Hoe Very Sad...
Dear All,
I have been closely following the events at Village Sisauli as also the comments by respected members. I am sorry, I beg to differ. How can we have such extreme views in these times? JATS are supposed to be, and are, people with a lot of ‘Kudrati Dimag’ or what one calls wisdom. What did you all expect Mr Tikait to do? Turn his village into a fortress and beat back the law enforcing agencies, ensuring bloodshed of innocents people. Can we be a little more sensitive please?
In democracy it is the rule of the majority and Ms Mayawati is CM because she got the JAT Vote of Western UP. Yes, she cares two hoots as she knows she can take a higher moral ground on this particular issue. The laws of the land debar any one from referring to Harijans by their caste. Just because Harijans in the villages bear the insults of some landlords doesn’t mean even Ms Mayawati will bear the same. The stupidity of Mr Tikait is by now well known to most of us but that is another issue. I am happy that he surrendered and saved innocent lives.
Why can't we start treating others with a little more understanding? We are lucky to be born in families and do not face this unending daily humiliation in the villages like the SC/ST. Times are changing and other communities are making progress. I have said this umpteen times on this portal that the JAT community is perhaps blessed with the best qualities by God Almighty but we always end up disadvantaged because of our behavior. There are too many issues that have led us in this predicament and those have been discussed ‘n’ number of times. But we will never understand and that’s the tragedy.
I hope the Generation Next is more understanding and would adopt an all inconclusive approach towards the disadvantaged, from own community or otherwise.
Warm regards,
JS Malik
