Ms. Mayawati's Prime Ministrial Ambition!!!

Kuldeep let me correct you that here we are not against her because she is a "Poor Dalit Mahila"....we are against her because her caste has been used as a Sympathy factor to make her PM...which is not at all a sane thinking.
Regarding your fictional character"Satyawati" well her winning will be meaningful and will be of any use only if she has done something remarkably good for the betterment of public. If her ultimate goal is to help and work for people she deserves to be PM.So if her aim is to do some social work and is not selfish enough to loot money to buy farmhouses and property then it will be an absolute pleasure to have her as our PM.And one more thing...if in place of her we would have discussed Pratibha Patil (now here its your turn to assume that she is not our President) still we would have opposed her.To the best of my knowledge Pratibha Patilis a Rajput("Talwar" if we go by Mayawati's slogan).....now for God's sake dont say that i am against Pratibha Patil because she is a female:D or.....she belongs to upper class thats why i dont want her to be PM.I dont want one useless person to be PM only because one has advantage of being from a certain class or caste. Its ridiculous. So if she woudn't have been a Dalit we still would have discussed her to evaluate her capabilities and qualities to make or not to be or not to be our next PM.
Now for a moment lets not talk about Mayawati. Lets take another female- Satyawati (fictional ) who is from economically poor background, had to face difficulties throughout her life but in the end overcome all the obstacles and through the rigours of Indian political system becomes the PM....would not that be the ultimate win of the Indian democracy? Giving power to the common people.

Coming back to Mayawati...I will repeat my earlier question - If she was not a dalit , would we be having this discussion?? What will be your answer sir?- yes or no?

[by we I mean the jatlanders]!

Lets start a new thread then -- Should Sharad Pawar be the next PM?

And only a simple -- yes or no would have been sufficient for the question i asked...

now lets discuss two of the crowd's fav - A P J Abdul Kalam (the former President who is liked by everyone) and Chandra Babu Naidu ( Deepika's favorite)

A P J Abdul Kalam during his stint as the president of the country opened up the Rashtarapati Bhavan to the people in a way no one had ever imagined. He interacted with people , mailed to children ,gave power point presentations and the media and the public lapped it up like anything....he was the true saviour!! But when it comes to his record as the head of the executive its below average to say the least...(i dont want to list the shortcomings here)

so in final analysis --was he a good prez??...now we can say that since the prez is just a rubber stamp...doesnot matter wht is administrative record is..atleast the children loved him!

Now the curious case of Chandra Babu Naidu....he usurped power the moment his father in law died...won one election on the goodwill of NTR....then created a media hype abt the Digital revolution in Andhra Pradesh...the media loved it..India Today consistently ranked him the No. 1 CM...then one year before the elections were due there was an attack on him by the naxals and he tried to cash on the sympathy wave....called in early elections and was handsomely defeated by the congress's YSR...
now waht was happening when Naidu was going in a fast forward mode with his Techie Mumbo Jumbo?? ...People were dying...farmers committed suicide...naxalism was at its peak...all this was not reported in the mainstream media...and even if they did it was overshadowed by Naidu's tech skills...

he was not such a good CM after all...and donot have to take my word for it...do ur own research...u will come to know!

Now Partibha Patil v/s Bhairon Singh Shekhawat...its a separate discussion altogether...first women president for the world's largest democracy would have been a moment of glory...but in the end what we remember about the election is lot of trumphed up charges by the BJP..

Conclusion : We should not let images deceive us...and do a balanced analysis..

Hello Dear ,

Request you to kindly elaborate on Kalam sahib's shortcoming as president...

It will be interesting to know....

Deepika:

Kindly do not expect any reply from me ever again to anything you say, so please excuse.

