War Chod Na Yaar, just watched this pleasant touching war comedy. It's a refreshing fun packed satire and arguably India's first war comedy. Sharman Joshi as a Jat Captain acted really well so is Javed Japhri as Captain Kurashi from Pakistan. I came across this nice review and I second with it.

I give it 4/5. A quality movie not to be missed in these days mindless bull$hits.

Faraz Haider's War Chhod Na Yaar is a welcome and refreshing satire on wars. The Indo-Pak border counts as one of the world's most hostile regions but Haider's tender story dishes out a wickedly told film filled with engaging humor that will have you in splits. The commendable effort and the clever take on the theme of war puts across a more poignant message of futility of wars without trivializing the intention of it!

"The film's script and execution is both so interestingly done that watching it will be amply satiating. Luckily it is a simply told story that focuses on making you laugh and yet drives home the reason why the camaraderie works! A humorously weaved satire on how the mechanics of war works, we are presented with a story where soldiers from either end of the border discuss what's for lunch. They sit across the line of control and play cards.

"Director Faraz Haider has carried out his job quite well and you know that for sure when at the end of the film audiences burst into a loud applause.

"Faraz Haider's War Chhod Na Yaar is a treat of film that manages to evoke moments of ecstatic delight with its simplistic take on the horrific brutality of war which pointlessly creates havoc in the lives of people. The film could have gone massively wrong but the good part about this flick is, it convinces you about its premise entertainingly."

irfan , nawazuddin , nimrat..all superb...very talented..
after a long time I saw such a movie that reminded me the era of shaban azmi, naseerudin, smita patil..
nawazuddin ..i saw him first in gangs of waaseypur..what an actor!

though islam hardly endorse films/music/theature.. muslims have lot of talents here..they are genius in singing, shayri, acting etc...far better from others...

I was quite surprised when today I got to know that nawazuddin is from budhana (muzzafarnagar).. a town just 10 KM away from my village !!..

Wolverine - 2 on 5

Till Now X Men series quite interesting flicks to watch . Delight watching Wolverine ( not movie rather the character ). Predictable story . Action wise okay , there is one action scene over bullet train that was quite good . Altogether only 1 time watch . Many dialogues in Japanese .....please download subs for same .
Last 5 min is awesome as Xavier is alive ( previous X men movie , X died ).......looking forward to coming one ...
 
Strange no one has posted any thing about " Ram Leela " ......cool so here it is

Movie start with " Inspired by Romeo Juliet " . 2 things u know then about movie (a) Hard Core Romantic Love Story ( b) Hero - Heroine would die in end .

Full rubbish movie ......double meaning dialogues....cheap romance ......predictable twists ......2 communities - lives in neighbouring area are enemies . One side ka ladka falls in love with other side ki ladki . After many faltoo twists .....they both kill each other saying its better ( ishaqzade ka final scene )

Set up are good , costumes fine . Supriya Pathak------good . Ranveer at some places good . Nagad song is delight to ears .

In short till now Bhansali ki pathetic movie ( i have not seen Sawariya .....still ).....n somebody should sue him for using " Romeo Juliet " name .

Let me put this way ......ek hota a stable connection n ek hota hai Intermittent Connection ....whole movie is like some Intermittent connection bore....good....bore...good..

Story : There is a thief who is circus artist as well aiming to bring a Bank down as they took away his father circus on non payment of loan installments . US calls mumbai police to help , mumbai police failed in attempt then US ask them to go back . As usual Mumbai police took it to heart n decide to solve the case finally solve the case .

Imp Features : A good predictable story......but sad loose screenplay , Revenge always works . Many senti scenes totally cashing Indian audience . Revealing of mystery Aamir talking to his twin like he is talking to himself in mirror......good ( oops have I revealed the mystery he had a twin brother - twist remind me of The Prestige ) . Aamir okay , young boy played young Aamir ----act quite good . Some action scenes were good .......but still I like Dhoom 1 a lot better . Kamli song Delight to ears n eyes ( i bet they have used body double ......remind a lot a Shava Shava from Jab Tak Hai Jan ) , Malang was delight to eyes .....instruments used in the music good. Climax was okay ....... Many loose ends in movie ......too long .....not required songs ......not required love story ......clearly visible animated action scenes

Overall .......Do Not watch It
 
Anchorman 2- 4/5 - hillarious, will tickle you throughout

American Hustle: 3/5 - Good, but a bit slow

Dhoom 3- 2/5 - same old bollywood drama, and uday chopra needs to retire
 
RUSH - For me, best movie of 2013. The depiction of professional rivalry between Hunt and Lauda is amazing. You don't have to be a Formula-1 fan to appreciate this master-piece, just go ahead and watch it. 10/10

I have loved you so long - French movie

3.5 on 5

Story of a mother who killed her dying son to save her dying son from pain . After spending 15 years in prison - guilty of murder , came back to live with her younger sister . Finally she opens up and explain all to her sister . Many good scenes ....... Screenplay very well written , every scene worth watching . Struggle of younger sister to make elder one understand she was forced to forget her .
Must Watch

The Activist :

Based on real incident of " Wounded Knee " ( i never heard of same , try reading this in wikie ) about Native American Indians . 2 activist ( Ray n Buddy ) arrested ......how they happen to know hidden agenda behind all that ....propose deal with govt official . End was sad ......

Touchy Feely :

Bore ......do not watch
 
The Underneath 1.5 on 5

A couple go for camping and hot stuck underneath surface . They tried all possible ways to escape , during the course they found underneath has some creatures who are cannibals . Gal some how escaped - however again got trapped .

For gals :At personal discretion many violent scenes
 
Wolf of Wall Street: 4/5

A nice movie of how greed can turn you bad, make you leave everyone and in the end how you pay price for it. Superb work by Leonardo. Movie looks serious but is funny for the most part.

How ever do not go with elders, family. Some scenes are not meant for younger audience.
 
American Hustle 3.5 on 5

Story of con couple of Irving ( Christian Bale )and Sydney ( Amy Adams ) . They got trapped by Richie - FBI ( Bradley Cooper ) and forced to work for him to catch 4 corrupt people . After series of events they turn the table around ......and finally got rid of FBI trap and decided to leave con life . Irving is a married to Rosalyn ( Jennifer Lawrence ) who played a role of dump spouse ......did quite well .
Christian Bale Superb ......look was great ( same guy from Dark Knight , Machine ) . Bradley over ambitious FBI -great again . Many hilarious scenes there is one between Bradley and his boss where his boss always try to tell him a story of Ice Fishing but never let him finish rather finish himself by some assumed ending , Fake Arab by some Puerto Rican , Dumb spouse tend to consider smartest of all ......- movie is all in all delight to watch .

Also Robert Dinero- very small role but good

About Time 3 on 5

Hero on turning 21 years told by his father that he can travel back in time . Looking for gf try some stuff . He did find his love . After loosing his father he realized he does need to go back rather enjoy every day to fullest .
Nice - warm movie with some comic stuff . All in all good movie to watch .
There is a song " How Long I love you " .....beautiful delight to ears
