A female student gang-raped on a bus in India's capital Delhi has died at a Singapore hospital, doctors say.
"The patient passed away peacefully at 4:45am on 29 Dec 2012," a statement from the hospital said. The patient's family had been by her side, it added.
The 23-year-old had arrived in Singapore on Thursday after undergoing three operations in a Delhi hospital.
The attack earlier this month triggered violent public protests in India that left one police officer dead.
Six men have been arrested and two police officers have been suspended following the 16 December attack.
"The patient had remained in an extremely critical condition since admission to Mount Elizabeth Hospital," a statement from hospital chief executive Kelvin Loh said.
"She had suffered from severe organ failure following serious injuries to her body and brain. She was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome," the statement went on.
"We are humbled by the privilege of being tasked to care for her in her final struggle," Mr Loh said.
A team of eight specialists had tried to keep the patient stable, but her condition continued to deteriorate over the two days she was at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, he added.
Officials from the High Commission of India had also been present when the patient passed away. The Indian home minister said the government had decided to send the victim overseas on the recommendation of her doctors.
Arrangements are being made to take her body back to India, Indian high commissioner to Singapore TCA Raghavan told reporters, according to the Associated Press.

Let's pray for the departed soul. and let her grace be not tarnished by over politicizing and sensationalizing. Let's spend a moment in silence and a lifetime in commitment to ensure such atrocities to women do not happen anymore. it is rather a time for all of us to introspect than to point fingers. we all as a society failed this departed soul like many others.

दामिनी बलात्कार और हत्याकांड के मुख्य आरोपी मोहम्मद अफरोज जिनका निक नाम "राजू" बताया जा रहा है उनके खिलाफ चार्जशीट दाखिल नहीं की जा रही है!

दिल्ली पुलिस ने कहा है की मोहम्मद अफरोज अभी नाबालिग है उसकी उम्र 18 साल नहीं बल्कि 17 साल है इसलिए उसका केस एक अलग नाबालिग अपराधियों के कोर्ट में अलग से चलेगा! इसका मतलब की उसे फँसी नहीं होगी और वह सजा काट के फिर आजाद हो जायेगा, एक और लड़की की ज़िन्दगी बर्बाद करने के लिए! उस समय उसकी सोच और अधिक मज़बूत होगी और वह और अधिक शातिर अपराधी साबित होगा!
मोहम्मद अफरोज उर्फ़ राजू वही है जिसने "दामिनी" को सरिया से पीटा और उसके गुप्तांगों में सरिया डाल के उसकी आंतें तक फाड़ दी थी!
उस से भी ज्यादा अधिक दिल दहलाने वाली बात यह है की यही वह व्यक्ति है जिसने "दामिनी" को बस में बैठने को बड़े प्यार से बुलाया था! यह कह कर "दीदी कहाँ जाना है?"
दामिनी ने कहा "द्वारिका"
इस पर मोहम्मद अफरोज उर्फ़ राजू ने कहा कि "यह बस भी वहीँ जा रही है दीदी आप भी आ जाओ बस दस रुपये दे देना!"
इसी बात पर दामिनी बस में बैठ गयी जिसके बाद उसकी इज्ज़त भी तार तार कर दी गयी और ज़िन्दगी भी समाप्त कर दी गयी!
कितने दुःख की बात है की आज भी लड़की को बहिन बेटी बना के ही आदमी छलता है!
 
jab se ye ghatna samne aayi hai, uske baad bhi daily rape cases samne aa rahe hain.

government ko jaldy he koi sakhtt kanoon lagu karne chahiye aur in logo ko jaldy se jaldy fassi deni chahiye taki time rehte is type k crimes per rok lag sake.

Till now not a single News Media and TV Channel took his name. They are calling him as "Juvenile". He raped Damini two times. He inserted Hand in Damini body and took out her intestine by his bare hand and thrown out of the bus. Because of this brutal attack Damini died. He was the one who suggested to throw Damini below Bus to kill her but Damini friend saved Damini life. Delhi police is making him Juvenile and saying that after 3 month he will be out of Jail !!!​

क्या ऐसे विकृत मुजरिम को महज कुछ महीनों की सजा मिलना ठीक होगी?
क्या कम सजा से वह आगे चलकर खतरनाक अपराधी नहीं बन जाएगा?
क्या स्कूल सर्टिफिकेट में दर्ज आयु को अपने हिसाब से सही या गलत मान लिया जाए ?
दिल्ली दुष्कर्म मामले के सबसे बर्बर आरोपी को नाबालिग करार दे दिया गया है। यानी कानून के मुताबिक उसे अब सख्त सजा नहीं होगी। सोमवार को जुवेनाइल जस्टिस बोर्ड ने यह फैसला सुनाया। बोर्ड ने आरोपी के स्कूल सर्टिफिकेट में दर्ज जन्मतिथि को सही माना है। साथ ही आरोपी की बोन टेस्ट कराने की मांग भी खारिज कर दी है।
16 दिसंबर की रात चलती बस में छात्रा के साथ सबसे ज्यादा दरिंदगी इसी आरोपी ने की थी।
इसी ने उसके साथ दो बार दुष्कर्म किया था।
इसी ने उसकी आंत पर सरिये से वार किया था। जो पीडि़ता की मौत की सबसे बड़ी वजह बनी।
इसी आरोपी ने उसे चलती बस से फेंकने की सलाह भी अपने बाकी साथियों को दी थी।
आरोपी की मां ने कहा है कि वे अपने बेटे को मरा हुआ मान चुकी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उससे उन्हें कोई उम्मीद नहीं हैं। उन्हें भरोसा नहीं होता कि दो छोटी बहनों का भाई होकर वह ऐसा काम करेगा।
सच यह है कि एक दशक में बाल अपराधियों द्वारा किए गए अपराधों में तेजी आई है। वर्ष 2000 में जहां नाबालिगों द्वारा किए गए अपराधों की संख्या 198 थीं, वही 2011 में 1149 हो गई। यानी पांच गुना। विशेषज्ञों की नजर में कम सजा से भी इनका हौसला बढ़ता है।

दो बार रेप कर सकता है फिर भी अवयस्क है, इसका अर्थ है नाबालिक रेप कर ही नहीं सकता. यदि वयस्क की तरह सब कुछ कर सकता है तो फिर उसे वयस्क की सजा क्यों नहीं? ये दुर्दांत अपराधी जब छूटेगा (3 मास बाल सुधार गृह में रहने के पश्चात) तो क्या समाज में रहने योग्य है? उससे समाज सुरक्षित है? अब उसे अपराध का अनुभव हो गया है और वो अपना अनुभव अपने मित्रों को बताएगा इससे क्या समाज में अपराध में वृद्धि नहीं होगी?[/h]
 
दिल्ली गैंगरेपः दामिनी के दरिंदों को सजा-ए-मौत
दिल्ली में 16 दिसंबर की रात जो दरिंदगी दिखाई गई, अदालत ने आज उस पर अपना फैसला सुनाकर इंसाफ दे दिया। दामिनी के चार दरिंदों को सजा-ए-मौत सुनाई गई है।