Regards,

Vikas

Mayawati is so scandulous that she is making people fight even when they are far away from India:D.......When you are not a great admirer of Mayawati then why did you seek my replies on certain issues so desperately? She doesn't have even a single quality to be a PM and surprised to see people willing to make her PM out of "Sympathy" for a "Dalit Behan" and some people find her leadership qualities incomparable...well anyone can be a leader and can rule if one has so many pet criminals working for her.Hitler also ruled and is a source of inspiration to lot of people(m sure u know that)...Does it make him a inspirational personality in real?He was nothing but a dictator and still people admire him.I consider his admirers insane.Even the worst person can have some admirer for his wrong doings.Getting inspired from someone for negative and cruel characterstics is no sanity. Now m sure again you will call my reply illogial, but u also take a deep breath and read it again it will start making sense to you:)
If my reply was rude(as u think)ur pervious reply and this one are no less....you also dont sound very well informed as u started off with some exceptionally funny illogical reasons....aapne ek kahawat suni hai"LADAI BARABAR ROVAI BAADH"....please dont mind it was on a lighter side....My reply was very much logical and apt....had it been illogical you wud have never missed any chance of highlighting that part and again shooting questions....I dint miss any point....and if it seems to u,then its you problem. If you are hurt in any way my sincere apologies. But its not only you who gets hurt.I think arguments were something u started off with and now u have put the blame on me very skillfully. You suggested me to take a deep breath before replying, why dont u implement the same on yourself. When you shoot burning questions how can you expect icy minty answers?

Deepika Singhroha

Wow, everyone is going nuts over Mayawati :). I can bet that she is not going to be the next Prime Minister. I can offer good odds as well. Anyone wants to take the opposite side?

My funda is simple. No one can form a govt. without BJP/Congress. And both of them would be very stupid in making Mayawati the PM. As that would not only increase her base (at the cost of both BJP and Congress), but also paradoxically, bring them in conflict with Dalits. The reason for that is that whenever the political divorce happens (As it would surely. Even good, stable things don't last forever, this would be an opportunisitc alliance), it would be really ugly. Mayawati would play the politics of victimhood and shout from rooftops that the support was withdrawn because of her being a Dalit. And then her past supporters would have more to worry about than the erstwhile opposition. In fact, BJP has been there and done that in UP. So it'd be a political suicide for either party to prop up Mayawati as PM. Having said that, nothing is impossible and there is a chance that one of them goes for it- but it should be a small chance.

So I think all those getting sleepless nights over her elevation should take a chill pill (I even know people who proclaim that they'd renounce Indian citizenship the day Mayawati becomes the PM). Having said that, I think this evil-isation of Maywati is quite disturbing. I whole-heartedly disagree with her brand of politics, but this fear-mongering over her becoming the PM is not only ridiculous but also counterproductive. Ridiculous because she is not too different from any other politican indulging in "vote-bank" politics. How is a foreign educated Varun Gandhi who proclaims that "Hamare Logon pe koi haath uthaayega...." any different? Or Ulemas openly asking for consolidation of Muslim votes? Or Mulayam Singh/Laloo, etc. trying to consolidate OBC votes? Or Congress trying to appease the Muslims? Or BJP invoking Hindu pride? Forget everyone else, we saw so many posts on Jatland where we were asked to vote for X/Y/Z because they were Jats. Divide and rule may have been a British theory, but Indian politicians have mastered it. So no point in singling out Mayawati.

And it is counterproductive because the more she is seen with horror, greater is the appeal of her politics of victimhood to Dalits. Dalits don't vote for her because they think she is a messiah. They vote for her because she challenges the status quo. She gives them a reason to be proud, even if they remain in poor and wretched condition. Poor people know how to bear with poverty. But hardly any human being can bear with humiliation. Mayawati is their hope. Maywati is their revenge. The more you oppose her "personality", the more support she is going to generate. And I'd even argue that her politics has done some good for Dalits. They get a sense of inclusion in Indian democracy. They are more vocal about their rights. It is getting increasingly difficult for upper castes to mess with them. The flip side is reverse discrimination. And it is a pity that a section of our nation have to root for an inept and corrupt politician to feel honourable. But it is understandable.

