Media's behaviour in last couple of days have been very immaturish on making Aish-Abhishek wedlock a virtual unofficial 'National-festival'.TRP hungry organisations have been illusive over many issues and overlook so many sensitive developmental issues.India is the country of largest number of news channels in world but its a pity now that they have made glamour and some other second grade comdey programmes as their part of schdeule in place of taking feedback of past news or events.I dnt understand media's wildness over covering Aish-Abhishek marriage when Amitabh Bacchan clearly said that they want to avoid media, A sensible media would have been boycotted the event. Same was the case of Amir Khan wedding where finally some journlaists were beaten up by security and another infamous was of Salman Khan boycotted one news channel and asked to leave a particular news channel present in press conference, insensitive peers of that channel were indifferentat that moment.I'm sorry but this kind of media doesnt seem to playing the role of fourth pillar of Indian Constitution.
Another thing which strikes through this event is spending money at marriage.
According to recent survey wedding industry is growing at 25%.Definatly globalisation has opened various door to commercialisation of traditional customs, marriage being the one.Trend is same in our community as well, though we are considered as attached to land but at marriages we couldn't resist show off by spending huge sum of money.Correct me If I'm wrong.
No doubt marriage is a very importent occasion in a person's and family life.
But if that money could be saved it is going to help new couple in their future.
Recently I heard that Some Panchayat in Haryana has banned carrying of DJ system in fourwheeler during marriage funcrion.Indeed a commendable decision.Marriage is a holy occasion but people behave like they are on moral leave.
MY question to my community ," Does it sound wise to spend heavily on marriages as far as we are concerned"? If NO, Kindly suggest some measures.
