As u all know cw games is to be held in india in 2010.but prearations for this games r not as such level as these should be.If all the work which is going on for this will not accomplish at proper time than this will be a shameful for the image of india in world.Even these games r the question of prestige of india.24 agencies r currently working for preparation of these games.but even they donot proper coordination between them.if india want the hosting of olympic than these games have good oppurtunity for india to show the world. What my friends at jatland will suggest for this?

Aur apnay aap ki bhavishya ki superpower kehte hai.

Jo chin nay kar dikhya bharat kabhi nahin kar sakta.

They were told CWG will be shifted to edinburgh as CWG authority did not have confidence in Delhi Govt.

That'll be such a disgrace..:o

Will prove Delhi govt's incompetency yet again..but this time its gonna be out there open in the world and not just any in-house problem.

no i dont think that common wealth games will be taken back from india.but yes, they have not done a satisfactory job.i mean they had so much funds,so much assistance from centre but still they failed to take advantage of the opportunity to the fullest.no doubt lot of developments going on in delhi.but more could have been done.i guess many projects are now scrapped because they dont have the time now.they still dont have the required no of hotel rooms for the visitors.i also doubt that the materials now used would be of inferior quality because of this rush hour now.the government had so many years for the development.were they sleeping all this time.the worst part is their announcements which really is so annoying.they keep on promising.latest getting rid of jj clusters.we all know they will never do that.sad.

somebody just mentioned the olympics here.just to clear we have already lost the race for 2016 olympics.we have bright chances for 2020 olympics.so for that we have time.but seeing the trend the government will sleep all these years and wake up in 2018 and hurry up things in 2 years.

Yup, I would say that the Common wealth games committee would probably have to make the proper evaluation in due time and go with the next one if the original nation of choice does not step up... Period!

On a flip side of the coin, and more importantly - also remember that always these games committees (be it the Olympics, Asiads, Common wealth etc.) pour loads of monies into the proposed improvements that would be impacting the games and also to ensure the needed infrastructure improvements happen in time for a successful outing and so if there is not the required seriousness and positive initiative from the Indian govt. then they also stand to lose this lucrative budget that could very well assist jumpstart a lot of planning/urban-design improvement projects in the capital!!!

But the question is till now only 85% work is stated to be complete and the rest 15% had to be completed by August 09, will it be possible.
The people who are having a first hand experience of Delhi, knows better than all this eyewash.

i m happy.some of the flyovers will be completed and thrown open to public in the first week of august.the naraina flyover would also be completed by november(but one side only).nangloi flyover was just completed a month back.lot of flyovers coming up.this is the only area(constructing flyovers) where there has been good work.there were delays but then thats expected.

Ho jaayenge yaar!

Itni badi tension ki baat nahin hai. Jahaan aisa bada event hota hai, wahaan chaar log halla zaroor machaate hain ki yeh galat hai ya woh galat hai. Yahaan London mein aksar halla machta hai ki 2012 mein Olympics ke liye tayyari hai ki nahin. Actually to ground pe kaam bhi kam hi hota dikhta hai. Par finally ho jaayenge. Aur Indians kahin zyada jugaadu hain. To jahaan preparation kam hogi, wahaan kuchh jugaad ho jaayega...:)

Hotel rooms

With Delhi facing a shortage of hotel rooms for next year’s Commonwealth Games, Haryana has said it is working towards providing 7,000 rooms in Gurgaon and Faridabad for spectators.

??? But how the people will reach there???

They will be late.
Even though the distance is not more than 30-40 KM from ggn = ~20miles. Which in other countries takes 15-20 mins. In Delhi it takes 2+ hours on bike ... maybe 3 hrs by car.:D:D
I don't know what the hell they are doing. Kati beizzti kara ke chhodenge. Lashkar-e-Toiba ne nyaare plan bana rakhe honge bomb phoodan ke.
I hope its not a complete meltdown.

Will india be organize the games better than last two cw games.this is big cause of worry.
