2G scam, Raja, Media, Radia and tapes

Kanimozhi charge-sheeted!

Finally, Karuna's daughter has been charge-sheeted in 2G scam and likely to be arrested on May 6 when she appears in the court. It was funny to see Barkha Dutt reading the news at NDTV, she was swallowing heavily while mentioning Kanimozhi's name. And why not, not so long ago, she was her buddy and both were batting for Raja to get Telecom ministry.

I am sure the 5 executives from Telcos are having good time with Raja and Balwa in Tihar.

More big fishes coming??

Congress delaying 2G proble by JPC!

3 members of JPC from congress were included in the cabinet, congress is in minority in the JPC now and members can be replaced by both Loksabha and Rajyasabha permission. It means it will take time and the proble will be delayed reports expressbuzz below. Read some more interesting news also.

http://expressbuzz.com/thesundaystandard/The-knives-are-out-in-2G-JPC/297203.html

Congress members caused big problems in the Public Accounts committe investigation also so it seems that Congress is trying to save its big fishes by delaying and hindering the probe. After Raja and Maran, I think next in que are P Chidambaram, MM singh and Sonia Ghandi.

Chidambaram in the net?

The finance ministry note brings another twist in 2G scam.

"The Ministry of Finance sent a 10-page note to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) saying that had the ministry — then under P Chidambaram — “stuck to the stand of auctioning the 4.4 MHz spectrum”, the DoT (Department of Telecom) could have cancelled the licences."

The Finance Minister has gone abroad along with MMS. This clearly seems like one of his gimmicks, as since he is not present no media no questions. And by the time he returns things would have calm down. When questioned by a journalist, he choose to abstain from comments by saying that "the Matter is subjudice". It's funny that these people choose to act at will irrespective of laws. When cornered, they hide behind the same judiciary whom abuse at their will.

The Lokpal may not be a fool proof solution, but it is a beginning.

Meanwhile, the Congress has come out in support of home minister P Chidamabram.

Party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the party had full confidence in P Chidambaram and had no doubts on his integrity.

No one is in net my friend!

Congress backed Raja for 2 years, congress backed Kalmadi but what happened everyone knows. :) Watch the videos and you will Singhwi left the discussion and ran away, the rescuer had to run away as he had no argument to defend Chidambaram. This note also reveals fight between Pranab and Chidambaram. Sibal and Chidambaram have already been sidelined in the govt. after Anna Hajare issue and this note weakened Chidambaram. Congress itself will ask him step down and later he will follow Raja's path.

Baaki in this "Mahan Country(Incredible India)" there is backlog of 31.28 million pending cases which will take 320 years to clear.

Courts will take 320 years to clear backlog cases: Justice Rao

http://articles.timesofindia.indiat...242_1_high-court-judges-literacy-rate-backlog
HYDERABAD: Indian judiciary would take 320 years to clear the backlog of 31.28 million cases pending in various courts including High courts in the country, Andhra Pradesh High Court judge Justice V V Rao said.
"If one considers the total pendency of cases in the Indian judicial system, every judge in the country will have an average load of about 2,147 cases," Justice Rao said, while delivering the keynote address on E-Governance in Judiciary.
India has 14,576 judges as against the sanctioned strength of 17,641 including 630 High Court Judges. This works out to a ratio of 10.5 judges per million population, Justice Rao said.

PS: Incredible India is a incredibly justified say for Hindustan !

More on Pending cases :

Pending Litigations 2010: 32,225,535 pending cases; 30% Vacancies in High Courts: Government increases Judicial infrastructure budget by four times

Over 42 lakh cases are pending in India's 21 high courts and shocking 2.7 crore cases are pending in lower courts across the country.

The figures appear to be quite alarming and surprisingly are growing by the day. These figures have been revealed by the Supreme Court this week in its latest update of pending cases and vacancies in Indian courts. The report discloses pendency in cases up to December 31, 2010 for Supreme Court and up to September 30, 2010 for High Courts and Lower Courts. The report also provides statistics on vacancies up to February 1, 2011.

With kalmadi they saved Shila Di and with Raja they saved Manmohan.

When someone looses all the morality associated with a humans or better with animals (inse to dangar bhi ache hain morality main) then one can expect anything. It won't be long for Congress to loose it's dogs (CBI, IB, etc) on the lower official 'PGS Rao' (who had signed the OM dated 25.3.2011) to make him not only back track from the OM note but also put him behind the bars for some case or other.

MARK TULLY ON INDIAN POLITICS

Interesting comments. Mark knows India better than most Indians.

Mark Tully on Indian Politics

I was surprised when the Congress party gave me a Padma Shri – I am the only foreign journalist to ever get it. For, in my forty years of political reporting in India , I have always been a vocal critic of the Nehru dynasty. Someone even called me recently: “a vitriolic British journalist, who in his old age chose to live back in the land he never approved”.

