Just to bring it back to the topic, I consider myself a Hindu Jat. I was born into a Hindu Jat family, we (me and my family) are Jats by our caste (a Hindu concept) and culture, and we adhere to Hindu religion.
After my birth I am sure there was a Brahmin who did my naamkaran (Hindu baptism). All the Jat weddings (not just in my family or village but everywhere) I attended were Hindu ceremonies and had Brahmins who fulfilled all the rituals. Whenever I encountered a death of a loved one or a Jat known to me, they had their last rights done in Hindu way including a Brahmin.
Every year in the month of Shraadh we make offerings to Brahmins and a Brahmin is always needed for Pind daan to my ancestors, we have always believed in Paropkar and donate whole heartedly to Mandirs and Goshalas. Infact one of the main Hindu Jat festival of Govardhan cannnot be completed without a Brahmin. And I hope I dont need to give more examples to put myself across.
Honestly, God forbid if one day I happen to convert myself from Hinduism, say to Christianity, Judaism or Islam I dont think I will have any place for Jat in my identity. To me caste is a strict Hindu principal and concept, unfortunately it has landed my religion in dark shadows as well, but I still believe in it and hope for situation to change one day.
So here it is once again, I am a Hindu who is from a Jat family. I could have been a Brahmin, Baniya, Rajput, Shudra, but I still would have been Hindu. But if I was not a Hindu then I would have never been a Jat or any of those, to me Hinduism is the only religion that sustains castism.
And I am as proud to be a Hindu as I am of being a Jat.
Thanks,
Thanks for your views and i respect your views!
There seems to be two main idology here on jatland!
One more towards Hinduism and other towards Jats!
I will make new forum in may(i am busy in april) for hardcore jats where every jat of every religion with support from forum members will be allowed.
The problem is that i as a jat from jhunjhunun, hate Brahmins and Rajputs specially.
Reason is in Rajasthan Jats were not allowed to drink water from same well as Brahmin and Rajputs!
We were treated badly!
We had a fight with Rajputs and Brahmins and we won!!
My father never went to temple!
I can understand why he didn't!
Its very tough to worship when you are humilated!
I am no slave of religion!
Hinduism to me is just a religion and Hindu people did their best to abuse us!
To me every Brahmin, Rajput and Muslim(except muslim jat) is different person!
I know that Jats of Haryana have been more powerful and hence never faced that situation like Rajsthani JAT and same is true for UP Jats.
I have officially stopped practicing Hinduism!
Every time someone writes post like above, he disrepect our feelings!
Or may be i should say our priorities, our goal has changed!
You are haryanvi jat and we are Rajasthani Jat!
Its time for us to Depart this Hindu/Brahmin land!
