Arrest warrant against Mahendra Singh Tikait

My parents happened to visit Sisauli yesterday due to a sad demise of one of our relatives and what was observed thr makes me turn my opinion and support what Tikait did.

Firstly there is a confusion as to what he exactly said that triggered the incident. In that panchayat he was speaking about Ajit Singh and said: Yu to yu kisi kaam kaa naa hai, nahi te waa Cham**ari mhare sir pe chad ke...... " u know the rest.

Now coming to his decision of surrendring, All the supplies like electricity, telephone and even movement of people was cut-off from Sisauli village. Situations got tougher for people day by day, those who were with Tikait were living under a fear of uncertainity of future. Kettles didn't have fodder to eat, people couldnt move out, 10000 armed guards has cordened off the whole village.

Another interesting insight was that all officers that were put forward to operate on this operation belonged to the higher casts of society. All jats in police were put on this operations. Against the rule, jats from Muzzafarnagar, even Sisauli village were put against their own villagers. (Reminds me of operation blue star).

But what has been commendable is that Mayawati couldn't get courage to arrest the man, he was not even arrested at Muzzafarnagar or Bijnore court as media reported but he surrendered.

As Mayawati claims that she wanted to go ahead with peace and did not order an arrest was said to be a false claim. Police authorities had orders to arrest him but they were finding it difficult to march in as no one wanted bloodshed. This is the reason they tried arresting him at Mzfrngr but failed miserable because of the revolt, then similer attempt was made at Bijnore and faced a lot of retaliation.
 
Vijay, Thanks for the videos. I had just been reading from websites on this issue so far. Actually, videos are much more interesting.
I would highly appreciate if someone could post more video links related to the controversy.

She is just miusing her authority to crush voices of people who are speaking against her..She even dared to call Mahender Singh Tikait as Mamuli Aadmi...this is ridiculous...dhedo ne hee naak mein damm kar dia...agar ya Prime minister ban gayi toh sab ne baas degi....Our jat leaders should take lesson from this political drama, Ch..Ajit singh & Ch. Mahender Singh should join hands.....bera koni apne jats ki ke seem bate hai thats why chamari took advantage of the situation and became Mukyamantri.....

history will not forgive tikait for his blunder.

What happens regarding the tikait episode, I think, was the only right, logical, rational, political conclusion :mad: since after all he was guilty of breaking the law of land. However, sochne ki bat ye han ki, ye to jat's tabbot me akhri kil han. Now no jat can put its head up. aur ab to dekhta raho,:cool: bhavisya me sab marginalized section yu hi maharay sir pe bathe ge. Enjoy the feeling of insult :(and console themselves.
 
Saahi kiya Ch.Tikait ney. Surrrender nah karta aur Khaamkha kuch gareeb kisan goli key shikaar houte. Abh galti kar dee thee to usaka anjam bhi bhugatna paddeyga.

Maya Madam ka political palda aur Vote Factor badh gaya.
 
What I don't understand is why Mayawati should be benefitted by this?
What she did was illegal on so many levels.
Agreed Tikait is spineless and I am not supporting him. But I absolutely hate Mayawati with all the hate in my heart.
Jats should go for a separate state in UP like Uttaranchal........ and be done with Mayawati ,Mulayam and rest of the thugs, there is nothing in common between Jats and the rest of UP bhaiyyas. UP will remain f*&ked up till the end of humankind..............Get your land and leave.

Where Your Taxes Go: 29

On 62 sandstone elephants in Lucknow. Their cost, according to CNN-IBN: Rs. 38 crore. They will be part of the Ambedkar Memorial, which, according to The Economic Times, is being built at “a whopping cost of Rs 7 billion.”
That’s Rs. 700 crore.
Yes, yes, I know that’s your money, and mine. But it’s not like we were planning to do anything useful with it. The nation needs an Ambedkar Memorial. And the memorial needs sandstone elephants. No?

I do not agree that he has done such a big crime that warrants 10000+ police force that too moved in so quickly. Itni jaldi to bhai Army hi jama ho sake, pehli baar shayad itni badi police force successfully assemble kari gayee hogi.

People has said much worse things then Tikait during rallies. See the recent case of Thakre's in MH. What happens is that these politicians always deny their words later whereas Tikait accepted it as a mistake. he should have said that this is the dehati language.

Though he used the unparliamentary language, that does not mean he has broken the SC/ST act; otherwise court would not have made such comment.

I am not against his surrender, but the way that happens was not correct and gave Mayawati courage to say he is a "Mamooli sa aadmi". I believe that the leaders who were there - Anuradha Ch., and Virender Singh from Congress, they did a poor job. Tikait is not that polished person from communication point of view. These leaders should have taken that front. They should have called a proper press conference; inform reporters the difficulting faced by villagers due to cordoning and the circumstances leading to surrender, focusing on Tikait's willingness for a non-violence end and to free the sisauli from vitual prison and hostage crisis.

