Dear Friends:

As Col.Tewathia has informed us regarding the visit of Shri Hooda (MP, Rohtak) we want to express our strong support for Chief Minister Hooda's plan for building an education city in Haryana (if i am not wrong sometime back i heard he was planning a big hub of educational institutes somewhere in Haryana).

We are planning to create an online petition expressing our gratitude for his intentions and our strong support for his policy on this issue.

The brief history of independent India has shown the remarkable long run impact educational institutes have on creating jobs, values and skills which are drivers of growth without dispute.

We are proud of our IITs and other institutions which have brought India back into focus at the world stage. We want the same to happen to our people in India.

I urge all members especially our overseas members, young professionals, students and people across the board to express their support by signing this petition.

Anmol.

(The petition will be ready by tomorrow morning and the online links will be posted on this thread for you to follow and fill up; The petition will be handed to Shri Hooda who will be present at the function on NJ on May 7).

:) (The jat graduate student gang: Poonam, Vindo, Raj, Amit Sansanwal, Dev ji, Rk ji and all others i am forgetting it's time we take a break from the jokes,Shayari, Raginis and fights and make good use of this forum for constructive action).:)

The following petition will be presented to Shri Deepender Hooda in NJ by local members.
Best Regards,
Anmol Ratan.

I, the undersigned community member, support your government’s policy of strengthening higher educational infrastructure in Haryana, India.

It is well recognized that imparting skills is not only the best way to get rid of social evils we are experiencing in current times but it is the only true driver of long run economic growth.

I think institutions of higher learning once created will not only cater to local demand for higher education but will equip our people to take advantage of opportunities created within India and other parts of the world.

We express our gratitude and support for your government’s ambitions and efforts which will have far reaching consequences towards empowering our hard-working, intelligent people and helping them realize their full potential.

Anmol, its very nice step. We should gather as many signature as possible and present it to Deepender Hooda. Having educational city in Haryana would have manyfold and far-reaching advantages. Tough lots of us would be able to meet him personally, I am sure people like Tewatiaji could convey the message effectively.

Just wondering, shouldn't we spefically mention "Educational City" in the petition rather than general "higher educational infrastructure"?

Hi Vinod:
I dont think we can modify the petition once it has been submitted. I guess CM is definitely better educated than the a certain politician who wears a Green turban these days, so it should not make any difference.
Great Going,
Anmol Ratan.

Very good idea.

It will also send a signal to those communists such as AB VERDAN who are opposing this project by such foolish arguments as it will be a wastage of fertile land.

Giving the government any further control of education will be a bad idea.

Government has failed miserable at providing quality "public education." The worst performing schools in India still happen to be governmentowned and operated.

If we petition the government to expand its already failed "public education program," we would do nothing but help contirbute to the already burgeoning problems of our country.

On the top of it all, government unfairly creates quotoas on the basis of caste and class. I am sure many fellow members of this forum disagree with such policies of the government. By helping the government expand in the sphere of public education, we would empower them even further to carry out such unfair public policies.

A good idea would be to ask Mr. Hooda to reduce government presence in the education sector, and instead encourage quality private education.

Sumit:
Please dont turn it into a ideological battle. We are here courtesy of public education and not due to some free thinker that exists in utopia.
We have a simple purpose: to let CM Hooda know we like his efforts.
If you dont agree: dont sign. We are not looking for "what should be" in this thread.
Kindly desist: I dont want to spend my words on right wingies.
Anmol.

Hey Anmol!

Chillout bro! I am just giving the viewers of this thread an alternative view. Maybe those who want to sign the petition would reconsider their decision by reading what I have to say.

I am sorry dude! I do not kiss-up to politicians. First they live like parasites on our tax money, and then on the top of that we host banquets for them. I fail to see the logic.

Who are you to set the standards of what what ought to be on the threads. This is a free speach forum. If I did not ask you to resist yourself from kissing-up Mr. Hooda, why would you ask me to shut up?

Anyways dude. All these words of hatred like "right wingies, Nazi" etc fail to have any effect on me. It would be a better idea for you to dispute my argument rather than indulge in name calling.

Narender Bhai! thank for the information.

But, I do not want any government participation. If such a project is economically and socially feasible, some entreprenuer will take the initiative to work on it. My evidence lies in the hundreds of thousands of private schools in India.

Government always makes a problem worse. Give me one example that the govenrment has solved a problem and made things better.

When Government undertakes a project, and invites " private particiapation," it leads to "unfair monopolization." The government hands out projects to its favorite subjects, and pays them with our tax money. Smaller businesses who could have undertaken similar projects are left out because they lack the "political contacts." This is called crony-capitalism. And I find it disgusting.

Dear Suresh:
Add your details here (address etc and state that you stand for this).
I think shows ur support and we will make sure ur name is added.
Thanks, Anmol.

Good Step Anmol.

I appreciate your efforts I think people should ( Starting with Sumit Dahiya) try to understand that this is not a discussion thread per se , either you sign the petition or don't. You want to discuss politics then please start a seperate thread.

Thanks

Abhimanyu, Its not that we purely rely on petitions for work... I agree with you, but it would have atleast some effect, some kind of signal that what kinds of work is appreciated... and it doesn't take much to sign petition, so what are you waiting for, sign...

Sumit bhai, lets not make this ideological battle, if you have better ideas then we can start another thread and you can suggest what exactly should we do... I agree privatization of education should also be encouraged...
