Harphool Jat Julaniwala (Sheoran) was a soldier, Born in village Barwas in tahsil Loharu of Bhiwani district in 1892 in the family of Ratna as per Haryana Abhilekhagar. According to some local people he was in Indrayan Pana of Barwas Bawani village and his father's name was Chatru Ram and Grandfather was Kita Ram. He was popularly known as Harphul Jat Julani Aala. On him Alah has been sung by many people in Haryana culture. He acted against the injustice to the community or individuals. He was considered as haryanvi version of 'ROBINHOOD.' Moved to Julani__ Later his ancestors migrated to village Julani, tahsil and district Jind. When they migrated to Julani some of his ancestors were still living in Barwas. When Harphool was a child the country faced a severe drought of 1899 called chhapana akal. His father was badly affected by plague during the famine and died. Harphool along with his maternal uncle moved to village Sandowa in Bhiwani district in search of livelihood where he stayed with his relatives. It is said that after death of his father his mother married with her devar Ratna. Finding life difficult at Sandowa the family came back to Julani. His close uncle denied him share in the land and conspired with villagers to get Harphool arrested by Jind Police. He was badly tortured by the police but released after some time. Joined Army.. Later Harphool joined Indian Army. He served there for ten years. He took part in the first world war. During this period he saved the life of children of one British Colonel when they were surrounded by enemies. The British officers were very pleased with his acts of bravery. When he left the army he was asked - what he would like as a gift? He asked for a folding gun as an award which was granted to him. When Harphool returned to his village the first thing he did was to shoot the Police Officer of Tohana, who had illegally arrested him and tortured. He called for the sabha of village Panchayat where accept Chaudhary Kurda Ram he did not get any body's favour. Aggrieved by this injustice he shot his step brothers because they caused his mother's death and were not giving his due share on his land. After that he became bhagoda and spent life here and there in Jind and Loharu areas. A great protector of Cows.. He was a great protector of Cows. He destructed so many Boochadkhanas (Slaughter House) in which Cows were being killed. He had great respect for Cows and killed the people on a large scale those who slaughtered Cows. One such incidence is still remembered by the people of his area. It occurred on 23 July 1930 at village Tohana where there was a Kasaiwada for killing Cows. The Muslim Ranghars were the people who were doing it. They did not stop this in spite of strong local opposition. The Nain Khap of 52 villages had attacked this slaughter house many times but could not succeed. At this moment villagers asked support of Harphool and he readily agreed. As per his plan disguised as a woman he killed all Muslim Ranghars of Tohana Slaughter House on 23 July 1930 and freed all the Cow slaughter. After this he also destroyed the slaughter houses of Jind, Narwana, Gohana and Rohtak. This incidence brought him into lime light at National level. The Nain Khap of 52 villages awarded him title of SAWA SHER.. During this period he helped many poor people. Apart from his love for cows he was very supportive for the poor and oppressed people. He had great respect for the ladies. He provided instant justice to the poor people so much that he used to be called as a mobile court. Hanged to death.. When he was under ground, Police had declared an award for his arrest. Once when he was staying at his sister's house at village Pacheri Kalan in Buhana tahsil district Jhunjhunu, he was arrested when in sleep. Here in this village he had friendly relations with a Thakur of Pacheri, who is believed to have informed the Police. Some people say he was cheated by his Brahman muhboli behan's husband, who informed police about his stay. He was hanged to death by the Police in 1936 at Firozpur jail. His body was not handed over to the relatives out of fear that there might be rebellion in his favour. Honour.. There is a ragni sung by Azad Khanda, available on youtube, that mentions his name. One line from that ragni- 'Ek jatni ke issa chhora jaamya tha. ekle ne ghane hathe todd diye the.'
