the decision of govt in kandahaar episode can never be justified as a right decision.

Very Right Bro. Once I watched interview with the pilot of that plane and if I remember right then he tried his best and kept the plane at rajasansi airport amritsar delayed for sufficient long. There was delay in any decision from home ministry or centre and thus no NSG commandoes reached there moreover KPS gill who was ready with his dal bal there was not used at all.

This shows a complete failure of home ministry/centre govt. to handle such situations.

Dear Samar ji
You gave the example of Russian rescue. It was in their own city and they could conduct an rescue operation and probably it would have been similar in our case also if that was the case. but how would one send forces to Afganistan without terrorists getting to know it and kill the people?
Secondly, about martyrdom, people could have thought of that if it really had some great consequences. But what would have happened is these terrorists would have been sitting in jail for years.. Holding those few terrorists wouldn't have solved the problem.

The point I was trying to make was that it's very sad and stupid that political parties are raising this issue for the sake of votes. what if it happened in time of some government. wasn't it a responsibility of later governments also to learn lessons and make security better. The situation is still the same or rather worse. so many blasts happened in recent past. with growing theats everyday, politicians just play politics. how many of the people involved in these attacks have been caught or punished.
How can people make such a sad incident like Kandhar a political issue, that too when they have been in power after that and have not been able to learn lessons and stop terrorist attacks?

Let me understand this.
Bombay attack hua, Somebody need to raise the issue, So BJP is raising it. We all agree our security is not upto mark. So if we all raise this issue it is okay. But BJP should not, why?

So they just counter attack with Kandhar, which happend long back, and many people including me do not agree with BJP decision at that time. But does that make Bombay attack Go away ?

Time to wrap up the votings.

BJP, Left has accepted the defeat in General Election for Parliament 2009.

UPA unlikely has risen up as largest alliance scoring almost above 250.Overall vote for UPA has risen.

Lets take a look at the poll at this thread:

1.UPA/ Manmohan Singh 17 --26.15%
2.NDA/ LK Advani 22 --33.85%
3.Mayawati 0--- 0%
4.Prakash Karat 0 --0%
5.Narendra Modi 23 ---35.38%
6.Lalu Prasad Yadav 2 ---3.08%
7.Any other alliance after the elections results 1--1.54%

Voters: 65

Like all exit polls, Polls at JL also indicated Modi and Advani as next PM out of 65 voters.Dr M Singh at 3rd number. But exit polls are exit polls. In most of the case vulnerable to get changed. Dr Manmohan Singh will be holding office second time and Lalu likely not to find a place in cabinet.Biggest gain for congress is in UP.. They alone managed above 20 seats.

Harayana!! Ouch!! 9 Congress 1 HJC..As recent trends and likely to remain same.

Chautala's loosing the battle of surival.''''Bhaisahab''' and '''Chautala SAAB'''' seems to be the story of yesteryears now..

nd pseudo-secularists win again !
...
at least i'm pleased with one thing... the pimps have been kicked on their butts <<< thts most important.

now they will get less seats as i mentioned above. because UPA(ULTA PULTA ALLIANCE) is now broken in many parts.i think all are agree with me.Waiting for comments.:tamatar

yes, we all are agree with you but in helping Mr Advani to be No-1 in making and selling 'Sindhi-Papads'somewhere in downtown 'Ayodhya'. That would be a better option now. Also he can built Ram Temple on his shining head. It would look good surely.

Yes, illiteriates voted for pseudo-secularists.;) They loved being 'brahmit' rather than going for too much 'prakshit' patriots. :D
p.s. : (p)sadu-sickularism is the call of the day.
heil pseudo-secularism !!!... i've always done tht, i do tht now nd i'll do tht time and again. sometimes the state of one's being 'brahmit' is better than being 'prakashit'.

samar you seems to be catching me wrong, on my stand. in one of yr posts, you asked me "are you going to vote this time ?" nd my answer was NO. let me tell you now... tht out of the the 3-4 chances wch came my way, ever since i became an eligible voter, i had always voted for congress. this time again, had i voted... my vote wud hv gone for mr. ramesh kumar, who contested frm south delhi. if you had observed, my stance had always been apolitical nd all my posts are testimony to that
(<<< pls note tht). i've criticized congress only on their policy of "psedu-secularism" for which my sand is even stronger today, then ever before. my PM candidate was modi, not because he belongs to BJP... just because he was the best candidate from the list of PM aspirants... a tough man, who dares to call spade for a spade. also, i always stood for YOUTH in todays political scenario... just to quote, a few.
i wud have loved to see his son contesting the elections... i'm all for young blood in politics.
generation NEXT, whether you follow dynasty rule, or not, is still 1000 times better than the current "चोरों की जमात" tht we have in our set-up, baring few.
with the likes of youth like rahul, sachin pilot, jr. scindia, milind deora, sandeep dixit, priya dutt nd more, i see a better future in the hand of congress, AS OF NOW. if BJP has to live up to the status of being a national party, they must start working now... in that perspective varun gandhi can have a good future in BJP. this is also true tht if BJP had come to power the indian contribution in swiss banks, might wud have doubled... hungrey wolves just waiting for their chance to prey upon... better call them as hyena's. i hope tht the youth in congress would take congress further to justify the real meaning of secularism... AMEN !!!

p.s. : hope that clarifies :)

The Great Indian Political Drama

"Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues and freebooters. All Indian leaders will be of low calibre and men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles."