It started with Operation Blue Star. I was one of the few western correspondents who criticized Indira. As I have said since then numerous times, the attack on the Golden Temple and the atrocities that followed the army operations, produced in all sections of the Sikhs a sense of outrage that is hard today to alleviate. I believed then that the large majority of Hindu India, even if politically hostile to Indira Gandhi, openly identified with – and exulted in – her will to overwhelmingly humble a recalcitrant minority.

As everybody knows, Indira Gandhi helped my fame grow even more, by wanting to imprison me during the Emergency she clamped and finally throwing me out of India for a short while. But the result was that the whole of India tuned in, then and thereafter, to my radio’s broadcasts, ‘The Voice of India’, to hear what they thought was ‘accurate’ coverage of events.

When Rajiv Gandhi came to power, I first believed that he was sincerely trying to change the political system, but he quickly gave-up when the old guard would not budge. I criticized him for his foolish adventure in Sri Lanka , although I felt sorry for him when he was blown to pieces by Dhanu, the Tamil Tiger. It is in Kashmir , though that I fought most viciously against his Govt and subsequent Congress ones for its human right abuses on the Kashmiri Muslims of the Valley. The Congress Governments tried indeed several times to censor me and the army even took prisoner my Kashmiri stringer, whom I had to rescue by the skin of his teeth. I am also proud that I was the first one to point out then, that the Indian Government had at that time no proof of the Pakistani involvement in the freedom movement in Kashmir . Thus I always made it a point to start my broadcasts by proclaiming that « the Indian Government accuses Pakistan of fostering terrorism», or that “elections are being held in Indian-controlled Kashmir ”…

As I was so popular, all the other foreign journalists used the same parlance to cover Kashmir and they always spoke of the plight of the Muslims, never of the 400.000 Hindus, who after all were chased out of their ancestral land by sheer terror (I also kept mum about it).

As for Sonia Gandhi, I did not mind her, when she was Rajiv Gandhi’s wife, but after his death, I watched with dismay as she started stamping her authority on the Congress, which made me say in a series of broadcasts on the Nehru Dynasty: “It’s sad that the Indian National Congress should be completely dependent on one family; the total surrender of a national party to one person is deplorable. You have to ask the question: what claims does Sonia Gandhi have to justify her candidature for prime-ministership? Running a country is far more complicated than running a company. Apprenticeship is required in any profession — more so in politics”. I heard that Sonia Gandhi was unhappy about this broadcast.

Then, after President Abdul l Kalam called her to the Raj Bhavan and told her what some of us already knew, namely that for a long time, she had kept both her Italian and Indian passports, which disqualified her to become the Prime Minister of India, she nevertheless became the Supreme leader of India behind the scenes. It is then that I exclaimed:“the moribund and leaderless Congress party has latched onto Sonia Gandhi, who is Italian by birth and Roman Catholic by baptism”. She never forgave me for that. Yet, today I can say without the shadow of a doubt that when history will be written, the period over which she presided, both over the Congress and India, will be seen as an era of darkness, of immense corruption and of a democracy verging towards autocracy, if not disguised dictatorship, in the hands of a single person, a non Indian and a Christian like me. Truth will also come out about her being the main recipient for kickbacks from Bofors to 2G, which she uses to buy votes, as the Wikileaks have just shown.

Finally, I am sometimes flabbergasted at the fact that Indians –Hindus, sorry, as most of this country’s intelligentsia is Hindu – seem to love me so much, considering the fact that in my heydays, I considerably ran down the 850 million Hindus of this country, one billion worldwide. I have repented today: I do profoundly believe that India needs to be able to say with pride, “Yes, our civilization has a Hindu base to it.”

The genius of Hinduism, the very reason it has survived so long, is that it does not stand up and fight. It changes and adapts and modernizes and absorbs–that is the scientific and proper way of going about it. I believe that Hinduism may actually prove to be the religion of this millennium, because it can adapt itself to change.

Not discussing about 2G scam(We have fast track courts). But in overall dealing with cases(More about reforms).

In recent riots in UK, the UK Government had put a tremendous model to deal with thousands of cases overnight. This is what our Judicial System need to learn :

Some of the key points :

-An estimated 3,000 alleged offenders are expected to appear before the courts in relation to the riots.

- Plans were in place to ensure court time is available to deal with all cases as required. A number of prisons and courts are being kept open 24-hours(7 days a week) to deal with people arrested and charged over these disturbances.' (Not Like in India, where we have a weekend off or public holiday which delays the judicial process).

- Virtual Courts

Virtual courts, which allow people to give evidence via a videolink, are also being used at two court sites in London and the South East.

Mr Djanogly said: 'Virtual courts offer flexibility so courts can take cases from many different police sites.

'This allows us to deal with offenders more quickly as they give evidence or their plea from a police station, meaning those who are guilty can be sentenced within hours of being charged.'

PS:Reforms take place overnight(Giving a due care to circumstances), while in India, it might take months or years to get things done.
