Kashmir election: A step towards the political change

Is it right time to give the command of Kashmir valley to Safforn Party?

  • Total voters
    23
  • Poll closed .
Friends,As election commission of India has announced the assembly election in the Jammu and Kashmir. Now Kasmilr valley could be a witness of newly emerged political equations in coming days. One thing which has the worth to be observed is that how does BJP perform. As we know about BJP's performance in last general election which has amazed to all the political analyst. It is the time when we can expect some more unexpected outcomes from J&K state assembly election. But question is here:## How will Congress, NC, BJP and PDP perform?## Will these election be helpful to decide the fate of kashmir if dark horse BJP comes into the power?## What is the possibility of post poll alliance in J&K in case of hung assembly?## Will BJP become successful to form its first ever government in valley? We can smell a change in Valley's political taste. It seems liberal kashmiri women are showing confidence in Narendra Modi style of leadership. An article here:http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...n-movement-in-valley/articleshow/45084722.cms

Jammu has 41 se seats, most of them will go to bjp. Kashmir has remaining, there things Wud not be so good for Bjp. Looking at bjp's performance we can't rule for the unexpected

BJP has strong hold in Jammu & Laddakh region followed by congress. The Valley is going for PDP, congress, NC. It seems that PDP and congress may go for seat adjustment to fight the election and garner sizeable seats. But there is no wonder if PDP/NC joins hand with BJP to form the govt as post poll scenario......

BJP should sweep the Jammu region and with a little help from the Valley they should be able to win the assembly elections. There was recent news BJP had made overtures to ex-militants like Sajjad Lone in the valley. Wonder how that will sit with their cadres in Jammu and elsewhere.

To get into power, thugs/goons can go to any extent. Man of dramas and illusions will make these people fool as usuals. He will show them all dreams and after power will disappear!

For once you are right. The thugs/goons started voting, instead of boycotting elections in support of their demand for high treason, just to get into power.

Why delay now? God has created the atmosphere. No history of flood in Kashmir in recent decades and as soon as Modi became PM, there was flood. Pakistan failed to give sufficient aid to PoK people, while India succeeded in giving sufficient aid to its people. As a result PoK people want to merge in India. So why delay now?

Dekhna hoga - Roti ki Bhookh Jeetegi ya Khudaari Kashmiri musalmaan ki !

That would be a tough choice for anyone!

But to be honest, disregarding the economic low point due to the floods, Kashmir hasn't been a poor state where people went hungry. Its abundant natural resources and the well established handicrafts, carpets, dry fruits, apple and tourism industries generate a lot of revenue. Kashmir hasn't performed as well as the top states like TN, Gujarat etc but its better off than the BIMARU states.

Not to mention, the militancy problem has made the govt. offer sops like very low rates for electricity, water and other civic amenities. This keeps the cost of living down.

It would be immature and naive to think that floods and associated relief works will wipe away the past. Even the man leading the relief operations, Commander of the Northern Sector, Gen DS Hooda mentioned " The relationship between the Army and the people of Kashmir, and the past history cannot be swept away by the floods and media reporting of this disaster. It is something that we have to mutually work on to earn each other’s respect. "

So we must hold our horses if we think these elections will change everything. As it is, the recent unfortunate death of the boys in Srinagar has vitiated the atmosphere.

Agree. But things have changed a bit. Their stand of Army has softened. An eyeopener for people was that its only the ARMY which stood by and carried out the relief work.

I would differ. Two reasons - Yes, the Army helped and saved many people, but the scale of the disaster was so much that it left many stranded. Again Army did everything that was humanly possible, but this makes the relief operations not as much a success as was reported in the general media. Already some non-mainstream media outlets were showing areas where no help had arrived. Again, not the Army's fault.

Second, Kashmir has a thirty year troubled history. Generations have lived through conflict. As Gen Hooda said, I don't expect it to be all forgotten very soon.

Whatever be the results of upcoming elections, people of J&K should get a good government which in turn proves good for the country.

Absolutely. Good governance is essential and may go a long way in helping the disturbed situation in the valley.

But on a different note, I do not believe it will solve the Kashmir problem. For that, we have to demilitarize and open up the valley, connect it with PoK and then allow them the joint entity to decide its future in a given timeframe. That was more or less the formula created by Vajpayee and Musharaff. But this formula does raise a lot of questions and doubts which have to be addressed at a deeper level. Trust is the major issue.

My friend, the drama man is making people fool already and there are many followers of him.

Ofcourse leaders from Bharat Jalao Party are biggest thugs and radicals who can go to any extent and any level to get into power and then do the corruption.

A very good point my friend. This is the need of hour. Demilitarize the valley can help and let people live freely.