HOW TRUE!! These were the all too true words of the late British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill said about Indian politics and politicians more than half a decade ago.

Not just the political class, we have ourselves (electorate) to blame equally for the state of affairs of our nation today. There is widespread corruption, nepotism, crime (including terrorism), poverty, etc. etc. (list is endless). And yet, we still go for those political gimmicks of our political masters.

Rahul Gandhi goes to the house of some Kalawati (Guess I have named her right) and has dinner with her and her family in her mud hut. Great!! Then Rahul Gandhi goes and lifts soil from the fields with the media cameras following him like honey bees. Again Great!!! Our great Indian middle class especially the youth fall for this charm of Rahul Gandhi and give him 10 out of 10.

Priyanka Gandhi goes out canvassing for Rahul and Sonia proudly wearing her late grandmother Mrs. Indira Gandhi's traditionally Indian sarees and the next day she is seen sporting tight jeans and top at a social do. It is high time, we as educated and mature citizens see through the gimmicks of our political masters and stop doing IDOL WORSHIP.

It is the very same Congress which has no inhibitions taking the support of such muslim agenda oriented parties as IUML (Indian Union Muslim League), fielding outside muslim candidates (Mohammad Azharudin) from muslim dominated areas (Moradabad) etc. etc and yet calling others non-secular. It is the very same Congress party which has promised in its manifesto reservation to Muslims (minorities) in jobs and education which has happened for the first time in India after independence (will it not affect you and me?). And yet, we say the Congress party is a progressive party. Are we not missing the woods for the trees.

Great Indian political drama and the great (so called educated especially the urban and middle class) electorate!!

I agree to most of the points you wrote. But who is to spare?
I dont find any strength in BJP. Nor the leader neither their approach. They should either be complete communal hindu party else shed off the ram mandir and come up with development basis. It is always very tough to come in power after so many years of other party rule, they were given chance but they shed off the main points of their victory and thats why loose thereafter.

They bark like anything for article 370 but never did anything, you will be surprised that they even cant dare to have a national level debate for the same. After 6 months of loosing power Rajnath started bark again to have national level debate ..... WHY? Do they have any character at all? They are deceiving the same people who supported them just for this section removal and they did nothing but SH*T.

RamMandir .... because of common minimum programme they shed it off. Are bhai jab tumhe pata hai ki tum akele nahi aaoge to pahele hi logon ko common minimum ke tehat vote kyun nahi mangte. Kyun bevakoof banate ho logon ko.

Rastrpati Abul Kalam ... why not they supported or made him candidate the second time?

Corruption ... they also did ... parmod mahajan delayed BSNL cards for more than a year just for reliance .... so no party is spared for this. So no sympathy with BJP too.

Bofors .... they speak of CBI being biased ... why didnt they have brought something conclusive in their tenure of this ... why they are wasting time and brain washing common man of this issue even now? 5 saal se jyada rahe they wo ... wo time bahut tha clear karne ke liye ... same as to undress lalu and others

Looking practically BJP is not able to stand herself on one side of main issues. Also their leadership and candidate selections are pretty baised. Antar kelah hai party mein with no mai-baap (Congress) or hierarchy (Like Communist)

They must resolve internal issues first, strengthen internal hierarchy, their views on main topics, some good leaders like shivraj chauhan, raman singh, jaitly, modi, sushma ... ek manch pe aake mehanat karein to kuch ho sakega ... else congress will always gain for one of the main reasons i.e. being week opposition.

sunil kadian, as always had very reasonable points worth mentioning. but i am impressed by jitender's previous post. despite of always carrying apolitical stance to the run-up to the recent LS elections, i'll still go for congress for some clearly defined reasons in a nut-shell...

1. they have pretty good line-up of young leaders in the offing... dynasty rule... irrespective, whether you talk of rahul, sachin, jr scindia or even our deepender hooda.
2. BJP for sure didn't had any right agendas... just blabbering on those ghise pite dialogues.
if BJP has to live up to the status of being a national party, they must start working now. define their clear-cut policies/agendas. push the youth forward to compete with congress, or else they are doomed. honestly speaking, they now seem to be totally shattered nd i don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

in short, i would say tht we were beggars, not the choosers (at least me)... it goes w/o mentioning tht i was really impressed by our indian electorate who voted congress to power nd realized the importance of having a stable govt.

Brahm, thanks for giving frank and unbiased opinion. Apart from stability another reason of people voting for Congress is the pro farmer approach taken by the UPA govt. I remember Late Rajesh Pilot told me 9 years back that congress cannot revive unless it works for the farmer and embraces him. Now we see it happening.
Ch. Charan Singh ji also used to say that if the farmer prospers all others around him including shopkeepers and manufacturers prosper and if a town gives a look of progress, it means the villages around it are affluent.
In addition to other factors if the congress govt. continues with their pro farmer agenda we hope the party will get support of people.

dahiya sir, tks for giving this information which i was not aware off. congress for sure had made phenomenal gains in haryana, rajasthan nd also in UP. all jats would be pleased if they carry forward their pro-farmer policy, as rightly said by mr. pilot. at the same time i would love to see deepender hooda rising in the ranks nd take up some central ministry in the near future. its high time, we should have some real/substantial JAT leader.