Samar Kadiyan if this kind of bullshit makes you feel like some lunatic person....then m sorry to say u are wrong...apni yeh sushri ki padvi mujhe dene ki zarurat nahi tumahre aas paas bhi bahot saari ladies hongi kisi ko bhi de de....tumko kisne bola ki mai chunav ladd rahi hu?peechli post dhyan se padho...maine mention kiya hai ki that will be the last thing on my mind....no wonders top get this crap from you....u keep doing it every now and then and not only with me but with lot of people....Do u have some other job or u devote all ur time doing only this?:DI dont know abpout myself.but if we have a politician like you things would be worse for sure....anyways u enjoy such nonsense so keep doing it...ENJOY

About Sharad Pawar i can't say anything as i dont know about ability and workings....so my answer is neither yes nor no....
While mentioning Abdul Kalam's good work during his time as President,u forgot to mention that he wasn't involved in any scam or corruption to mint money by misusing his power :)He may not be a good president(as per you) but to be he was one.
Nowhere i have mentioned that Chandra Babu Naidu is my favourite...i just compared him with Mayawati for all the develpomental works under their tenure as CM repectively.....And as people believe that in Indian politics one gets what one deserves...Right?...if he wudn't have done good during his tenure then how come he is ranked one?Well what is good for me may not be good for you...Its law of nature so if Chandra Babu Naidu choose to go for the digital revolution....He had to suffer the bad effects of it in any way...If he wouldn't have chosen it Andhra Pradesh would have been a backward state in terms of technology.....for doing it or not doing it,anywhich ways he would have faced critics like you....So no wonders...
I never discussed Partibha Patil v/s Bhairon Singh Shekhawat episode....but i mentioned Pratibha Patil's name as u were claiming that we were against Mayawati because she is a dalit....So i mention that even if Pratibha Patil(Rajput) would have been considered for this post still i would have opposed...So Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was never in the scene....
By the way what made you claim that we people are against her because she is a dalit?
what qualities in Mayawati have moved you to recommend her so strongly?

Mayawati, as PM of India ..... I hope it is a bad dream.

I don't want to say that other politicians or parties are doing good for the country but she is too much involved in injecting venom into the minds of some specific communitiy/communities. Even Congress and BJP play Muslim and Hindu cards respectively but still they are leading parties and have some people who are against these games. While BSP's existance is totally caste based harted where their leader vomit out venom about other castes and her followers just believe on that without using their own minds.

It is an irony that so called supressed, humilated, degraded castes don't want to get wise but falling into the hands of person who is not better than their previous supressors.

wht mayawati did - dalits feel secure now which they did not feel earlier...their dignity is somewhat restored...
talk to people from UP...they will tell u...

Abt AP...lets dig out facts...then we can be certain...Naidu had a good PR thts one of the reasons he was in the front pages...

u dunno abt sharad pawar...why??bcoz the media does not project any light on him...nd personally u dont want to know...

when we talk abt Pratibha Patil...the debate invariably involves Bharion Singh Shekhawat ..bcoz the election was between the two....u cant talk abt one w/o talking abt the other...

and this discussion is not abt personal likings...

and dont just post because i quoted u....have something concrete then bring it up...try to link up things....write something fruitful nd useful...

No i dont know much about Sharad Pawar and u can assume any reason whatever suits you the best....I m sure its not only U.P people who will be handled by Mayawati when she will become PM....That's obvious that dalits feel secure becoz of Mayawati but Dalits are not the only people who wish to feel secure and should feel secure....O.k may be you are right that all the hype abt Naidu was because of PR....but still it won't make Mayawati look better as a PM.....Again as i said i was not discussing Pratibha Patil's candidature for President's post but assumed her not on that post the way u assumed that we are against Mayawati coz she is dalit and we wouldn't have discussed her otherwise....my point was that even she would have done the same scams and would have been rajput like Pratibha Patil still we would have been against her the way we are rightnow ....
well about fruitful and useful....do u write the same? i mean even if u defend her like this will that help in increasing her chances of becoming PM in any way?So debating about her or any other politician can't be fruitful or useful no matter what...