To me it is more of a failure of those educated leaders surrounding him. They should have made a killing out of this but seems that they were more interested in furthering the cause of their parties then Jats or Kisans.

I also see a bias in the way Hindi media has reported it and the way English media did. In my observation English media took it as oppurtunity to showdown the jats. Today I was pained to read a comment in leading English daily where they mentioned that there is animosity between "Jats and Jatavs" for ages inspite of the only difference being 2 extra alphabets "V and S".

Mayawati is going to benefit because after this she has become the sole champion of DALIT cause. This will shift dalit voters from Congress to BSP. Now chamars all over the country are more than happy ki JAT ne chamari se maafi maang li.

I have even read in a paper a suggestion which was like this - Mayawati should now withdraw the case against Tikait as it will give a message that a dalit has forgiven a person from upper caste. As such things where a dalit show mercy on upper caste feudel landlord happens rarely and will lead to further humiliation of Tikait.

All this is going to provide a new high to dalits in northern India specially in Jat belt.

NEW DELHI: This is an act of Dalit camaraderie that Mayawati is not going to appreciate one bit.

Buta Singh, head of National Commission for Scheduled Castes, has waded into Mayawati's dispute with Jats, in what will frustrate the BSP supremo's attempt for a swift closure of her confrontation with Jat chieftain Mahendra Singh Tikait which, if allowed to fester, can hit her bid to reach out beyond her core Dalit constituency.

Singh, using his powers as the panel chief assigned to look after the interests of SCs across the country and unfettered by jurisdictions of state governments, seems all set to summon Tikait for using casteist slurs Mayawati.

This runs contrary to the scheme that the Dalit czarina has in mind. Mayawati who, defying the huge surge of support for Tikait and warnings of a bloodbath in western UP, brought the farmers' leader to his knees to extract an apology from him, does not want the matter to linger.

She has worked hard to shed her image as a hardliner and, having proved a point vis-a-vis the Jats in their stronghold, would like to rest the matter which revives the memories of her aggressive approach towards non-Dalits.

Singh, who sees the BSP chief as an upstart, has different designs. He has finally secured a copy of the FIR which the Mayawati government lodged against Tikait and is determined to summon the latter before his panel. While his "more aggrieved than the victim" approach is sure to rankle Mayawati, there is not much that she can do.

Not only does Singh have the powers to call Tikait, the UP CM cannot dispute the basis - the FIR against the Jat leader - for him to do so.

The FIR lodged by a police inspector, who claims to be an eyewitness, accuses Tikait of scorning Mayawati for her caste and goes to the extent of alleging that the remark - an offence under the law aimed to punish atrocities against Dalits - triggered tension in the area.

The charge was the basis for Mayawati to send a contingent of armed policemen, including commandos, to the Jat bastion of Sisauli to force Tikait to surrender just after his community had vowed to fight till the bitter end. She cannot backpedal from it now.

Singh, in any case, has sealed the escape route by taking up the matter. "We are with Mayawati in this case. Now that we know what were the words used, we will issue notice to Tikait," he told TOI.

His intervention would result in the matter slipping out of UP government's grasp to land in Singh's court, giving the latter an opportunity to become the chief arbiter in the case.

It was precisely this fear which led UP to turn down repeated requests from the SC panel for a copy of the FIR. State officials, including the Bijnore DM, had stonewalled all communication from the commission for almost a fortnight till an unsuspecting district police chief faxed a copy of the FIR to the panel. Interestingly, the SP was given marching orders the same day. His replacement, curiously, is from the Jat community.

Though it is not clear what led to the substitution, sources in the SC panel are convinced that he has been punished.
Having got the lethal ammo against the rival, Singh is naturally jubilant.

"I have a copy of the FIR with me. Now I will take the matter to its logical conclusion," he said. All these are sure to be seen in the light of Congress's desperate fight to claw back in UP's Dalit quarters from where it was evicted by BSP in the late 80s.

The two sides have frequently skirmished, with Congress accusing the UP CM of diluting the Atrocities Act to further her political agenda of winning the upper castes. It was Buta Singh who spearheaded the campaign to accuse Mayawati of sacrificing the interests of Dalits.

This is totally absurd ... the first thing only because of cast they are getting the reservation and at the time of preparation of SC/ST certificate if you will ask their cast ... they say "Chamaar" and because of cast only they are getting so many benefits .... even they are getting certificates ............... is there any certificate for general class. Than what wrong thing Mr. Tikait said. He has said what certificate Ms. Mayawati posses. Ab usko bura lag reha hai ki usko kyun keha ....... to certificate bhi to usne apna khud banwaya hai .........
