Dear All,
I am in complete agreement with Dr Dudee. Each one to his own. Let everyone find happiness in what they think is right. Mallika is an adult and must have thought over it before doing what she did. Her parents are alive to guide her, if needed. And what did she do? A few kissing scenes in a movie. Movies is her livelihood and profession. Encourage her. And whether Himanshu is a Punjabi or a JAT is of no consequence. If there was a supercomputer to give me results of DNA matching of people living from Iran to Western UP in an hour, who knows how many of us would find ourselves in which category.
The point I am trying to make is that how come we have become so judgemental. Who has gives us this authority? And what society? We tell our daughters to dress up from top to toe and then peep into the necklines of others. Come on give me a break!
My advice to fellow members, a humble one, is to please use your broad mindedness on your children. Give them opportunities and freedom that we couldn't get because our parents weren't as broadminded as we think we are. In many cases it is the other way round though.
Though I haven't seen the movie, I saw enough promos and got bored. The only thing I didn't like was that during interviews Mallika kept repeating that she is a girl from a middle class family from a village in Haryana. Indicating perhaps that girls in villages do not kiss and it was something very liberating for her to do these kissing scenes. I see people from villages, who now are city dwellers, smooching on Marine Drive Mumbai at all times of day and night, side by side with other couples. So what?
I too have now become a party to extending this thread a little further.