Thanks for dropping this post and it has made me feel a little better...I was considered as the monster who was against one poor abla dalit mahila but a number of repectable members here....every word u have written is so meaningful and logical that nothing cud be better than tht:)

hahahahah yooo k s .

She insists that she's incorruptible, and that her vast wealth is simply gifts from her many supporters. She isn't given to modesty.

Mayawati has a 2,000-page autobiography and collections of diamond jewelry and homes. On her birthday, which she renamed Dalit "Self-Respect Day," officials line up to pay her fealty.

That's for sure Goyat bhai! Her money has been pumping in every here and there!!

Leave everything aside and don't take tension.....!

Let's wait and watch for the judgment day!

To Deepika and all

Leave this topic and have a chill-pill Deepika!

I think one issue this whole discussion raises is how does a politician really rise
to become a national leader....especially if you are pretty much coming from
nowhere...i.e. you don't have the Gandhi tag, or a long lineage of
politicians on whose shoulders you can get a jumpstart.

It seems to me that you have to find a segment to appeal to, find some success there, and then try to catapult yourself to the national stage...
and then spend your energies getting rid of the niche segment tag that
you used as a stepping stone.

If you look at Modi, we are all seeing him as a great leader with PM potential.
But how has he got to this point? Hindutva and the Gujarat riots would really be his stepping stones. Once there, he is now trying to further himself with
actual development in the state...hence his transformation to national
prominance.

Advani & Vajpayee pretty much also rode the Hindutva ladder. Ayodhya
was the game they played. But once in power, they were back to
the "secular" mould. I don't recall anything tinted with Hindutva in their
actual policies once they were in power at the center.

When they seem to be losing the edge, they rake up the Hindutva issues
again...but not otherwise.

Same with the Haryana Jat leaders. They all try to piggback on the
"Farmer" (read Jat) vote. Once in power they are hardly any different from
any other leader. Sure we can nitpick on some things...but bottomline is they
are aren't all "farmer" once in power.

Question is whether or not Mayawati is also using the Dalit angle
primarily as her narrow segment to gain prominance...and if, once she
ends up with some role at a national level, she'll change her stripes to
appeal to a broader group. We already saw some of that when she
aligned with the non-dalit groups in UP to gain the votes she needed.

If what RK Chacha pointed out on things she has been doing in UP, maybe
that is a pointer that she sees that she needs to rise beyond Dalits
if she is to succeed further....

I saw the discussion on Mayawati's looks and so on.
I finally actually spent some time on You Tube listening to her speeches
and checking her out (yikes!...did I just say that!). Believe it or not..I hadn't listened to her
before.

She's not THAT bad people! I mean come on. Sure she is no
Kiran Choudhary...but she is not some monster either.
I think Sitaram Kesri was way way worse.

Is Mayawati married? If not, I wonder if some smart arse wannabe will
hand her the rose and get to enjoy all the loot as well...(aww come on!!...
stop it...I am talking about the maal here!!...Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...
for crying out aloud...I am talking about the MONEY fellas!!! Gosshhh!). Sort of like that
guy jisne Phoolan Devi ka paloo pakad liya tha. He said "pyar ho gaya".
I have my doubts there. ;)

Incidentally, wonder who other hot babe politicians are out there apart
from Jatni Kiran Choudhary. I bet Sheila Dixit was a pretty fine lady
once upon a time too. But don't know anyone else.

We certainly need a ferocious Jatni in political ring to fight the likes of Jaya Lalitha, Mamta Banerjee and Mayawati. Only they can disarm the " Bhism Pitamahs" of politics.

Raj Bhateeje, after a long time I feel that the Jatland is like what it used to be......

RK^2

Jatland is as it always was Chachoo.
Its just that there are a lot of new faces that we aren't familiar with
since we've been spending a lot less time here.

Lekin by the looks of this thread and plenty of others...poorana
tamasha aaj bhi hai.

Drama wohi...sirff actors naye-2.
