Important and Urgent Proposals and suggestions
Dear Friends,
Karan has settled down in the village. He was very excited about it all. He has been introduced to the teachers at the village schools. The 9th and 10th standard students didn’t have a maths teacher for long. He has eagerly taken on this responsibility too. Brother Ramesh has volunteered to make 2-3 visits to help him out and also to work and see other options.
I have a few suggestions:-
1. We can make this option available on the website too, with the necessary requirements. I mean, volunteers who want to stay and work in villages for a period of time. We can coordinate it.
2. I feel, we should decide to take a computer to the village. It can be used as an Audio visual aide for making presentations to the children and is a very good crowd puller (in this case the kids). Please keep in mind that it is not for introducing computer education straight away (we aren’t equipped for that), it is to attract the children to the class and using it as an aide to give interesting and educative presentations. The exercise would require 10-15000 one time and if we want we can do it straightaway. I would strongly recommend it.
3. A third suggestion came from Ramesh and I personally will second that as I have been thinking on same lines. The suggestion is that, there shouldn’t be any fee to join or associate with this effort. Whatever funds we collect should be in form of donations alone. I mean fee should not be a compulsion. We feel we will have more and motivated volunteers that way.
Request your suggestions/advice on this at the earliest.
