Why BJP against Jats and Jat Reservation after Atal ji ?

Some fellow posted on social site and asked question to BJP leadership :
Jat OBC Reservation and BJP
1) In 1998 Shri Atal Bihari Bajpayee included Jats of Rajasthan in the central list of OBCs. Please note that in 1998 Jats did not have obc status even at state level any of the states of the country.

2) This decision of Shri Atalji moved the than congress govt of Rajasthan and Shri Ashok Gehlot included jats in the state OBC list of Rajasthan.

3) In 1999 late Saheb Singh Verma, the than central minister and former chief minister of Delhi demanded the similar status of obc for Jats of Delhi. Under his pressure Jats were included in the state OBC list of Delhi State.

4) In the same year i.e. 1999/2000 the than UP chief Minister of BJP Late Ram Prakash Gupta included Jats in the state list of OBCs in Uttar Pradesh. A point may be noted that despite all these contribution to the Jat community BJP, till date, has never been able to highlight these positive point and has not also done anything to cultivate and promote Jat leadership in BJP.

5) In 1998 BJP won 57 seats out of the then 85 seats of undivided UP. In western UP itself Out of 17 seats BJP won 14 seats. Hence in Jat dominated western UP BJP won 25% seats out of 20% seats of UP seats which form part of western UP. Today BJP has total 10 seat in UP out of 80 seats. Out of these 10 seats in western UP BJP has 3 seats from Jat dominated area.

6) In 1999 BJP won 29 seats in UP and in western UP Jat dominated 17 seats it won 7 seats that means still it won 25% of the total seats won.

7) In 1998 BJP gave tickets to Jat candidate in western UP and 4 Jat MPs came to parliament.

8) Please note Ajit Singh of RLD lost to BJP and RLD could not win any seats in 1998.

9) In the year 2009, BJP aligned with RLD and did not give any ticket to Jat candidate accept to 1 unknown person for Sambhal seat which BJP has never won historically till date, As a result of this alliance RLD won 5 seats and BJP still remained in western UP at 3 seats. Please note that RLD Ajit Singh had crossed the fence during the counting of 2009 election and set in the lap of Digvijay singh of congress.

10) On 23rd December 2013 Ajit has held a rally in Meerut where in Bhopender Hooda , Sharad Yadav also participated and declared that they have got Jat community the OBC status at central level. 11) Sweets are being distributed by RLD in western UP by misleading Jat community.

12) Our Party has no clue as to what to say? whom to say? what to do? who will do? How will it be done? And When should be done? We are setting target for ourself of winning 40 seats in UP whereas western UP can give minimum 14 seats out of 17 seats. Can’t we keep the same ratio for the rest of the Uttar Pradesh and set a target of winning 57 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

13) Please note BJP has won Rajasthan and Outer Delhi seats only because of Jats in the recent assembly elections. Madhya Pradesh has also got enmass support from Jat community. Further note that Jats have not supported AAP Party in Delhi.

14) I have been educating a large number of functionaries of BJP at all levels but there is no enthusiasm ever shown by them to acknowledge these facts and act upon them in order to formulate their workable strategy for the ensuing election.

Jats are castiest in nature (me included, trying not to be though :) even though we claim the same for Brahmins or jangees but fact remains the same. Even in Delhi they voted the people on caste factor not on policy basis.

I wonder when the day will come I will see direct representative as CM/PM elected after policy based debates instead of installed by someone in Delhi.

BTW...reservation should be on caste or religion or ethic basis. It should be on need basis instead. For eg. Will you go to jat doctor in emergency when you he got it because of reservation?. Who is impacted by reservation in elite institutions ?Congress did the reservation in elite institutions like AIIMS because they know they will go to USA when needed.

reservation mein baniyon aur brahmins ko jyada fayda hoga agar jaat reservation mein gaye to.
socho 50% mein 26 casts and 50% mein only two three will left.

Don't take it then. Reserved category can apply in General but not the other way round. you are safe if you pro reservation :)

Janardhan Dwivedi has talked sense but I dont think Rahul will even understand this idea. For him, poors and needy are just a state of mind, so why give quota based on their economic conditions?. :livid:

On a serious note - Congress will not play this game as it knows that all OBC votes will be vanished from its kitty.

Agree, But where are we on getting reservation?

It's now or never for Jat Aarakshan ... Agar milega to isi mahine mein milega nahi to kabhi nahi milega
There are large chances that Model Code of Conduct will be enforced w.e.f. first week of March .

Congress is strongly banking on Jats for their victory in Haryana especially Hooda.

Non-Jats especially Yadavs,Dalits,Brahmans and BC-A category are moving away from Congress because of Jat CM in Haryana and Jat reservation.
Jats are moving away from Congress because of anti-incumbency of Hooda and popularity of Modi.

If Jats are given reservation then It will be a nice fight to watch in Haryana ..
All the non-Jats will vote against Congress and what will Jats do then ?
Vote for Congress because of reservation or vote against Congress because of Modi's popularity and sympathy wave towards Chautala.

In Haryana, as on date:

1. I dont think there is any sympathy wave towards Chautala except in his home turf. No idea where INLD will win from except having good chances in Sirsa. May be max 1-2 seats out of 10.

