List of Punjab Chiefs

We have compiled a [Wiki]List of Punjab Chiefs[/Wiki]

The list of the Punjab Chiefs contains various ruling families and held positions of authority in Punjab and it was compiled by Sir Robert Montgomery, Lieutenant-Governor of the Punjab in the 1860s during British Rule. The intention of the work was to give a picture of the Punjab aristocracy as it existed at the time. It was first published in 1890. As a general rule, only the histories of those men have been written who possess, at the present time, rank wealth or local influence.

The second list in table is List of Punjab Chiefs by Sir Lepel H. Griffin . It contains some additional names from the book referred, we may find their clans and expand their history.

Finally We may combine to form a single list.

Most of them are Jats of various clans. We have identified their clans. If some clan is missing members may add.

See on Jatland Wiki at - [Wiki]List of Punjab Chiefs[/Wiki]
