All those who have issues and are against the decision made in favour homosexuals...i would like to question them who the hell are they to come up with guidelines on "Sanskriti'',"Sexuality" and "Society"?....if you are not one of them good for you and your families but you are nobody to judge if Gays are right or wrong...or if the desicion made is right or not....Heights of hipocracy.....everyone has a right to live the way one wants to....You are nobody who should have problem with their personal lives....those who think are "Man' and "Natural human beings" must know that gays are the most creative beings and they excel in all creative professions...and they can beat the so called "Man" if one competes them in their profession....I have a couple of gay friends and let me tell you they are not mentally sick people but are very some intelligent beings i have known....and needless to say i feel safe while hanging out with them.

Deepika, I have already aired my views on this subject in detail here inviting lots of ridicule from the conscious keepers of the society ...So I don't need to tell you that I agree with your sentiments, or well, most of them anyways.

But a few things I don't agree with. There is nothing to prove that gays are better than straight men- I mean, comeon, they don't really have any special powers. As for professions, they seem to excel only in the "creative" fields- maybe the reason is that straight men are not that naturally inclined or interested in those professions? If you have 9 gays and 1 straight person in a particular field, you have a 90% chance that a gay would come tops, assuming we don't know anything else about their qualities. Please note that I am not trying to link certain professions completely with gays because that would be very bad for a straight guy in the same profession. But for example, there are lots of gays in fashion desigining, so you are bound to see successful gay fashion designers. And you also ommitted lesbians from your post completely... If you really believe that gays are better than straight men, then do you also believe that lesbians are better than straight women ?

Look Khalhundeji, sadly no one is frankly gonna answer all such deviant behavior patterns etc. in conjunction to the said issue (I haven't read one yet!); few would even get mighty confused, start frothing from the mouth and shout; "holy murder"- that such amazing practices are being attributed to themselves (oh, foolishness has no bounds) and the rest of the supporters of course would like the excuse for each one to focus only about 'homosexuality' here... Well such Samaj Thekedaars can talk any kind of bullsh*t they like to....though its none of their bloody business to be happy or feel bad on the court's decision but still they are taking to their hearts as if gays are taking money from them or will make a "pass" on them
Kapil i din't say that gays excel in every profession....i also have mentioned that they are creative people and excel in creative fields...and its not a true assumption that there are more of gays and less of straights in profession like fashion designing....every year so many people passout from prestigious fashion institutes like NIFT,NIFD,Pearl fashion academy and i am sure that most of them are gays....but still Gays are the most sought after fashion designers...even some of the most famous singers,event planners are gays....may be that's because gays have feminine approach,mindset and imaginations which helps them in visualizing what girls will like and as they are born as guys they know what guys will like Well let me clarify that my opinion on gays and lesbians are same...i have seen a few lesbian couples but not friend with any as some of them feel jealous and suspect that the girl whom her partner will talk to may snatch her partner

Okay having said that now let's try and see some common threads here that both the groups (pro and anti-law amendment) have no issues with:

* Every person has a right to live they want to! No brainer...
But as a result are we gonna try and amend the law everytime and for all sexual behaviors’ that are better left said in the privacy of their bedrooms?

* Are Gays sick people? I don’t think anyone professes to be a physiologist here and condemn anyone's brain cells, Homos or otherwise;
BUT if the question is better worded as: Do straight folks think that Gays prefer to and indulge in a deviant form (removed from the natures way of design) of sexual practice? Yes, then the answer is YES...

THAT's all... Period.

ps. I would leave the gay 'creativity', women feeling safer with them etc. issues for another thread...

Well Shailendra if law to me made which can protect the wellfare of any segment of living human beings then it should me made as and when required and be it end number of times...Those who are not a part of that particular segment are not concerned....We are not like those frogs in well who are just concerned about the wellbeing of only those frogs who are living in same well....definitely this thread is not to discuss and answer "irrelevant" questions but about discussing if the judgement is right or not....and till now people(who are against the decison )have given all sort of stupid and illogical reason to support their "No"....i am all chilled out Shail but i wonder why you and all others are not chilled out and have problem with this decision.

I really dont know if I'm going to be read here after humongous number of posts already and some specific 1 on 1 interactions here , but IMO:

I advocate freedom of personal choice, even when it comes to chosing your partner for whatever purpose on earth.
But honestly, when it comes to me..my own orbit per se, I would never ever would want to see my kids 'swinging that way'...thats how it is!

I dont oppose them I dont support them , they r the MINORITY group with different sexual preference which is considered wrong by religions and people in the society.

The only issue I see is if they adopt kids or if they had their own (may be from the time when they were not gay/ lesbian and they have their custody even when they turned gay) and kids grow up watching this gay relationship at home and as the time goes they accept the fact and chose to be a gay because thats what they have seen.

In another case if kids dont choose the gay lifestyle after growing up with their gay parents they might start hating their parents. or get bullied in the school after other kids find out about their parents.

In both the cases kids will have some issues.

Another point is how many are gay/lesbian for life and how many for a time being.

I dont know about gay guys but I have seen gay girls changing according to what they feel but girls are OK

And ye lot of night clubs and pubs are GAY FRIENDLY now but there was a time when they had their own gay clubs but now man they hang out everywhere

Straight and not so straight r learning how to stay together , like racism u wont see it happening but still somewhere people will think about it