2. Jats of several areas (except Rohtak/Jhajjar/Sonepat) have already drifted away from Hooda. Reason is jobs/lopsided development / anti incumbency etc. Congress will surely win Rohtak and may be Sirsa and Kurukshetra too (though tough fight with INLD in Sirsa). Max 2-3 seats.

3. BJP can win 4-5 seats in Haryana as it has good prospects in Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ambala, Karnal, Sonepat ( ALL in decreasing order) and 'may be' in Bhiwani Mgarh depending upon the candidates chosen at all these seats.

4. Bishnoi still will not be able to make some ground. I believe he will contest Hisar seat again and will be stuck there during campaign. He can still win Hisar seat as neither Congress nor INLD has any strong candidate there (as of now).

Would granting to Jats' reservation tilt the scales in favour of the Congress !

Would it be done on the pattern of Jat reservation in the case of Rajasthan or any other formula would be applied !!

Haryana Government have already granted 10% reservation in class III posts and 5% in class I and II posts to 5 castes including Jats therein . !!!

There are 4 possibilities:
1.If Congress is unable to give reservation to Jats and BJP+HJC alliance remains intact, then only 1 seat to Congress and Jat votes will swing in favour of INLD and probably to BJP too where there are Jat candidates.

2.If If Congress is unable to give reservation to Jats and there is BJP+INLD alliance, then BJP+INLD will definitely clean sweep all 10 seats in Haryana.
Reason is INLD will fight election only on 2-3 Lok Sabha seats(Hisar,Sirsa and Kurukshetra(probably)) and ask for more seats in Vidhan Sabha.

3.If Congress gives reservation to Jats and BJP+HJC alliance remains intact, then Congress may sweep Rohtak,Sonepat and Bhiwani and give tough fight to Kuldeep Bishnoi if Sampat Singh is made Congress candidate from Hisar.

4.If Congress gives reservation to Jats and there is BJP+INLD alliance, then Jats will get confused and give votes to Candidates based on merit and local issues. One outcome of this alliance: Enemy of Jats i.e. Kuldeep Bishnoi will become loser.

Overall conclusion is that Jats are lone warriors in Haryana but still they are capable of changing the result in their favour if they remain united.
There is sympathy wave for Chautala not only in Sirsa but also in Hisar,Jind and Kaithal too where INLD is strong.

Congress will definitely get benefit from Jat Reservation ..
With strong anti-incumbency against Congress across the state,Jat votes will help Congress to win 2-3 seats in Haryana and not allow vote percentage of Congress to dip drastically.

If Jats are not provided reservation at centre level, then there are chances that Congress wins zero seats from Haryana.

Everyone is aware that what Jats can do when they are angry with 1 party . INLD got just 9 seats in 2005 Vidhan Sabha elections out of which 8 seats were reserved.
Jats voted out Congress from Rajasthan in 2013 because despite highest number of MPs and MLAs from the state, they did not get adequate representation.

For eg. Will you go to jat doctor in emergency when you he got it because of reservation?.

Bhai depend karta hai...Jiske paas paise hai,vo Govt. Hospital mein kyon jayega ?? Sidha private hospital mein jayega chahe kisi bhi caste ka ho .

Jo gareeb aadmi hai,vo to apna treatment Govt. hospital se karvayega .

You can't judge anyone's ability just on the basis of a 3 hours examination . Once you get admission in any elite institute, then you get no more relaxation . Pass percentage will remain same for every student.

For writing a 3 hours examination, students have to prepare more than an year or in some cases years. Take for Example, Civil Services or MD which has a minimum requirement of M.B.B.S/ Graduation degree for IAS. The Quota has no purpose in these cases, wherein both the Quota or Non-Quota have read the same books in the curriculum. Even if Jats get the Quota, No guaranties that they will still vote for Congress. Whatever happened in Mujaffarnagar will also play a big role. In UP, Jats have already shown some inclination towards BJP.

Jats are castiest in nature (me included, trying not to be though :) .......''

Jats are not casteist as they easily intermix with other like minded social groups in the Indian political milieu.

They are caste conscious in the matters of inter-caste social relationships only and even there are more open than their other counterparts!

,,,,,,,,,, Once you get admission in any elite institute, then you get no more relaxation . Pass percentage will remain same for every student.

Agreed that ''Pass percentage will remain same for every student''.

But eligibility conditions to appear in various competitions the percentage of qualifying marks varies for reserved categories and non reserved categories of the candidates.

As far as Civil Services is concerned, eligibility for candidate belonging to General Category is concerned,it is Graduation with 40% marks ..Relaxed for General Category and for reserved category no. of attempts is more.eg. If for General category,it is 4 then OBC candidate gets 7 chances.

Quota for SC/ST does not contain any concept of Creamy layer which is wrong whereas OBC quota has concept of Creamy layer.

Even in IIT-JEE,the cutoff difference between General and OBC category is also around 20-25 marks only.
In GATE,difference is only of 2.5 marks.

In some jobs, competition among OBC candidates is much more than General Candidates but that depends on type of job.
In Defence, there is no quota at all. But recent survey shows that representation of Jats is also decreasing in Army.

Majority of Jats live in villages and they can't afford quality education. There is difference between a student studying in Government School of remote village and a student of Delhi Public School in a city. While preparation for elite institution and civil services, most of students take coaching and get selected. So you have to give some relaxation to candidates from rural background.
