I agree with you to some extent. But a correspondent is too low in hierarchy to blame or set free. There are editors (assistant, associate, chief, etc.) who ultimately decide what is worth publishing.
You have mentioned some Jitender Chhater who runs a school, a Realtor and is a political & social activist. So, on what basis newspaper decides that he can give an expert opinion on human physiology, endocrinology or diet? He should have only been asked for social cause of rapes, ignore the rest even if he blabbers ….There is no shortage of such Jitenders all over the country. But how come is it possible that a prominent newspaper of area (TOI) doesn’t know what KHAP is, and its procedure of taking decision on a particular issue?
Such type of news coverage definitely stigmatizes our youngsters.

I my views ladke ki umar 28 or ladki ki 24 honi chahiye ..... physical development to 18-20 tak aa jaati hai but in marriage mental development or responsibility lene ke samajh bhi jaruri hai .... Ye bas ek jarurat poori kerne ke liye nahi hai ... balki ek umer bhar ka bandhan hai ....

The Khap judgement is mostly valid for village jats only. The ones migrated to Cities have more or less adapted to the city environment. Their thinking process changes & try to get accustomed to the city life. In villages, people still care about the Panchayat, Samaj, Other People opinion's etc. In cities, people decide as & what seems profitable & in their best interests rather than thinking about Society or any xyz khap. Speaking freely, how many of us have attended even a single of their meetings. Whoever wants to change the Khaps thinking is free to indulge in these jat panchayats/khaps & bring the change from within.
And Early marriage as a generalized concept will find more pro's than con's. It was practised widely in through out nation decades ago. Even most of our parents had early marriages. I for one, believe it would help in reaching a mature process a bit early as people would understand responsibilities at a much early age. Yo GF/BF ka kissa hi khatam ho jayega, aur naa hove toh gharwali aap seedha kar deygi. And some exceptions, will always exist in all ages irrespective of the Marital status, Gender & has no traditional cure.
Aur Purush pradhan samaj sirf jaton tak hi naheen seemit apeetu humara itihaas inhin sey bhara pada hai. Koi bhi purani kahani hi leylo. Kahani shuru hoti hai "Aik Raja thaa, uski 1 Rani thi." Haan, western world men yeh kahani badal jayegi. Aur haan, situation is changing here too & it would take decades to achieve the Western gender equality status.
