Aarakshan ko dilli gherenge Jat

Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda was supporter of reservation for Jats when he was not CM and was in opposition. But looks like power corrupts....CM hooda saab want stick to his promise given earlier to be a part of same Congress ideologe ....I am sure he won't take a minute on announcing reservation for Muslims if High command say so.

It's time to ask the CM about the promise made in the past.

Reservation

I think reservation is not a solution to the economic backwardness of Jat community. I feel it will certainly lower our self-esteem. It may not go down well with majority of dignified people in the community including myself. All reservations in the name of caste creed and religions should be scrapped by the government. We should rise against such reservation. However, economically backward sections of society should certainly get some upliftment through reservation irrespective of caste.

We should rather squeeze the politicians from the community who are voted into the State Assembly or Parliament on the agenda of development and employment generation. After their victory they hardly show their faces. So first thing, reject all such leaders who are the perpetrators of dynastic rule and continue to dominate the local politics using names of their so called "Khandani Jat" forefathers and get employment only to their relatives or take bribe for distributing employment/posts. Cultivate honest, sincere, literate, energetic and dynamic leaders with humble background who are committed to the cause of community and are familiar with the grass root problems.

If the recruitment system is made fair and transparent, there will be no need for any reservation. We should insist for improvement in the educational standards and betterment of availability in the rural areas and complete transparency in recruitment system.

Do you seriously think that reservation will be eliminated from India, in our lifetimes ?

If not , then what practical suggestions would you or other readers have for the Jat community ?

Ravi ji,

I think it is an uphill task for any political party, especially in this era of coalition governments, to scrap reservation. But it cannot be be ruled out. There is an undercurrent of resentment among the socially exalted but economically backward sections of society which may lead to their polarization against the reservation policy when the situation will reach its vortex. It may happen in our life time.

2. By that time, there seems to be no practical solution but to galvanise mass support against the erring politicians who do not raise their voice in Assemblies or Parliiament to amend the constitution for abolition of reservation policy which was meant for a certain time-frame but has become a permanent feature. Jat community should join hands with other upper castes in the fight against reservation. Surely, it will make a difference. A movement at large scale will have to be started. The sooner the better.

I believe Khaps are in favor of reservation.

Seeking OBC quota, Jats threaten to disrupt C’wealth Games
Ramanjit Singh Sidhu

Chandigarh, March 11
Seeking OBC reservation, members of the Akhil Bhartiya Jat Arakshan Samiti (ABJASS) today warned the Central and state governments to extend the reservation quota to the community failing which they would disrupt the Commonwealth Games in October. They also threatened to cut the national Capital from rest of the country by blocking the national highways, railways, fuel, gas and water supplies.
The members of the Jat community from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other parts of India assembled at the Rally Ground in Sector 25 here and launched a demonstration.
Insisting for inclusion of Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims of the Jat community in the reservation quota, the leadership flayed the political parties for dividing the community on lines of caste and religion. Launching the ‘Chandigarh Declaration’, they announced to wage a straightforward battle against the government to take back their rights.
The representatives of the Samiti said respective Central and state governments had been denying the community the OBC status since 1993. Since the community belonged to rural peasantry class, the governments had been deceiving them for over 19 years and now they had decided not to allow this anymore.
National president of the Samiti Yashpal Malik said the members would launch a warning week if the government failed to move after the ultimatum. They would cut Delhi from the rest of the country during the week and they would also launch “Arakhshan Rath Yatra” from Golden Temple, Amritsar.
Yashpal further said they would raise a ‘Jat Arakshan Sena’ taking members from Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims to conduct the agitation in a peaceful and democratic manner. Prem Singh Chandumajra along with Shiromani Akali Dal leaders arrived at the venue and took memorandum from the Samiti leaders while a senior officer of the Haryana government received it. The members said they had launched a march toward the Sonia Gandhi’s residence on February 8 following which a meeting was held next day with Social Welfare and Empowerment Minister Mukul Wasnik, who did not give any concrete assurance to them. They had given an ultimatum to the government till March 10 to meet their demand, failing which they staged the demonstration today.

Ps ....On behalf of Haryana Government memorandum was accepted by Sh Dharmvir present MLA from Sohana Constituency

I don't think this is good move. our country reputation is on stake on these games if Jats disrupt it they will be seen as a non patriotic community in the country, which is not even in our blood.
