If all members would be active like you,then it would be very easy to manage Threads/Posts on JL.

Krishan, that photo could not be yours because it was of a sadhu/saint ((they have disowned everything) - they don't do kheti baadi (farming) )- the profession you have stated is yours! you were clearly impersonating in that photo- i think that is not allowed on JL.

A judge friend of mine told me that a Judge's profession requires him/her to remain aloof in society. That they are discouraged from attending social functions, making too many friends etc etc, as their social interactions may cause some to accuse them of bias in their judgements in case they have to judge an acquaintance's case. So perhaps it is a good thing that moderators do not participate much in discussions on JL as they are called on to decide thread deletion etc.

A Good Mod can't be a Active participant and a good Participant can't be a good MOD ..... as per rules.

People fight here like dogs .. Mods don't know because they are busy ... people don't fight here and Mods are too active to respond.

I am here since 2005 and failed to understand a Mod's Job.

Mods actually posts the way they like to post and that's the life .......I wonder that Admins made it compulsory that Mod's should never involve themselves in Arguments ...... but ....... They does .... even in a biased manner ... who cares.

I hope that a society values what is said instead of who is saying ?

Why shouldn't a moderator take a stand and participate in a discussion? What guarantee is there that moderator will not have a bias/ a stand even tho' he/she is not a participant on the thread, and not delete the posts he/she does not favor? Participation is just a manifestation of the bias, a bias that would exist with or without participation. (If a moderator participates, the member can quote the moderator's post as proof of his/her bias against the member.)
If a moderator deletes a thread/post that is not in line with her/his view point, the writer of such posts can always reason. If the post gets restored- good, otherwise cut the losses and move on. There will be plenty of other opportunities to state your viewpoint and there is not just one moderator on the forum who will keep deleting your posts.
There have been instances when a moderator resigned from his/her post because of complaints from the members, who had a "bias" against the moderator. So, the members are not so helpless against the "bias" of a moderator.
BTW, aren't we, as members, using the "Like" button based on a bias/ favorite?

I said ... as per rules .... and that are not my rules .... That is Jatland's undeclared rules to qualify for a Mod.

Reverse Engineering is a common phenomenon and there maybe some masters of this trade.

I think it's not a bad idea to use Like button as compared to posting something stupid to support the favorites.

I also think that a moderator should be chosen by the members. The only way members would know whom to choose is if they have seen the potential candidate participating in discussions.
 
I think that this is site owned by Admins and they got every right to give or not to give special powers to anyone. By voting we will never be able to find any moderator because we will vote only for an active member (who is writing posts or staying in chaupal). An active members got both (in favor of and against) type of views for him. There are few members who are active but never writing posts but giving their comments in background by using like and report button.Such members are some sorts of critics giving a balanced view about posts. Such members will never get a vote but they are actually qualifying for a responsible post like moderator and Admin.
I have always had mixed views about admins/modes some were friends, Some became friends and some were/are against me. When i evaluate my situation who am i?I am clear that i am member of this site and i got no right to suggest admins to choose moderator of my choice. This friend and enemy view is also some sort of illusion that i am creating around me.Here nobody is friend or enemy these are our thoughts that are making people in favor or against us. And question is why this is happening because we might be wrong somewhere but always thinking us and only us right. So rather then pinpointing admins and moderators we should be happy that atleast there are people to take care of site and we should also thank site owner for giving us chance to be part of such a glorious and beautiful family.

Aaj 17 hajar hain joki apas mein seeng bhida rahe hain. Jhote bhiden to lath e khaya karein. Jhota apni pasand se lath chunta hai kya?

मैं तो कदका केहान लाग रह्य हूँ के राकेश नै बना दो मोड्डा लेकिन कोए सुनवाई नहीं. राकेश तै मोड्डा बना दिया तो आधे इस्सुए ख़तम हो जांगे. घना नहीं तो Humour section तै बच जगा.
