JAT RESERVATION …..Our necessity or a grudge
This is speech which I prepared for the first time till my education period and that too for participating in 'Haryana Youth Festival, 2010' to represent my college apart from other activities i.e. Debate, Rangoli Designing and also for Collage making. I was asked by the panel of Judge to represent it first in college. As told I also have to memorise this to speak out without any interruption but from my side I clarified that I write as per my observations and thoughts and will try to memorise it completely for best presentation. As soon as the girls at college came to know that my topic is selected and I'm allowed to participate they started showing their grudges and when they failed to deal me then one of them burst out for her true feelings i.e. why I've expressed such opinion as her parents have 10 lacs amount to pay as bribe for approach and other things. After a few conversation with girls I wrote an appology letter to the cultural incharge saying that I'm stepping back from my participation from all the activities. If girls can show this kind of impression then boys are two steps ahead than girls in every way. So, why to become Indira Gandhi jiske angrakshak ne hi use maar giraya aur fir ek bure aadmi ko punish karne ki bajaye nirdoshon ko hilaya. Diversity in India is for its beauty but not for fight among brotherhood.
At some thread Jeet has expressed his views about movie Rajneeti commenting ki aisi movies nahin dikhayi jaani chahiyein jisse aane waali generation neta ka bhaar uthaane se dare ya bache but I disagree for this as these are the ways to show us the psychology of today's people. Its upto us how we look at it. Aur fir Indira Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose aur kaafi famous personalities hume history ka wo lesson deti hain ki agar public khud hi burai se dab ke dukhi rahna chahti hai to rahne do. Why to take the initiative for such people who all cannot think collectively. If people cannot, then its wise to step back. Jab insaan kisi acche kaam ke liye haar jata hai to nature and God is there to look after. "GOODNESS ALWAYS WIN OVER EVILS AND THE BEST ROLE IS PLAYED BY TIME". So, here comes my first speech presented on 22nd sept. for which I stepped back. I don't need to count any winning certificates to prove people that I know something better than them.
Honourable Judges,
Today, I would like to express my opinions on the current issue being raised i.e. ‘Jat Reservation’. How essential is it for us to uplift and grow?
Earlier, we all were recognized by our work and on the same basis the caste system came in the form of four varnas viz. Brahmins – those who were highly educated, Kshatriyas – those who were strong enough for warfare or to defend the country and its people, Vaishyas – those who were engaged in trade and commerce, and the rest of the people who were efficient for all kind physical work were called Shudras as they serve the other three classes of the society.
The foremost evil of this system is that it made some caste high, while some low and due to that Shudras were treated badly, considered as untouchables and were reduced to a low status.
After looking at this pitiable condition of the Shudras many eminent leaders came forward to combat the deteriorated condition and then came the Constitution of India which provided special privileges and facilities to uplift the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
- The educational and economic interests of the scheduled castes were promoted and protected against any kind of social injustice or exploitation
- Children belonging to scheduled caste were allowed admission to schools or any other institution maintained by the state
- Person belonging to SC, ST were allowed to enter shops, temples or any other public place
- Some seats were reserved for them in the Lok Sabha and the State Legislative Assemblies
- Certain percentage of jobs in the Govt. sector are reserved for this category
Efforts were being made to improve the conditions of other socially and educationally backward classes.
But when government amend any law to support the weaker section, some people with unhealthy intentions came forward to misuse it and disturb the environment and picturised the right person or group as wrong who either has to step back to get out of this vicious circle of wrong doings or become the victim.
Today, half the people stand for wrong cause and half for right thing and this is the reason that our country is lagging behind. Very few are performing their roles as a true citizen. Rest, all others for their greed or selfish interest are pulling right person’s leg.
This is not a shame on the country but it’s a shame on its people due to which other nations are getting chance to move ahead and faster even when a country like India has no dearth of educated and skilled human resource.
Now I ask you all:
Do jats really need the reservation?
Are jats socially and economically backward?
Are they not getting proper education whether its formal, informal or non-formal?
As an individual I also can see the wrong goings and it really hurts when a person who is deservant does not get the right place of opportunity and a person who still has to grow upto that level snatches/buys the seat for which other candidate was supposed to sit. It really matters, but if government is helpless to help the right person because of the wrong doers then atleast we also should not join the hands at wrong side to make our govt. weak. Instead, we should make ourselves that capable that our intellects grow and opens the door for ourselves in the private sector and finally for the globalization.
Govt. sector which are being privatized and few on the way for same is just because of the quality of staff being appointed there through any means.
A leader can fail to make understand the public the right thing, even a teacher can fail to make understand the pupil the right and wrong. Same is the case with parents, but time is that factor which teaches a good lesson to every individual. That doesn’t mean the teachings should be stopped or halted but every person should carry on with little or big amount of knowledge and the time will automatically turn its right way.
So, I would just like to say ‘Do the good, support the good, help the weaker and make the nation stand at its highest place.
Now, I give rest to my speech by singing few rhyming lines……….
We shall overcome, We shall overcome
We shall overcome someday
O ho! Deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome someday
We’ll walk hand-in-hand, We’ll walk hand-in-hand
We’ll walk hand-in-hand someday
O ho! Deep in my heart, I do believe
We’ll walk hand-in-hand someday
We shall integrate, We shall integrate
We shall integrate someday
O ho! Deep in my heart, I do believe
We shall integrate someday
Thanks & Regards
