:) ...........And Jitu silence wasn't expected Bro in helping an upcoming hero of the community! I said the obvious.Starting some good work with enthusiasm and then suddenly you dnt hear anything for long.How would you feel. I have gathered few guys here and they keep on asking me about the fund sending. Either that news report was false or we ? You guys gave a hope and I have full right to ask.If it is not possible from your side then I'll look in to it through personal means.

please keep ur cool. the news might have struck you but i have checked back. he is an employee of railways and is sponsored by railways and ioc(adequately).
it is not that he is short of food/diet or tickets.
he should focus on getting the olypic gold and all monetary rewards will follow. he has to keep his focus.

We wish him good luck.

There is no harm in encashing your talent and converting that into money for yourself or your family, however it does dilute the request from more genuine people who are actually short of money.

I really don't know what and how much railway provides to their sports people, but I am sure with the organization that it is and the profit it makes, it is quite likely that funds must not be the issue with railway athletes/sports people.

Any way, if he still needs some money to win a gold, we are all there to help him out.

And please even in future it is imperative that someone takes initiative of getting all people who have written or have extended any offerings for help be asked again , there is no shame in doing that.

Off topic though but that was exactly the reason I some time back proposed the setting up of an Jatland Fund by which we can always evaluate similar scenario of needy people ( from our own caste ( if members think so ) , though i myself is egalitarian( of course many of you know my naiveness about it :) ) ).

The donations can be as small as 100 per month and with such huge number of members , the leverage ratio is huge.

There can be things that can be done in the name of JatLand.com.


Also appreciate the importance of setting things up , once the mechanism is in place , we can always find opportunities to work.


And it ain't difficult at all , Either we can get a bank account in the name of society or join for 3-4 members and it can be transparently maintained and the contributing members can always take part in deciding on the allocation of funds.

And again , dont just keep thinking about it , inaction is never helpful. :)

Since myself and Samar both are not in india currently , so i guess only you are the one right now up for it , may be others do come across.


Since you also have experience of sociieties etc , how difficult it would be to get a bank account in name of an organisation.

Or can you accomodate these funds within some of your set ups!

Aur wo apka sujhav ki baad mein jo log contri karenge wo decide kar lein ki kisse help karni hein ... taki kisi ko baad mein ye shikva na rahe ki unka say nahi tha kahin bhi ...

every idea is a good idea, provided it gets implemented.

Enthusiastic about using internet for raising funds for street/beggar children, i sent emails to 1000 people, put up messages on Jatland, orkut and other forums and all i could increase in form of a contributor in this excercise was Anil(who had actually promised support before the excercise began).

And all 1000+ people thought that rest everyone has given.

When in a village everyone was asked to put one bucket milk each in the reservoir at night, everyone put water because rest everyone would have put milk.

When a million vociferously shouted to go ahead, the time came and everyone silently step back and start looking here and there.

Jatland fund is no problem. it could be done through JJ/ADAA but i would prefer it as direct help. But let me know, how much contribution can we expect here? please let me know the amount namewise.

commit your word on this thread and when we come accross a needy case and have scrutinised it, the said people should go ahead and sponsor directly. Can we do this? can we have a name bank of volunteer sponsors who can commit an amount if a needy Jat child comes up.

That probably is on of my biggest frustrations in life.

Mere lip-servers frustrate me like anything.

Regarding starting this:

Navin: I commit an initial contribution of 5k for this fund and i would then contribute on the case by case basis or may be decide about any other contribution later.
and I personally want this to be in either JJ/Adaa bank account, I know it will be meagre but you guys can take up the interest part of it always ( whatever the bank gives).
What i mean is that this 5k should be available for any of the activities that might come up , its custodian in that sense should be Adaa/JJ.
I will send over a cheque in the name of Adaa as i sent the first one.

So i start the count:

Please add your names.


PS: There cant be no benchmark for the funds , so please do not hesitate to put it any amount X , howsoever small and whatsoever large! :)
