoon of Mohammad & I do not need to tell what happened in muslim nations. Here in India , in west UP , Meerut a muslim MLA Haji Yaqoob Qureshi protested with his supporters & declared a bounty of crores on head of that cartoonist with an offer to give gold to the muslim who would kill him. What was that my dear secular ?
On Vishwaroopam, I have watched the movie to know how it hurts the sentiment of muslim in general & Tamil muslim in particular. Surprisingly, I have not found anything in that. You are also free to watch , it is great movie & Kamal acted quite well as usual.
If Hindus were appeased like that then Oh My God would not have been released at all.

I don't dispute that, but there are always some groups who find something offensive. Like you pointed out about Hindu goddesses above. The point is either we do for one or not at all.
This is where you lack understanding and give yourself away as a noob whose read up on online forums where the Hindutva trolls flourish. EVERY community in India with votes is appeased, period. Who's appeased more or lesser depends on who you are talking to.
The tragedy is that the real communities who are wronged against and need appeasement of some kind are the poorest and deprived - tribals and other deprived souls. But I guess they don't have internet warriors to defend them.

I agree with the idea of followers of a religion deciding what is to be allowed. But I don't remember a referendum to seek views of Hindus regarding the MF Hussain issue. Who decided on Hindus behalf? And how are the same representatives of Hindus ok with allowing temples of Khajuraho to stand?
Hinduism being a tolerant religion is debatable. Almost every religion has a soft underbelly of the subjugated and vanquished.
But who decides if the act is offensive?

The fact of the matter and the gist is that Hindus have been the sufferer and victims at the hands of religious terrorism fomented by Muslims and Sikhs (earlier) and the irony is that the victims/sufferers are called communal and wrong doers.
Hindus are wrong doers, that is why the Muslim population is relatively increasing in India. Hindus are wrong doers and that is why Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan come and settle in India.

Instead of being hypercritical, let's further reform it as it has been reformed since the time of Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Similarly, Christianity has reformed and evolved since the middle ages.
Better still, if you think that Hinduism is just the cunning Bahmans (Brahmins) and not you, would it not suit you or any other brother to renounce Hinduism and join any other better religion. Why suffer under the Bahmans?
