Sorry Sir, I differ
Dear Sir,
I had followed the events of Janta Party coming to power, and the Watch Smuggling Case. Ch. Devi Lal was lauded for his bold statement of disowning Mr. Chautala at that time. Secondly, the differences between Ch. Devi Lal and Mr. V P Singh; came to the break point over Ch. Devi Lal's insistance of making Mr. Chautala the CM. Your statement above may be digested by our innocent voters for that is what was told to them by our own leaders, but not by the person who had followed the events.
Secondly, do you think if Ch. Devi Lal could become the PM he would have allowed any one else to become the PM. We must remember that the Third Front won the election on the promise that V P Singh will be the PM, that was the popularity of Mr. V P Singh at that time. So, let us not distort the facts.
Now regarding Ch. Charan Singh not helping Ch. Ajit Singh to take over the leadership of the party, I don't think that is true. If Ch. Charan Singh did not want that, no one else could do any thing, that was the hold of Ch. Charan Singh over the party. As far as Ch. Ajit Singh is concerned, I don't think he was as powerful in front of Ch. Charan Singh as you claim that Mr. Chautala was in front of Ch. Devi Lal (which I don't agree to) that he would have snatched the leadership.
Now your statement, about Mr. Chautala's weakness for the money, that is good enough disqualification for someone to lead the state. Regarding doing something for Jats, I don't know what had been done for Jats by Mr. Chautala or for that matter any one else. The only meaningful work done for the farmer community was by Ch. Charan Singh by raising the prices of Sugercane during his first term as the CM of UP. Rest of the work has been posting their followers to lucrative posts where they could make more money in bribes etc, if that is what people call work for the community, I am sorry, I don't subcribe to the idea.
And last but not the least, they need to be leaders of all the communities, whether in UP or in Haryana or in Rajasthan, Jats alone can't get them to power. And in any case I am interested in the entire state and not only the Jat Constituency.
Virender, Ch Devilal didnot bring Chautala sahab but due to his batter leadership qualities, being batter jat & powerful in many respect, he captured power himself. Secondly, VP Singh was given chair of PM by Ch Devilal, he never brought down his govt, infact VP betraid Ch sahab. My dear brother, EXCEPT WEAKNESS FOR MONEY,Chautla is a real jat, a strong leader & very capable Administrator, Also Chautala sahab has helped jats more than any other jat leader. Media may write any thing but in reality Ch Charan singh & Ch Devilal both were Kisan leaders, It is Chautala who came up as jat leader, thus no comperison with AJIT. Also Ch Charan singh never helped Ajit to take over his place, these were chamchas from our community as well as fom the party managed easy takeover for him. But unfortunately Ajit failed on all accounts. regards
