(iii) Category tag OBC-NCL: This is assigned to Indian nationals who belong to the Non-Creamy Layer of Other Backward Classes and are NOT Persons with disabilities. Candidates must produce a valid OBCNCL certificate to be assigned this tag. The backward class must be in the Central List of OBCs.

As per the judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, dated March 17, 2015 [writ petition (CIVIL) NO. 274 OF 2014], Jats in the Central List of Other Backward Classes for the States of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, NCT of Delhi, Bharatpur and Dholpur Districts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are NOT considered under OBC category.

Instead of making needed change in the legal stipulations as pointed out by the Hon'ble SC as required to add Jats in the Central List of OBCs, the political leadership has went in appeal before the SC.

Hence, long drawn curtain on the aspirations of the community !
